INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Unfold the three panels outward. Extend the support legs.

  2. Fully extend battery leads and connect the battery clips to the + positive (red) & – negative (black) battery terminals on a 12 V battery. Ensure that the connections are secure.
    NOTE |The kit should be connected to a battery generating at least 8 V to start the solar controller. If your 12 V battery is fully discharged, charge it for a short period of time by other means to reach 8 V.

  3. When you connect the kit to the battery, the LCD display on the solar controller will turn on automatically.

Please read the following information about the solar charge controller LS1012EU carefully before you connect the battery clips to the battery terminals of your 12 V battery.

  • Read all of the instructions in the manual before installation.
  • DO NOT disassemble or attempt to repair the controller.
  • Power connections must remain tight to avoid excessive heating from a loose connection.
  • Only charge batteries that comply with the parameters of controller.
  • Risk of electric shock, the PV and load can produce high voltages when the controller is working.

The LS1012EU controller is a PWM charge controller with USB output that adopts the most advanced digital technique. It’s an easy operation and cost efficient controller featured as:

SETTING OPERATION

Load ON/OFF Setting
When the controller is powered on, press the button to control the load output.

Battery Type Setting

  • Step 1: Enter setting mode by pressing the button for 5s until the battery status LEDs are flashing.
  • Step 2: Select the desired mode by pressing the button.
  • Step 3: The mode will be saved automatically without any operation for 5S and the LED will stop flashing.

PROTECTION

Battery Over Voltage Protection
When the battery voltage reaches to the set point of Over Voltage Disconnect Voltage (OVD), the controller will stop charging the battery to protect the battery from being overcharged to break down.

Battery Over Discharge Protection
When the battery voltage reaches to the set point of Low Voltage Disconnect Voltage (LVD), the controller will stop discharging the battery to protect the battery from being over-discharged.

Load Overload Protection
When the load is overloading (The overload current is ≥1.02 times, 1.05 times, 1.25 times, 1.35 times, 1.5 times the rated load current), the controller will automatically cut off the output after 50s, 30s, 10s, 2s and 0.5s. User has to reduce load appliance, then press the button or repower the controller.

Load Short Circuit Protection
The load will be switched off when a load short circuit happens. The user has to clear the short circuit, then press the button or repower the controller.

High Voltage Transient Protection
The controller is protected against small high-voltage transients. In lightning prone areas, additional external suppression is recommended.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Faults Possible reasons Troubleshooting

LED Charging indicator turn off during daytime when sunshine falls on PV modules properly| PV array disconnection| Confirm that PV and battery wire connections are correct and tight.
No LED indicator| Battery voltage maybe less than 8V| Measure battery voltage with the multi-meter. Min. 8 V can start up the controller.
Charging status LED indi- cator fast flashing| Battery over voltage| Check if battery voltage is higher than OVD, and disconnect the PV.
LED 1 Fast flashing| Battery over discharged| When the battery voltage is res- tored to or above LVR point (low voltage reconnect voltage), the load will recover.
Load status LED indica- tor slowly flashing| Load over load 1| 1 Please reduce the number of electric equipments. 2 Press the button or repower the controller.
