NETGEAR AV Configuring DHCP Reservations
Product Information
The Engage product allows users to configure DHCP reservations and multiple VLANs with internet access. A DHCP reservation ensures that a specific device always receives the same IP address based on its MAC address. The product supports VLAN routing and DHCP server functionality.
The product consists of the following components:
- Engage Controller:
- IP: 192.168.77.12
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
- Gateway: 192.168.77.1
- Core Switch:
- VLAN 1:
- IP: 192.168.77.254
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
- VLAN 10:
- IP: 192.168.10.1
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
- DHCP Pool: 192.168.10.100 – 192.168.10.200
- Lobby VLAN 1:
- IP: 192.168.77.106
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
- Conference1 VLAN 1:
- IP: 192.168.77.103
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Product Usage Instructions
- Open Engage and navigate to Site Settings.
- Go to the VLAN Routing and DHCP Server tab.
- In the Advanced section, click on DHCP Address Reservation.
- Select the desired VLAN from the drop-down menu for which you want to create a DHCP reservation.
- Click on Add.
- To add a DHCP reservation for a device that has already connected to the VLAN and received an address:
- Check the box next to the device in the list.
- Click on Add.
- Enter the desired IP address for the device (e.g., 192.168.10.50).
- Click on Confirm.
- NOTE : The device needs to renew its IP address to receive the new assigned address.
- To add a DHCP reservation for a device that has never been connected to the network:
- Click on Add.
- Click on Others.
- Enter a name for the device, its MAC address, and the desired IP address.
- View the list to see the created DHCP reservations.
By following these instructions, users can create DHCP reservations either by discovering devices on the network or manually entering their information.
Configuring Multiple VLANs with Internet Access
In this article we are going to show how to configure a DHCP reservation for a device on VLAN10.
- A DHCP reservation allows you to configure the DHCP server to always provide the same IP address for a specific device based on the MAC address that is requesting an IP address.
- For this scenario we have already configured a VLAN with a DHCP server on the core switch.
