FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can my AWS 100 scale be reset?

If there is nothing on the scale at the moment but it still shows a number or is negative, press the Tare button on the front to reset the scale to zero. This will also reset the weighing platform, even if there is stuff on it right now.

How should my AWS pocket scale be calibrated?

Press the calibration button as soon as the scale is loaded with the appropriate amount of nickels. The digital readout will flash while calibrating, which frequently takes some time. The scale will determine how many weights you need to add. Make sure you have plenty of nickels on hand beforehand.

How is a pocket digital scale used?

Press the [ON/OFF] key to turn the scale on after setting it down on a level, flat surface. You are ready to weigh when “0.0” appears. Place the item(s) on the weighing platform before proceeding. After a brief period of time for the display to stabilize, take a weight reading.

How is a 100-gram scale calibrated?

Turn the scale on. When the LCD displays “0.0,” hold down the [M] key for three to five seconds until the LCD displays “CAL,” at which point you should release your grip on the [M] key. When you hit the [M] key, “CAL” and the required calibration weight will flash on the display.

How can I reset my pocket digital scale?

Reset the device by pressing the ON/OFF button, and then hold the button down until “0.0” displays. 2. Press and hold the UNITS button for 3 seconds after the word “CAL” appears.

How can scaling error be fixed?

The rear of the scale needs to have the old batteries taken out. Install 4 brand-new AA batteries. The manufacturer of the scale recommends Duracell batteries. Before weighing again, make sure you reset the scale.

Why won’t my digital scale function?

Batteries are a common reason why digital scales display and work incorrectly. Carefully pry open the battery compartment to release the batteries. Use a small, clean paintbrush or cotton swab to remove any dust or other items that can hinder the battery connection from the compartment.

What causes the jumps on my digital scale?

Several factors can cause your scale to change. The most common causes include low battery, using it on an uneven surface, overloading, filth buildup, moving while using it, and water damage.

How precise are portable scales?

Digital pocket scales are also incredibly exact for their size, with readings of up to 0.01 grams. That is accurate enough for almost any non-scientific measurement. Most require only a few seconds to calibrate, making them always just a few seconds away from a reliable readout.

How can I tell if my scale is precise?

After putting a penny on the scale, take note of its weight. Record the new weight after adding one more nickel to the scale. You can weigh the scale with one more cent and record the result. If your scale is accurate, the weight should have climbed by 5g each time.

What two types of weighing scales are there?

One of two categories for scales is mechanical weighing scales. Weighing scales that are digital.

Why do digital scales show that I weigh more?

This is required in order for the scale to accurately reflect your weight. If you put the scale on a softer surface, like a towel or carpeted floor, your body weight will be spread out over the material’s individual fibers as opposed to being concentrated on the scale itself.

How do you correct a scale that is off?

Even if your scale is calibrated, it may produce erratic readings if it is placed on a surface that is uneven, inclined, or rounded.
