Check the dimensions of the element and wall opening, and the dimension of the window respectively. Measure the dimension of the cable duct for the drive system at the box and provide the appropriate wall or window duct.

  1. Push the guide rails onto the struts until the stop position is reached. Do not damage the slat guiding nipples. Make sure that the guide rails are at the same height.
  2. Screw down the countersunk screws to fix the box to the guide rail.
  3. Hold the unit to the mounting base, adjust it, and mark the boreholes through the guide rails on the mounting base.
    • Provide the boreholes according to the mounting material to be used. Put the motor cable through the wall or window duct already provided and fix the element to the structure.
  4. Place the covering caps in the boreholes in the guide rails.

  • Countersunk screw M5 x 16 mm
  • FB Complete width
  • LB Clear width
  • LL Slat length
Installation of the guide rail insert
  • Press the guide rail insert into the chamber of the guide rail.
  • Move the guide rail insert over the slat guiding nipples towards the top. (A slight bending of the guide rail insert eases the installation.)
  • All slat guiding nipples must be placed inside the guide rail insert.
  • The recess areas in the guide rail insert must be at the bottom side. (Locking with pins of the guide rail covering cap.)

Mounting the installation lug

  • The enclosed fastening lugs serve as an additional safeguard of the plaster base box and suppress the formation of cracks in the plaster.
  • Depending on the installation situation, screw the installation lugs to the box and the surrounding brickwork.
  • Lift the box slightly at the front before mounting the installation lug.
  • If the installation lug is bended, mount the self-drilling head screw and the screw for the mounting base as near as possible to the wrapping of the installation lug.
  • The distance between the self-drilling head screw and the upper edge of the box should be as small as possible.

Commissioning/functional check

  • Extend and retract the unit in and out completely. When extending the unit for the first time, make sure no one is in the operating radius or standing below the unit.
  • Make sure that during the later operation, the units can be extended freely and without blocking. Do not extend the unit, if objects or persons are in the operating radius of the sun protection unit. Please observe the safety instructions.
  • After the first extension check the mounting material and the construction elements for strength.
  • Automatic control devices or switches, that are not in the operator’s field of vision, may not be used for test runs of motor-driven units.
  • We recommend the use of a test cable for the provisional operation of the motor.
  • Check all settings.
  • Check all screwed connections for tightness.
  • Double-check the grip of the supports on the mounting base.

Attention!

  • Insufficient fastening of the mounting brackets can cause the collapse of the unit; there is a risk of injury or danger to life!
  • Clean the elements (see maintenance instructions).
  • Pass these instructions as well as possible instructions of the motor, switch, and control manufacturer on to the user.
  • Brief the user, whereupon you provide comprehensive information on the safety and user instructions of the system.
  • Have the correct design of the system as well as the installation and briefing with the safety information confirmed in writing (see handover report).
