Before using this appliance, carefully read the instructions for use and in particular the safety notes and warnings, which must be complied with. Keep this manual together with its illustrative guide for future  consultation. Should you transfer the appliance to another user, make sure you hand over this documentation as well.

SAFETY NOTES

  • After unpacking, make sure the appliance is intact, complete with all its parts as shown in the illustrative guide and with no sign of damage. If in any doubt, do not use the appliance and contact an authorised  service centre.
    CAUTION! Remove any communication material such as labels, tags etc. from the appliance before use.
    WARNING! Risk of suffocation. Children shall not play with the packaging. Keep the plastic bag out of the reach of children.

  • This appliance must be used only for the purpose for which it was designed, namely as a hair straightener for home use. Any other use is considered not compliant with the intended use and therefore  dangerous.

  • Before connecting the appliance to the mains supply, make sure that the voltage and frequency indicated on the technical data of the appliance correspond to those of the mains supply. The rating is on the  appliance or on the power supply unit, if any (see illustrative guide).

  • This appliance can work automatically at a frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or  instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without  supervision.

WARNING! Burn hazard. Keep appliance out of reach from young children, particularly during use and cool down.

  • DO NOT use the appliance with wet hands, damp feet or barefoot.

  • DO NOT pull the supply cord or the appliance itself to remove the plug from the socket.

  • DO NOT pull or lift the appliance by the supply cord.

  • DO NOT expose the appliance to humidity, to the effects of weather (rain, sun, etc.) or to extreme temperatures.

  • DO NOT leave the appliance unattended while it is connected to the power supply.

  • Always disconnect the appliance from the mains supply before cleaning or performing maintenance and when the appliance is not in use.

  • If the appliance is faulty or malfunctions, switch it off and do not tamper with it. Contact an authorised technical service centre for any repairs.

  • If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by an authorised technical service centre, so as to prevent all risks.

  • When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.

  • For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA (ideal 10 mA) is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
    WARNING! DO NOT use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.

  • This appliance shall not come into contact with water, other liquids, sprays, steam. For any cleaning and maintenance operation refer to the instructions in the relevant chapter.

  • This appliance must only be used on human hair.
    DO NOT use the appliance on animals or on wigs and hair pieces made of synthetic material.

  • See the external packaging for the characteristics of the appliance.

  • Use the appliance only with the supplied accessories that are an essential part of the appliance.

USEFUL TIPS

You will learn the application time required to achieve the required effect on your hair during the first few times you use it.

  • Ensure your hair is dry, clean and without any trace of hairspray, hair mousse or gel.
  • Comb your hair ensuring there are no knots. Start straightening from the nape of the neck, proceed on the sides and finish on the forehead.
  • During use, when the plates heat and cool, position the appliance on a smooth and heat resistant surface.
  • While straightening, be careful not to near the plates too much to the sensitive parts of the face, ears, neck or head.
  • Leave the plates to cool down completely when finished, before putting the appliance away.

USE

WARNING! This appliance is not to be used if it has been dropped or if there are visible signs of damage.
WARNING! DO NOT use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water. Never place the appliance into water.
WARNING! Risk of fire. DO NOT use flammable products on hair or on the appliance.
CAUTION! Do not pour diluting agents, scented liquids or descaling agents into the reservoir such substances can damage the product.
CAUTION! Do not use water from dryers, air-conditioners, tumble dryers, filtered water with water softeners and rain water.

NOTE: The reservoir may contain some water as each product is tested before being put on the market.
FILLING THE RESERVOIR
NOTE: Only fill the water reservoir (8) if you wish to use steam to straighten your hair

  1. Fill the bottle (12) with tap water.
  2. Slide the water reservoir (8) towards the rear of the appliance to take it out. [Fig.B1]
  3. Open the rubber cap (9) positioned on the rear of the reservoir (8) making sure not to tear it when you do so.
  4. Take the top cap off the bottle (12) and place the tip in the larger hole of the water reservoir (8).
  5. Fill the water reservoir (8), keeping it slightly tilted with the rounded part facing downwards.
  6. Close the rubber cap (9) and make sure that the tank (8) is completely dry before putting it back in place.
  7. Slide the reservoir (8) in its seat towards the front of the appliance until you hear a “click”. [Fig.B2]

ON/OFF
NOTE: Always keep the heating plates clean to ensure that the straightener offers the best performance.

  1. Connect the cable (7) to the power supply.

  2. Switch the appliance on by pressing the ON/OFF button (5).

  3. Select one of the 4 temperature values (170°C – 185°C – 200°C- 230°C) by pressing the + or – button (4).
    NOTE: The straightener features an electronic temperature regulation system. This means that the temperature of the straightener can be adjusted to suit the hair type: 170°C: recommended for fine hair 185°C: recommended for medium hair 200 – 230°C: recommended for thick hair
    In case of doubts, always begin with the lowest temperature, increasing it gradually until you find the ideal temperature.

  4. The appliance is ready for use when the temperature shown on the LED display (3) stops flashing and you hear two consecutive beeps.

  5. After having selected the desired temperature, the button lock can be activated by pressing the + button (4A) for a few seconds.
    This function prevents accidental temperature changes while using the straightener. The lock can be deactivated by pressing the + button (4A) again for a few seconds.

  6. When you have finished styling your hair, switch the appliance off by pressing the ON/OFF button (5). Wait for the appliance to cool down. Disconnect the plug and let the appliance cool completely.

AUTO-OFF FUNCTION
The straightener features the auto-off function after 60 minutes of no use.
To switch it back on, press the ON/OFF button (5).
PREPARING YOUR HAIR

  • Your hair must be dry and must not have any cosmetic styling products in it.
  • Before straightening your hair, carefully comb any knots out.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

WARNING!
RISK OF SCALDING. When steam first starts coming out, do not press the heating plates without straightening your hair to prevent drops of boiling water from coming out.
WARNING! Do not press the heating plates multiple times with the appliance switched off or in stand-by to prevent water from coming out.
WARNING!
RISK OF SCALDING. During use, take care not to place the straightener too close to your face, ears, neck or scalp.

NOTE: For steam to start coming out, keep the appliance horizontal when the selected temperature value stops flashing on the LED display (3) and press the heating plates fully down about 5 times. During this  operation make sure that the steam activation button (10) is fully pressed.
Thereafter, steam will come out every time the plates are pressed.

  1. Take a thin, not large lock of hair between your fingers and place it between the heating plates (1/2) starting from the roots.
  2. With one hand hold the lock taut and with the other slide the straightener closed from the roots to the ends. The appliance is fitted with a removable comb (11). If you want to use it, you are advised to slide the  straightener along your hair with the comb facing downwards (FIG B3). If you want to remove it, slide it out (FIG B.4).
  3. Repeat the same on every lock of hair.
  4. When all the locks are straight, turn the appliance off and unplug it from the power socket.
  5. Let the appliance cool completely..

SILICONE MAT (13)
This has a dual function:

  1. Support base for the straightener while you are using it, to protect surfaces.
  2. A protective cover allowing the straightener to be kept closed and put away safely (wrap the mat around the straightener and fasten the buttons).

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

WARNING! Always disconnect the appliance from the mains before cleaning or performing maintenance.
WARNING! Make sure all cleaned parts are completely dry before reusing the appliance.

  • Wait for the heating plates (1/2) to cool down.
  • Clean the surface of the heating plates (1/2) and the handle with a soft, damp cloth.

TROUBLESHOOTING

STORAGE

WARNING! Risk of fire. Wait for the appliance to cool completely before storing it.
WARNING! DO NOT wrap the supply cord around the appliance.
WARNING! Store the appliance so that no object may accidentally go into and damage it.

The appliance can be hung from the hook (6).
If you do not use the appliance for a long time:

  • Clean the appliance as described in the “Cleaning” chapter.
  • Store the appliance in a dry and clean place.

DISPOSAL
The packaging of the appliance is made of recyclable materials. Dispose of it in accordance with the environmental protection regulations.
Pursuant to Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), the crossed bin symbol on the appliance or its packaging indicates that the appliance must be disposed of separately from  other waste at the end of its useful life.
The user must therefore take the appliance to an appropriate recycling centre for electrical and electronic equipment. Alternatively, instead of handling the disposal, the user can hand over the appliance to the  retailer when a new, equivalent one is purchased. The user can hand over electronic products measuring less than 25 cm to retailers of electronic products having a sales area of at least 400 m2 free of charge and with no obligation to buy. Appropriate separate collection for the subsequent procedure for the decommissioned appliance for recycling, which includes treatment and environmentally friendly disposal helps prevent  adverse effects on the environment and health and promotes reusing and/or recycling materials that the appliance consists of.

ASSISTANCE AND WARRANTY

The appliance is guaranteed for a period of two years from the date of delivery. Evidence shall be taken as the date indicated on the receipt/invoice (provided it is legible), unless the buyer can prove that the delivery occurred later.
In the event of a defect in the product which existed prior to the date of delivery, appliance repair or replacement is guaranteed free of charge, unless one of the two solutions is disproportionate to the other. The  buyer has the obligation to notify an authorised Service Centre of the non-conformity within two months from discovering the defect.
The warranty does not cover any part that may be defective due to:
a. transport damage or accidental drops,
b. incorrect installation or an inadequate electrical system,
c. repairs or alterations made by unauthorised personnel,
d. poor or incorrect maintenance and cleaning,
e. product and/or product parts subject to wear and/or consumables, including the reduction in battery usage time due to the use or time, if present,
f. failure to comply with the operating instructions and/or negligent or careless use,
g. Twisted or bent power cord due to negligence or pulled,
h. Accidental falling during use,
i. Use of non-original maintenance components or accessories,
l. Use of chemical products to clean the appliance,
m. Use of hairspray or other sprays during use.

The list above is purely indicative and not exhaustive and in any case, this warranty shall not cover all circumstances that cannot be attributed to manufacturing defects of the appliance.
In addition, the warranty does not cover any case of improper use of the appliance and professional use.
All liability is disclaimed for any damage that may directly or indirectly be caused to persons, property and pets as a result of failure to comply with all the instructions provided in the “Instructions and Warnings Booklet” regarding appliance installation, use and maintenance.
This is without prejudice to any contractual warranty claims against the seller.
Methods of support
Appliance repairs must be carried out by an authorised Service Centre. If the faulty appliance is under warranty, it must be sent to the Service Centre together with a fiscal document that can confirm the date of sale  or delivery.
