Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2015/1188 concerning local space heaters does not apply to all application areas.
The Regulation applies when an installation is intended to provide thermal comfort for people in the premises. The Regulation does not apply to heating installations of a more technical nature e.g. in engineering/utility rooms, in production processes, frost protection, etc. The Regulation also does not apply to installations in vehicles, offshore or outdoors.
Many of Frico’s products can be used as both local space heaters (as defined in (EU) 2015/1188) and for technical heating purposes. It is up to the installer responsible for the installation to assess whether the Ecodesign Regulation is applicable or not. Control solutions for installations not covered by the Ecodesign Regulation are listed in a separate table.FRICO

Installation and operating instructions

General provisions
Please read these instructions carefully before installation and operation. Save these instructions for possible calls to future.
The equipment can be used only for the intended purpose specified in this Instructions. The warranty applies on installations made and used in in accordance with the requirements and regulations of this Instruction.

Purpose and scope
The appearance of the device is compatible with any interiors and systems lighting.Infrared heaters EZ100 intended for general or local heating rooms up to 4 m high. They used in retail, office and residential premises, exhibition halls, medical institutions, etc.
Recommended heater installation height indicated on the initial pages of the instructions.
Protection class: IP44.

Purpose and principle of operation
Radiating surfaces have a temperature up to 320 °C. Energy is transferred to others objects in the form of radiation, heating them.
Maximum ambient temperature +30 °C.

Installation

Elztrip devices are installed horizontally on the ceiling on mounting brackets, cable guy wires, on supporting guides suspended ceilings, etc. Mounting brackets for mounting to the ceiling included in the kit supplies. If the device is hung on cables, then use 4 suspension points as in mounting brackets. Wall Mounting Brackets fastenings must be ordered separately. Distance there should not be any between cassette modules greater distance to the floor; that is, less height H, see the figure at the beginning of the Instructions.
Minimum installation distances see the picture at the beginning of the instructions. Elements ceiling mount and screws are in terminal box.

Ceiling installation

  1. Install the ceiling mount brackets.
  2. Bend the mounting plates, located on the top panel of the device and hang it on the ceiling elements fastenings Fig.1. To fix the heater in a horizontal position, make sure that the guide pins are inserted into corresponding holes.
  3. When the incline is selected, tighten the screws securely.

Wall installation
Wall Mount Mounting Brackets must be ordered separately. (EZMVK)

  1. Install the wall brackets on the wall in in accordance with the dimensional drawing.
  2. Bend the mounting plates, located on the top panel of the device and hang it on the wall brackets fastenings Fig.2. To fix the heater in a horizontal position, make sure that the guide pins are inserted into corresponding holes.
  3. When the incline is selected, tighten the screws securely.

Electrical connection
The connection is made permanently based on an all-pole circuit breaker with an air gap of at least 3mm. Nests terminal boxes suggest the possibility daisy chain connection of a group of devices.
Maximum cable cross-section when connecting – 4 x 2.5 mm² + ground. Installation must connect to the network via omnipolar circuit breaker with air gap is not less than 3mm. All work must be carried out qualified specialist with compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
To access the terminal box, unscrew screws and remove the end section.
Junction box on top panel the device has four inputs (2 x Ø21 mm) for electric cable, two of them are equipped cable seals. Cable entry into the housing is carried out through rubber bushings so that to ensure the declared protection class.

Control
In accordance with Ecodesign (EU) requirements 2015/1188 when using the device for periodic local heating, it must be equipped with one of the following control devices.

  • TAP16R, electronic thermostat, has the following functions:
    – Electronic room control temperature plus weekly timer
    – Room temperature control in combinations with open window sensor

  • TAP16R and SKG30, black ball sensor, have the following functions:
    – Electronic room control temperature plus weekly timer
    – Room temperature control in combinations with open window sensor
    – Black ball sensor

  • TAP16R and PDK65 presence sensor, have the following functions:
    – Electronic room control temperature plus weekly timer
    – Room temperature control in combinations with open window sensor
    – Room temperature control combinations with presence sensor

The device can be controlled in another way, for example, a common dispatch system building (BMS), but in this case the responsibility for that the control system is programmed in accordance with Ecodesign (EU) requirements 2015/1188., lies with the  installation specialist organizations.

Launch
When you turn it on for the first time after a long time there may be some smoke during the break or there is a smell from burning dust on heating elements. These manifestations quite acceptable even after a short using the device they disappear.

Service

Any maintenance and repair work devices should only be produced after disconnecting from the network. wait until complete cooling of the device. The device has no movable parts, so maintenance needs minimal. It is necessary to maintain the device clean, promptly removing dirt and dust.

  • When using the machine for the first time, due to shrinkage of the surface coating of panels A rattling sound may be heard.
  • During operation of electric heating appliances heating surfaces and elements cases heat up and cool down, which can accompanied by slight clicks.
  • Install and operate the device Clean gloves are required. Make sure clean the device before turning it on.
  • Presence of residues of aerosols, varnish, solvents, dust, etc. may cause to the formation of plaque on the product and its discoloration.
  • Slight color change heating surface of the device with flow time is normal.
Incorrect or unusual installation high ambient temperatures can lead to increased discoloration. Is not affects the declared power device.

Residual current device (RCD)
If the device is connected to the network through a residual current device (RCD), operating on leakage current and when turned on it is triggered, it may occur due to insulation moisture heating elements. This is usually result of long-term storage in damp conditions.
This cannot be considered as malfunction and is eliminated temporarily turning on the device without an RCD. Drying may take from several hours to several days. To avoid moisture accumulation during prolonged periods We recommend periodic breaks during work. turn on the device for a short time.

Residual current device (RCD) In the event that the device is connected to the network through a residual current device (RCD), operating according to leakage current and when turned on when it triggers, this may occur due to the moisture in the insulation of the heating elements. This is usually the result of prolonged storage in humid conditions.
This cannot be considered a malfunction and can be eliminated by temporarily turning on the device without an RCD. Drying may take from several hours to several days.
To avoid moisture accumulation during long breaks in operation, we recommend periodically turning on the device for a short time.

Factory packaging
The materials used for packaging are selected with the environment in mind and must therefore be recyclable and recyclable.
