Quick Installation Guide
To be used in conjunction with the DTU Installation Manual

For New Installations or takeovers

3G DTU Changeovers See Over For The 3G DTU Replacement

  • Install the provided Antenna’s in the selected location and connect to the DTU with the provided fly leads.
  • Power the DTU using a 12VDC battery and ensure good signal strength. Change location of antennas if required.
  • Connect power to the DTU (AC or DC as per pages 8 & 9 of the Installation Manual) and power up DTU.
  • Contact the Monitoring Centre and obtain an DirectWireless account number. You can then request to have the DTU activated and ensure it is connected to the Monitoring Centre. (Note: If the DTU was purchased without being setup to a control room,  Contact SCSI Technical Support on 1300 555 570 to have it set up to the Control Room)
  • Connect provided fly lead between the Alarm Panel and the DTU.
  • Ensure the alarm panel is programmed to report using either ContactID or Ademco High Speed.
  • Test Alarm and DTU reporting to Monitoring Centre.
  • Install the provided Antenna’s in the selected location and connect to the DTU with provided fly leads. (This is important if upgrading from 3G as the antenna for 4G is different. 3G Antennas are not tuned to operate of the 4G network)
  • Connect power to the DTU (AC or DC as per pages 8 & 9 of the Installation Manual) and power up DTU.
  • Take note of the 4G DTU Serial Number and existing account number. Contact the SCSI Technical Support Centre and request to have the DTU activated and connected to your selected Monitoring Centre.
  • Connect provided fly lead between the Alarm Panel and the DTU.
  • Test Alarm and DTU are reporting to Monitoring Centre.
