Product Information

The Key Lock Floor Security Safe, Model No: SKFS01, is a heavy-duty safe manufactured by Sealey. It is made of high-quality steel construction with triple locking bolts and a powder-coated finish to prevent corrosion. The safe has a compact design and comes with pre-drilled holes and security fixings, allowing it to be securely fixed into the floor and hidden discreetly. It is supplied with two keys for access.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Safety:
    • Exercise caution during transit and handling as the safe is heavy to prevent any injuries.
    • For maximum security, securely fix the safe within a sound floor.
    • Do not install the safe in areas with excessive dampness and condensation.
    • Avoid installing the safe in floor areas that are constantly walked on or have wheeled traffic such as trolleys or pallet trucks.
    • Keep in mind that common sense and caution must be applied by the operator as the warnings and instructions provided may not cover all possible conditions and situations.
  2. Installation:
    • Carefully choose the location for the floor safe to ensure it is discreetly placed and not easily found by intruders.
    • The safe flanges should rest at floor level with carpet overlaying the safe.
    • The safe is supplied with four heavy-duty screws for fixing into wooden joists. Additional woodwork may be required if the distance between joist centers is greater or less than 16″ (406mm).
    • If installing the safe in a solid concrete floor, ensure that any recess created is sound and fully dried out.
    • To install the safe, follow the steps below:
    • Remove the door of the safe by turning the key clockwise and lifting the loose end of the door using the recessed handle.
    • Pull the door sideways to unhook it from the other end of the opening and lift it away from the safe.
    • Lower the safe into the prepared aperture.
    • Use the pre-drilled holes in the ends of the safe as a guide to drill 4mm pilot holes into the joists.
    • Screw the provided heavy-duty screws sideways into the joists to secure the safe.

Heavy-duty steel construction with triple locking bolts. Powder-coated finish to help prevent corrosion. Compact design, pre-drilled holes and security fixings allow safe to be fixed into the floor and be hidden away discreetly. Supplied with two keys.

INSTALLATION

  • Careful consideration should be given to the sighting of the floor to ensure that it is discreetly placed and not easily found by any intruders.
  • It is intended that the safe flanges will rest at floor level with carpet overlaying the safe.
  • Each safe is supplied with four heavy-duty screws primarily intended to fix into wooden joists. Where the distance between joist centers (2” thick) is greater or less than 16”(406mm) it will be necessary to create additional woodwork to bridge or constrict unsuitable spaces.
  • If the safe is intended for a solid concrete floor, any recess created must be sound and fully dried out.
  • Remove the door of the safe as shown in fig.2. Unlock the safe by turning the key clockwise (1). Using the recessed handle (2), lift up the loose end of the door by 20mm (3) and then pull the door sideways (4) to unhook it from the other end of the opening. Lift the door up and away from the safe.
  • Lower the safe into the previously prepared aperture and drill 4mm pilot holes into the joists using the pre-drilled holes in the ends of the safe as a guide.
  • Screw the four heavy-duty screws provided, sideways into the joists as shown in fig.4.

OPERATION

  • Appoint key holders for the two keys provided and discuss security arrangements for the safekeeping and availability of the keys. Place items for safekeeping into the safe. Replace the lid/door by hooking the end furthest away from the key into one end of the aperture and lowering it down into place.
  • Turn the key anticlockwise to lock the safe, and remove the key.
  • Allow the floor covering to move back into place to conceal the safe.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION

Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories, and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling center, and disposed of in a manner that is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids according to local regulations.
