When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed
to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and injury to persons, including
the following:

The appliance should always be placed on a firm, flat waterproof surface. Be sure the appliance is in a stable position and the power cord is out of the way to prevent the unit from being tipped over.
CAUTION: Do not place on lap or lift in your hands while in operation and if the unit still contains water. -
The appliance should not be left unattended. Keep out of reach of children.

Do not use the appliance while bathing.

Do not immerse in water or any other liquid. Do not overfill.
-
Never move the appliance while in use. It can spill hot water if tilted or tipped over causing injury.

Do not use appliance while sleepy or drowsy.
-
Do not use in area where aerosol products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.

Before using the appliance, extend the cord and inspect for any signs of damage. Do not use the unit if the cord has been damaged.

The appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a safety feature.
This plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. -
To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the appliance directly into a 120V AC electrical outlet.

The appliance should always be unplugged and emptied when not in operation or while being cleaned. Shut off and unplug the appliance before moving. Do not move or tilt while in operation. Plug and unplug unit with dry hands. Never pull by the cord to unplug.

Do not operate the appliance without water. Turn off and unplug when the unit is empty.

CAUTION: to avoid the risk of fire, shock or personal injury, do not use an extension cord.

Appliance requires regular cleaning. Refer to and follow cleaning instructions.

Use this appliance only as described in this manual and only with attachments or accessories recommended.

Never add any medications or inhalant liquids to the Water Reservoir, such as Vicks Vapo Steam or Kaz Inhalant.

Do not operate outdoors. This appliance is intended for indoor use.

Do not cover or insert objects into any openings in the unit.

Do not attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this appliance.
Doing so will void your warranty. -
For residential use only.

Do not lift the unit by the Inhaler Hood when in use or if water is still inside the unit.

Electric Steam Inhaler
Using Your Electric Steam Inhaler

Fully unravel cord. Failure to do so could cause overheating and possible fire hazard. Do not use with extension cords. Place Inhaler on a flat, stable surface for use.

Remove Inhaler Hood.

Turn the Vent Assembly counterclockwise until the Index Line is aligned with the Arrow on the top of the Base (just above the Switch). Note how the Tabs align with the slots in the Base. Lift the Vent Assembly straight up to remove it.

Using tap water, fill the Water Reservoir to just below the cup rim. Do not overfill. Use with water only. Do not add any medication or inhalant liquids, such as Vicks Vapo Steam or Kaz Inhalant, to the Water Reservoir.
An unsafe condition may result if anything is added to the water. -
Replace the Vent Assembly. Align the Index Line with the raised Arrow on the Base. Be sure the Tabs align with the slots on the top of the Base, then turn the Vent Assembly clockwise until it locks into place.

Replace Inhaler Hood.

Connect cord to electrical outlet. Do not use with extension cord. Press the On/Off Switch to the ON position. The Indicator Light will illuminate.

The Steam Inhaler will take approximately 3-5 minutes to begin making steam. Use caution, the water reservoir and water will become extremely hot.

Move the Flow Levers counterclockwise for minimum steam flow. Place your face over the hood as pictured on the cover page. Do not rest your face on the Inhaler Hood because the soft plastic may bend, allowing steam to escape or causing the Inhaler to tip over and spill boiling water. Breathe normally through your nose and mouth, inhaling steam into your nasal and throat passages. Continue treatment for five to fifteen minutes (see next section for How to Regulate Steam Flow and Temperature).
CAUTION: Never move or lift the Inhaler while it is in use. Do not remove the Inhaler Hood and Vent Assembly after turning ON the Inhaler. Steam is produced by boiling water; tilting can cause water spill and possible burns. -
When vapor therapy treatment is completed, move On/Off switch to the OFF position. The lamp will go out. Disconnect plug from electrical outlet. Allow the Steam Inhaler to cool before moving or refilling it (see Care and Cleaning section). Do not operate Steam Inhaler when empty.
How to Regulate Steam Flow and Temperature
The Steam Inhaler features a patented adjustable Vent Assembly which allows
you to use either of the Flow Levers to control the amount of steam you inhale
as well as regulate temperature.
FOR MORE STEAM:
- Move either Vent Lever clockwise toward the “HI” setting. More steam will increase the temperature; this setting will thus feel hotter.
FOR LESS STEAM:
- Move either Vent Lever counterclockwise for lower steam flow and temperature.
- If the steam is still uncomfortably warm, lift your face one or two inches above the Inhaler Hood and continue to inhale.
How to Use Scent Pads
The Steam Inhaler features a scent pad slot which allows for the use of Vicks
Vapo Pads.
Note: Ensure that product is powered OFF before placing scent pad.

Use Vicks Vapo Pads (VSP-19 series)
with your steam inhaler to provide up to 8 hours of soothing vapors. -
Open Vapo Pad by tearing notch on pad bag. Do not touch pad with hands.
If pad is touched do not rub face or eyes as it may cause irritation. -
Insert Vapo Pad with angled end facing downwards toward the steam inhaler vent.

After 8 hours discard scent pad. To continue using scent pads, repeat steps 1-3.
Care and Cleaning
CAUTION: Always disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet and let the steam inhaler cool down for at least 20 minutes before cleaning.
After Each Use
- Remove Inhaler Hood and Vent Assembly and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
- If any water is left in the Water Reservoir, pour water out and wipe Reservoir and Base with a dry, clean cloth or paper towel. Never immerse the Base in water or other liquid.
- Replace Vent Assembly and Inhaler Hood; store in a cool dry place.
Weekly Maintenance
If your Steam Inhaler is used ten or more times a week or scale builds up in
the Water Reservoir, follow these additional cleaning instructions:
- Remove Inhaler Hood and Vent Assembly.
- Pour two ounces of undiluted white vinegar into the Water Reservoir and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Empty the white vinegar and rinse out Water Reservoir with fresh, clean tap water.
- Dry the Water Reservoir and Base with a clean cloth or paper towel.
- Wash Inhaler Hood with mild soap and warm water then carefully rinse off all soap with fresh, clean tap water.
- Dry the Inhaler Hood with a clean cloth or paper towel.
- Replace Vent Assembly and Inhaler Hood. Store in a cool, dry place.
After Long Periods of Non-Use
If you haven’t used your electric steam inhaler for two weeks or longer,
follow the Weekly Maintenance Instructions before the next use.
Important Note for Overseas Travelers
The Vicks Steam Inhaler is compact. You can take it anywhere you go, even when
traveling overseas. In fact, a change in your travel environment can often
trigger just the type of respiratory ailments that the Vicks Steam Inhaler is
designed to help relieve.
For travel, the Vicks Steam Inhaler has a dual voltage feature which
automatically adjusts to the electrical supply from 120 volts to the 240 volt
current found in many countries.
You may, however, need a plug adapter in some countries.
Your local luggage or hardware store can help you choose the right plug
adapter for your travels.
One Year Limited Warranty
You should first read all Instructions before attempting to use this
product.
A. This 1 year limited warranty applies to repair or replacement of product
found to be defective in material or workmanship. This warranty does not apply
to damage resulting from commercial, abusive, unreasonable use or supplemental
damage. Defects that are the result of normal wear and tear will not be
considered manufacturing defects under this warranty. KAZ IS NOT LIABLE FOR
INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF
MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ON THIS PRODUCT IS LIMITED
IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so
the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives
you specific legal rights, and you also may have other rights which vary from
jurisdiction to jurisdiction. This warranty applies only to the original
purchaser of this product from the original date of purchase.
B. At its option, Kaz will repair or replace this product if it is found to be
defective in material or workmanship.
C. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from any unauthorized
attempts to repair or from any use not in accordance with the instruction
manual.

FIRST OR SEE YOUR WARRANTY. DO NOT RETURN THE PRODUCT TO THE ORIGINAL PLACE OF

therapy at home, at the office or when traveling. Doctors recommend vapor
therapy for symptomatic relief of cough, colds and congestion. The electric
steam inhaler provides a steady flow of warm moist air directly to the nose

parched throat.
How Vicks Steam Inhaler Helps
Inhaling steam provides quick relief from cough and congestion. No medication,
Vicks Vapo Steam or Kaz Inhalant, should be added directly to the water
reservoir of the steam inhaler.

RECOMMENDED USAGE:
- Not recommended for infants under 10 pounds (4.5 kg)
- For children between 10-22 pounds (4.5 – 10 kg) do not use more than 2 pads in a 24 hour period

designed to work with your inhaler to provide soothing menthol and eucalyptus
vapors.

RECOMMENDED USAGE:
- Not recommended for infants under 10 pounds (4.5 kg)
To maintain a healthful level of room humidity, the use of a Vicks humidifier
or vaporizer is recommended to complement your use of the electric steam
inhaler.
