Calcert CSRU1 Air Conditioner

Calcert-CSRU1-Air-Conditioner-PRODUCT

Product Information

The product in question is an Air Conditioner (A/C) unit. It is designed to cool the air in a room or space. The A/C unit has a compressor that consumes a significant amount of power during startup. This can cause dimming lights, computer restarts, and circuit breaker trips due to low-voltage situations. The in-rush current during startup can potentially damage the compressor’s motor.

The A/C unit is available in different capacities, categorized as follows:

  • CSRU1 – For 1-2-3 Tons, suitable for Scroll/Reciprocating compressors
  • CSRU2 – For 3 1/2-4-5 Tons, suitable for Scroll/Reciprocating compressors
  • CSRU3 – For 4-5 Tons, suitable for Scroll/Reciprocating compressors

The A/C unit requires specific run capacitors for proper functioning:

  • 2 POLE RUN CAPACITOR – Capacitance range: 88 – 108 MFD
  • DUAL RUN CAPACITOR – Capacitance range: 189 – 227 MFD

Product Usage Instructions

To ensure optimal performance and prevent potential issues, follow these usage instructions:

  1. Ensure that the electrical wiring in your premises is in good condition. Old or faulty wiring may contribute to low voltage situations and other electrical problems.
  2. Properly install the A/C unit according to the instructions provided in the user manual.
  3. Use the appropriate run capacitor based on the A/C capacity and the type of compressor (Scroll/Reciprocating).
  4. Regularly clean and maintain the A/C unit to prevent dust and debris buildup, which can affect its performance.
  5. During startup, be aware that lights may dim and computers may restart due to the high power consumption of the compressor. This is normal behavior.
  6. If circuit breakers trip frequently or if the A/C unit’s compressor is hard to start, consider contacting a professional technician for inspection and potential repairs.

For any technical support or further assistance, contact the manufacturer’s support team at the provided phone number or email address.

Starting up is the hardest time in the life of any type of electrical equipment. Ever notice that light bulbs almost always burn out when you first turn them on and not while they are on? This is due to the huge current that rushes in when a switch is thrown and power is first applied. The compressor on your Air Conditioner consumes more power on start-up than any other device in your home. A compressor may consume 45,000 watts of power while the motor is trying to start times more power than it uses while running. The large burner on an electric stove only consumes approximately 2,000 watts on high. In-rush current can damage the compressor’s motor and that motor may start up more than 6,000 times in a single cooling season.
A 5-2-1® COMPRESSOR SAVER® significantly reduces the amount of time your compressor is on high amp start-up. Some top-of-the-line A/C units come from the factory with 5-2-1® technology built in. Now you can have a 5-2-1® COMPRESSOR SAVER® installed in your A/C unit by a professional. The 5-2-1® COMPRESSOR SAVER® uses a powerful multi-layer starting capacitor and a smart switch to give your compressor the boost it needs to start up quickly, more reliably, draw less power, and save you money, too. The cost of a 5-2-1® COMPRESSOR SAVER® is a fraction of the cost of replacing a compressor damaged by hard starts. It could add years to the life of your compressor and other electrical components associated with your A/C system.

The 5-2-1 ® Method is approved by all major compressor manufacturers.
