SAFETY

  • Ensure that the jack is in good working order. Take action for immediate repair or replacement of damaged parts.
  • Use genuine parts only. The use of unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
  • Locate the jack in a suitable, well-lit work area.
  • Keep the work area clean tidy and free from unrelated materials.
  • Use a jack on level and solid ground, preferably concrete. Avoid tarmacadam as Jack may sink in.
  • Ensure the vehicle handbrake is engaged, the engine/motor is switched off and the transmission is in 1st or reverse gear (or park for automatics).
  • Ensure a minimum distance of 0.5m between the vehicle and static objects such as doors, walls, etc., to allow for vehicle tilting.
  • Only place the jack under those lifting points recommended by the vehicle manufacturer (see vehicle handbook).
  • Check the lifting point is stable and centred on the jack saddle.
  • Ensure there are no passengers in the vehicle.
  • Place chocks under the wheels of the vehicle.
  • Ensure all non-essential persons keep a safe distance whilst the jack is in use.
  • Use suitable capacity axle stands under the vehicle before proceeding with any task.
  • Ensure there are no persons or obstructions beneath the vehicle before lowering.
  • DANGER: Use the jack for lifting only, NOT for supporting the lifted load.
  • DO NOT operate the jack if damaged.
  • DO NOT work under the vehicle until appropriately rated axle stands have been correctly positioned.
  • DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the jack.
  • DO NOT use the jack for purposes other than that for which it is designed.
  • DO NOT exceed the rated capacity of the jack.
  • DO NOT jack the vehicle if there is a risk of spillage of fuel, battery acid, or other dangerous substances.
  • DO NOT allow the vehicle to move while supported by the jack.
  • When not in use store jack, fully lowered, in a safe, dry, childproof area.
  • WARNING! It is very dangerous to go under a vehicle which is supported by a jack even if additional supports are used. DO NOT go under a vehicle unless it is supported by adequately rated axle stands.
  • IMPORTANT! Ensure that you can see the saddle and jacking point throughout the jacking operation in case there is any relative movement

INTRODUCTION

Its simple and effective design makes it a perfect tool for emergency lifting of a vehicle for maintenance, repairs and tyre changing. Easily stored and transported within your vehicle, ready for when needed. Fine rolled thread and precision-made thrust bearing for long life and smooth operation. The pivoted crank handle allows for low ground clearance, is long enough to clear the vehicle’s bodywork and is easy to store with the jack. A hardened steel frame and a wide base ensure a solid and stable lift.

OPERATION

PREPARATION

WARNING!
Before lifting ensure Section 1 safety instructions are strictly followed. Prepare the vehicle as mentioned in the safety instructions ensuring the ground on which the jack is to stand is level and solid (not tarmacadam). Position the jack saddle under the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended lifting point.

JACKING THE VEHICLE
Turn the handle clockwise to bring the jack saddle into contact with the recommended lifting point. Ensure the jack is vertical before continuing to turn the handle clockwise and raising the vehicle to the required working height. Turn the handle slowly and evenly to ensure no sudden movements of the vehicle.

LOWERING THE VEHICLE

Turn the handle anti-clockwise and lower the vehicle. Lower slowly to ensure no sudden movements of the vehicle.
SAFETY WARNING! Always lower in a slow and controlled manner and ensure there are no persons or obstacles beneath the vehicle, or in the path of its descent.

MAINTENANCE

IMPORTANT : Only fully qualified personnel should attempt maintenance or repair. Keep the jack clean and lubricate all moving parts with acid-free oil on a regular basis. Before each use check for broken, cracked, bent, or loose parts, or any visible damage to welds, saddle, frame and all parts including nuts, bolts, pins and other fasteners. If any suspect item is found remove the jack from service and take necessary action to remedy the problem. DO NOT use the jack if believed to have been subjected to abnormal load or shock. Inspect and take appropriate action.
IMPORTANT: NO RESPONSIBILITY IS ACCEPTED FOR INCORRECT USE OF THE JACK.
