General step-by-step guidelines for filter changes and disposal:
- Shut down the ventilation system.
- Remove the filters carefully from the filter housing.
- Immediately after removal, place the filter into a leak free bag and seal, ensuring it remains airtight.
- Install the new filter into the filtration housing.
- Turn on the ventilation system after dampers are open and filtration housing doors are closed.
Filter replacement and maintenance works shall be performed with common
protective measures including respiratory protection.
Filters may contain harmful matter after service. Therefore, it is recommended
that suitable PPE is worn, and great care is taken when changing filters. This
includes an FFP 3 facemask, eye protection, rubber/nitrile gloves and
protective suit. For additional safety, adhesive tape should be used to seal
any gaps.
Please note concerning the disposal of used filters:
Generally, air filters are disposed of as ordinary industrial waste. However,
air filters used in applications where potentially harmful contaminants may be
present should be treated as special industrial waste and must be disposed of
in accordance with the officially recognized regulations of the respective
country.
The applicable regulations for disposal in a specific individual case depend
on the actual conditions on site and the specific application. A generally
valid statement can therefore not be made. If not already known, we recommend
contacting the local waste disposal company in case of doubt.
Dirty filters should be safely stored in a leak free plastic bag and tightly closed
