ECHEL36IN-C Echelon II Linear Direct Vent Fireplace
Product Information
The product is a fireplace manufactured by Hearth & Home
Technologies. It comes in several models, including ECHEL36IN-C,
ECHEL36STIN-C, ECHEL48IN-C, ECHEL48STIN-C, ECHEL60IN-C, and
ECHEL72IN-C. The fireplace is designed to provide heat and ambiance
to a room.
It is important to note that the installer should follow the
provided standard work checklist in addition to the instructions in
the installation manual. Failure to install the appliance correctly
can result in fire or explosion. Only components and accessories
approved by Hearth & Home Technologies should be used, as
unapproved ones may cause the fireplace to overheat.
Product Usage Instructions
Appliance Install
-
Verify that the chase is insulated and sealed (refer to page
26). -
Ensure the required factory included non-combustible board is
installed (refer to page 46). -
Bend up the standoffs into the installation position and secure
them (refer to page 43). -
Verify clearances to combustibles (refer to pages 16-25).

Level and secure the fireplace (refer to page 45).
-
Verify clearance to header (refer to pages 18-19).

Ensure heat management system(s) and/or power vent are properly
installed.
Venting/Chimney
-
Ensure the venting configuration complies with the vent
diagrams (refer to pages 32-39). -
Install, lock, and secure the venting in place with proper
clearance. It may need to be ordered separately. -
Install firestops (refer to Section 5).

Install the attic insulation shield (refer to page 42).
-
Install and seal the exterior wall/roof flashing (refer to
Section 7). -
Install and seal the terminations (refer to Section 7).
Electrical
- Provide unswitched power (110-120 VAC) to the appliance.
- Properly install switch wires (refer to Section 8, pages
54-57).
Gas
-
Ensure the appliance is the proper one for the fuel type. If a
conversion was performed, make sure it was done correctly. -
Perform a leak check and verify the inlet pressure (refer to
Section 9, pages 58-61). -
Verify the proper air shutter setting for the installation
type.
Finishing
-
Do not install combustible materials in non-combustible
areas. -
Verify that all clearances meet the installation manual
requirements. -
Finish the installation using either the inside fit or overlap
fit method. -
Remove the bottom finishing template and finishing guards.

Ensure that mantels and wall projections comply with
installation manual requirements.
Appliance Setup
-
Remove all packaging and protective materials from both the
inside and outside of the appliance. -
Ensure that refractories and media are installed
correctly. -
Install and secure the glass assembly.

Appliance Install Sections 3 and 6
Verified that the chase is insulated and sealed. (Pg. 26) Required factory

Appliance Setup Section 11 (Pg 74-78)
All packaging and protective materials removed (inside & outside of appliance).
Refractories and media installed correctly.
Glass assembly installed and secured.
Accessories installed properly.
Decorative barrier front properly installed. (May need to order separately.)
Manual bag and all of its contents are removed from inside/under the appliance
and given to party responsible for use and operation.
Started appliance and verified no gas leaks exist. Lights work in all switched
positions (if so equipped).
Component heat shield is installed. (Pg. 56)
Hearth & Home Technologies recommends the following: · Photographing the
installation and copying this checklist for your file. · That this checklist
remain visible at all times on the appliance until the installation is
