Warranty

Arlec guarantees this product in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law. If the warranty applies, Arlec will either replace or repair the product at its own expense or refund the price paid for the product.
The warranty is in addition to other rights and remedies you may have under a law in relation to the product.

LED Downlight Kit

This product is an LED downlight kit with a power rating of 5W.

Installation Information

WARNING! Please ensure the following safety warnings are observed:

The supplied bulb is an LED 5W and is not dimmable. You can use a maximum 35W incandescent GU10 type bulb in this luminaire. LED bulbs are recommended for long life and energy efficiency.
This luminaire is suitable for permanent installation indoors in a rigid and dry location.

Product Usage Instructions

Ensure the power to the circuit being connected to is isolated.
Remove the fixture from the carton and remove all packing materials.
Select a suitable mounting position.
Allow a minimum clearance of 40mm between the lamp (top and sides) and adjacent structural members and building elements.
Cut a 70mm diameter hole in the mounting surface.
Wire the supply to the terminal block.
Lift the remaining clips and secure the lamp housing in position.
Connect the supplied bulb to the lamp base connector.
Fit the bulb into the front ring and lock it in place.
Energize the circuit and check that the lamp operates.
Dispose of any packaging material.

Combustible building element above fitting:
Ensure there is a minimum distance of HCB > 10mm between the top of the recessed luminaire and any building element above it to reduce the risk of fire.
Building insulation: Do not cover this luminaire with building insulation.
Ensure there is a minimum distance of SCB > 40mm between the side of the recessed luminaire and any building element and MIC > 20mm between the top of any building insulation and the building element above it.

Installation Information

WARNING!
Please ensure the following safety warnings are observed:

This product complies with AS/NZS 60598.2.2 type IC recessed luminaire requirements, where suitable building insulation may abut and cover the dowlight [not the driver].
Refer to the CA 80ºC mark, which appears on the product below.
This product is suitable for use with building insulation that can safely be continually exposed to temperatures up to 90°C and withstand a 30s needle flame test carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 60695.11.5 with the flame applied to all surfaces of the insulation.
Loose fill insulation as defined in NZS 4246 is not permitted to abut or cover this luminaire [including the driver].
Glass fibre insulation is a suitable insulation for use abutting this luminaire.
Read the instructions prior to installation or use. Please retain the instructions for future reference.
Before attempting to install or maintain, ensure the power is switched OFF.
Installation in circuits protected by safety switches (Earth leakage circuit breakers) is recommended.
Use only on rated voltage, otherwise damage may occur.
Do not allow the fixture to come into contact with liquids.
Ensure the fixture is fully assembled before energizing.
There are no user replaceable components in this fixture.
Not suitable for use near flammable liquids, vapour, gases or in explosive environments.
If the supply cord is damaged it must only be replaced by the service agent or similar qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
Bulb supplied is LED 5W and is not a dimmable type.

RISK OF FIRE

Building insulation must not cover this luminaire
- SCB > 40mm HCB > 10mm MIC>20mm
SCB = Minimum distance between the side of the recessed luminaire and any building element as specified in AS/NZS 3000 or as specified by the luminaire manufacturer.
HCB = Minimum distance as specified by the luminaire manufacturer between the top of the recessed luminaire and any building element above it.
MIC = Minimum distance as specified by the luminaire manufacturer between the top of any building insulation and the building element above it.

Warranty

Arlec guarantees this product in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.
Arlec also warrants to the original first purchaser of this product (“you”) from a retailer that this product will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase; provided the product is not used or installed other than for the purpose, or in a manner not within the scope of the recommendations and limitations, specified by Arlec, is new and not damaged
at the time of purchase, has been properly installed by a licensed electrician or contractor who is licensed to install electrical products in the place in which the product was installed and in accordance with Arlec’s installation instructions, has been maintained in accordance with the recommendations specified by Arlec, has not been subjected to abuse, misuse, neglect or damage, has not been modified or repaired without the approval of Arlec and has not been used for, or installed in premises which are used for, commercial purposes (“Warranty”).
If you wish to claim on the Warranty, you must, at your own expense, return the product or that part of the product that you believe is defective in materials and workmanship, and provide proof of original purchase, your name, address, and telephone number and a certificate of installation or other document required by law for the installation of electrical products in the place in which the product was installed issued by the licensed electrician
or contractor who installed the product, to Arlec at the address below within 12 months from the date of purchase. Please note that the Warranty does not cover removal or re-installation of the product or that part of the product that you believe is defective.
Arlec will assess any claim you may make on the Warranty in the above manner and if, in Arlec’s reasonable opinion, the Warranty applies, Arlec will at its own option and expense replace the product (or part of the product) with the same or similar product (or part of the product) or repair the product (or part of the product) and return it to you or refund the price you paid for the product. Arlec will bear its own expenses of doing those things, and you must bear any other expenses of claiming on the Warranty.
The Warranty is in addition to other rights and remedies you may have under a law in relation to the product to which the Warranty relates.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
