WARNING

Read this instruction manual carefully before using the machine, for your own safety.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using the machine always observe the enclosed safety instructions as well as the additional safety instructions.

  • Do not use the appliance outdoors. Use the appliance as described in the manual. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage caused by wrong use of the appliance.
  • Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate of the heater.
  • Do not touch high voltage parts.
  • Do not touch the appliance when having wet hands.
  • Never use a damaged power cable. When it is damaged the power cable has to be replaced completely by a qualified technician.
  • Never use a damaged appliance.
  • Do not use the heater near inflammable materials, liquids and gasses.
  • Do not insert objects in any opening of the appliance.
  • Do not cover or obstruct the appliance. Risk of fire!
  • Children or persons who lack the knowledge or experience to use the device or whose physical, sensory or intellectual capacities are limited are not allowed to use the device without supervision or instructions by a person who is responsible for their safety.
  • This appliance is not a toy. Keep children away from the appliance. Never let them unsupervised near the heater.
  • Always keep the area of the power supply socket free when operating the appliance. You must always be able to unplug the appliance immediately.
  • The appliance cannot be used for warming up animals or animals exhibitions.
  • Please keep the instruction manual. When the owner of the appliance changes the instruction manual must be given to the new owner.

PACKAGING

  • Always check for transport damages after unpacking the appliance. Also check if the accessories, such as the tube, are included. When you notice damages or an incomplete appliance please contact your local dealer.
  • Never throw away the packaging carton. It could be necessary for storing the appliance or sending it back to the producer when it is damaged.
  • Always keep the packaging material on a safe place. For example plastic bags could be a dangerous toy for children.

POSITION

  • Place the appliance at least 50cm of inflammable objects and walls. The air near the appliance must circulate free.
  • Do not use the appliance in humid rooms or near baths, showers, swimming pools, …
  • The appliance must be placed on a steady surface. Avoid tilting of it.
  • Do not place the appliance near a power socket. You must be able to unplug the appliance immediately when necessary.

POWER SUPPLY CABLE

  • Always keep the supply cord on a way that it does not disturb people. Only use a suitable extension cord according to the specifications of this machine.
  • The hot parts of the appliance may not touch the power supply cable.
  • Never unplug the power supply cable by pulling the cable. Do not use the cable for moving the appliance.
  • Do not wind the power supply cable around the appliance. Never use the appliance when the cable is winded.
  • Never put the supply cable on objects with sharp edges. Never place it on or near a hot cooking place or open fire.

USE

When the heaters are turned on for the first time they may emit some smell. This will disappear when the heater has been used after some time.

  • Plug in the appliance.
  • Turn the thermostat to maximum.
  • Turn on the heater:
    • Switch 1 = 750W
    • Switch 2 = 1250W
    • Switch 1 + 3 = 2000W
  • When the heating elements are switched on the lights will be illuminated.
  • When the desired temperature has been reached, the thermostat knob should be turned slowly anti-clockwise until a click of the thermostat is heard. The thermostat will keep the temperature from now on.
  • When the temperature declines the thermostat will be switched on automatically until the desired temperature is reached again.
  • To switch off the appliance you must put the thermostat on 0 and switch off the switches. Always unplug the appliance.

OVERHEATING PROTECTION

The internal overheating protection will be activated automatically when the appliance is overheated. In this case you must unplug the appliance. After a period of cooling down you can use it again. When the overheating protection is activated for several times you must contact your local dealer.

MAINTENANCE

  • Before cleaning, unplug the appliance. Never use water for cleaning.
  • Use a moist rag for cleaning.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water.
  • Do not touch the appliance immediately after it has stopped working. It could be very hot.

ENVIRONMENT

Should your appliance need replacement after extended use, do not put it in the domestic waste but dispose of it in an environmentally safe way.

General Warranty Conditions Concerning Consumer Products (for EU):

  • All consumer products are subject to a 24-month warranty on production flaws and defective material as from the original date of purchase.
  • Velleman® can decide to replace an article with an equivalent article, or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement of the article is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion. You will be delivered a replacing article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year after the date of purchase and delivery, or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% of the retail value in case of a flaw occurred in the second year after the date of purchase and delivery.

Not covered by warranty:

  • all direct or indirect damage caused after delivery to the article (e.g. by oxidation, shocks, falls, dust, dirt, humidity…), and by the article, as well as its contents (e.g. data loss), compensation for loss of profits;
  • consumable goods, parts or accessories that are subject to an aging process during normal use, such as batteries (rechargeable, non rechargeable, built-in or replaceable), lamps, rubber parts, drive belts… (unlimited list);
  • flaws resulting from fire, water damage, lightning, accident, natural disaster, etc.…;
  • flaws caused deliberately, negligently or resulting from improper handling, negligent maintenance, abusive use or use contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions;
  • damage caused by a commercial, professional or collective use of the article (the warranty validity will be reduced to six (6) months when the article is used professionally);
  • damage resulting from an inappropriate packing and shipping of the article;
  • all damage caused by modification, repair or alteration performed by a third party without written permission by Velleman®.
  • Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed (preferably in the original packaging), and be completed with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description.
  • Hint: In order to save on cost and time, please reread the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to presenting the article for repair. Note that returning a non-defective article can also involve handling costs.
  • Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs.
  • The above conditions are without prejudice to all commercial warranties.
