BEA LZR-U920 Laser Measurement Device
Product Information
- This product is a laser measurement device with bi-directional bus communication. It emits both invisible (IR) and visible laser radiation. The IR laser has a wavelength of 905nm and an output power of 0.10mW, making it Class 1 according to IEC 60825-1 standards. The visible laser has a wavelength of 635nm and an output power of 0.95mW, making it Class 2 according to IEC 60825-1 standards. The visible laser beams are inactive during normal operation but can be activated by the installer if needed. It is important to avoid staring into the visible laser beams to prevent hazardous radiation exposure.
- The installation and maintenance of this device should only be performed by trained and qualified personnel. It is recommended to avoid extreme vibrations, covering the laser windows, moving objects and light sources in front of the laser window, smoke and fog in the detection field, condensation on the laser windows, sudden and extreme temperature changes, direct exposure to high-pressure cleaning, and the use of aggressive products to clean the laser windows. The laser window should be cleaned with compressed air or a soft, clean, and damp microfiber cloth if necessary.
- The product has LED indicators that provide information about its status. LED 1 indicates the configuration mode (red) or that the device is on and running (green). LED 2 indicates idle/transmitting heartbeat (red) or transmitting distance data (green). The Error LED indicates an error (orange) or no error (off). The Power LED indicates power (blue) or no power (on).
Product Usage Instructions
- Ensure that only trained and qualified personnel install and set up the sensor.
- Avoid extreme vibrations, covering the laser windows, moving objects and light sources in front of the laser window, smoke and fog in the detection field, condensation on the laser windows, sudden and extreme temperature changes, direct exposure to high-pressure cleaning, and the use of aggressive products to clean the laser windows.
- Clean the laser window with compressed air or a soft, clean, and damp microfiber cloth if necessary.
- Use the mounting template to position the sensor correctly. The gray area indicates the detection range.
- Drill 3 holes as indicated on the mounting template.
- Drill a hole (minimum 1/2 inch) for the cable and pass the cable through the cable opening.
- Wire the connections accordingly using the provided wire colors:
- Red (+) – Power
- Black (-) – Power
- Bare – GND
- Blue (+) – RS485B
- Blue/White (-) – RS485A
- Brown/White – ISSD1 PIN 1*
- Brown – ISSD1 PIN 2*
- If the heartbeat mode1 via the brown/white and brown wire is not used, it is recommended to ground these wires.
- If troubleshooting is required, refer to the troubleshooting section of the manual for guidance on resolving issues related to power, wiring, and LED indicators.
Note: Pin 1 and Pin 2 of ISSD1 are used for heartbeat mode1 and their connection depends on the specific use case.
