PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
BEFORE FIRST USE
Before using this appliance for the first time, please ensure the following
steps are taken:
- Carefully unpack the 1. SL Deep Fat Fryer and all parts. Remove all packaging materials, including any stickers or labels.
- Clean the HOUSING and OIL POT with a damp cloth or sponge. Wipe dry with a soft dry cloth.
WARNING! Do not immerse the Deep Fat Fryer or the cord in water or any other liquid.
- Clean the LID with a damp cloth or sponge.
- Wash the FRYING BASKET in warm, soapy water, or place it on the top shelf of a dishwasher.
- Position the Deep Fat Fryer on a dry, level, and heat-resistant surface.
- Pinch the ends of the BASKET HANDLE together, position at the bottom of the handle bracket, and release through the small holes. Pull back to click into place.
OPERATION
CAUTION: Make sure that the appliance is switched off and unplugged from the mains.
- Open the LID.
- Remove the FRYING BASKET from the OIL POT and fill the OIL POT with fresh cooking oil.
CAUTION: Ensure you fill the OIL POT past the minimum mark but do not
exceed the maximum mark (1. SL) as indicated on the inside.
IMPORTANT: Butter, margarine, olive oil, or animal fat should not be used
due to their lower smoking temperature.
- Plug the Deep Fat Fryer into a suitable socket and use the TEMPERATURE DIAL to set the desired temperature. The TEMPERATURE INDICATOR LIGHT will turn red to indicate that the Deep Fat Fryer is heating up.
- Once it reaches the set temperature, the TEMPERATURE INDICATOR LIGHT will turn off. At this point, slowly lower the FRYING BASKET containing your food into the OIL POT.
CAUTION: In order to avoid the risk of scalding caused by splashing oil,
we recommend wearing oven gloves to slowly lower the FRYING BASKET.
NOTE: The TEMPERATURE INDICATOR LIGHT will switch on and off during
operation. This is completely normal and indicates that the set temperature is
being maintained by the thermostat.
- Once the food has finished cooking, carefully lift the LID.
CAUTION: Take extra care when opening the LID as some steam may escape from inside.
- Use the HANDLE to lift the FRYING BASKET out of the oil to drain. Gently shake to remove excess oil.
- Leave the FRYING BASKET to rest on the small bracket on the FRYING BASKET. This allows for any excess oil to drip from the fried food.
- Gently shake the FRYING BASKET again, and then place the food on a paper towel.
- Turn the TEMPERATURE DIAL to the off position and unplug the appliance. Leave the appliance and the oil to cool down completely.
COOKING GUIDELINES
NOTE: Frozen foods will lower the temperature of the oil. Avoid adding
too much-frozen food to the FRYING BASKET at once. Frozen foods will also take
slightly longer to cook.
NOTE: It is advised to coat low-starch foods before frying, as this will
ensure they are tasty and prevent them from drying out during cooking.
NOTE: The above table is for guide purposes only. Always ensure food is
cooked; however, personal preferences will vary.
WARNING! Ensure food is dry as dripping water into hot oil may cause oil
splashes and subsequent scalding.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: Before carrying out cleaning or maintenance, unplug the appliance from the mains.
Allow the appliance and any remaining oil to cool down completely.
CAUTION : Do not attempt to move or carry the Deep Fat Fryer whilst it is
still hot.
