NETGEAR WAG302 ProSafe Wireless Access Point
Introduction
Protect and Expand Your Intelligent Wireless Network
It’s easy to be impressed by NETGEAR®’s business-class WAG302. The WAG302
Access Point supports both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz 54 Mbps radio transmission with
up to 108 Mbps in both 802.11g and 802.11a in turbo mode to support up to 128
simultaneous wireless clients and client types within the same coverage area.
With AutoCell™ cognitive radio software, the WAG302 offers optimum WLAN
performance in high-density, high-interference deployments.
Built-in security and manageability features make it ideal for any organization or institution facing increasing mobile computing needs. To protect sensitive communications and data on the wireless LAN, the WAG302 Access Point offers the most advanced and comprehensive set of authentication and encryption security capabilities on the market today. Web-based network management tools make configuration and remote management of the network painless, while SNMP and ProSafe Network Management System NMS100 integrate the wireless LAN with your wired infrastructure. Wi-Fi certification ensures interoperability with Wi-Fi-certified products from other vendors.
Secure and Extensible
NETGEAR access points support the highest available security standard, WPA2 Enterprise. With 40/64-, and 128/152-bit WEP shared key encryption and advanced AES 256-bit encryption ensures the privacy of all wireless transmissions. 802.1x RADIUS server authentication controls wireless network access and centralizes user authorization across the network. TKIP dynamic key assignment improves security and simplifies deployment. MAC addresses access control lists control access to network resources. Other security measures include blocking SSID broadcast, rogue access point detection and notification, secure management interfaces: SSL and SSH, and intra-cell blocking to prevent client-to-client snooping – also supports VPN pass- through.
Efficient
With radio frequency (RF) management technology, the wireless network self-
optimizes. The WAG302 with AutoCell intelligently chooses channels and
dynamically adjusts the power levels
to ensure coverage and avoid interference. The embedded IEEE 802.3af power
over ethernet (PoE) port expands installation options by eliminating the need
to locate the WAG302 near a power outlet. Supports Simple Network Management
Protocol (SNMP) MIB I, MIB II, and 802.11MIB. The console port facilitates
local configuration and monitoring. Users can remotely configure, update, and
monitor multiple WAG302 via FTP. Supports Wireless Distribution System (WDS)
for bridging and repeater modes – even able to be configured as a bridge and
access point simultaneously.
Simple
Cost-effective and simple to install and use. Plenum rated – appropriate for placement above drop-down ceilings and under raised floors. Equipped with the convenient Smart WizardTM browser-based interface for quick installation. Fitted with two powerful detachable 5 dBi antennas -expand wireless capacity and range with NETGEAR ProSafe antennas for the 2.4 GHz frequency band. IEEE 802.11e** Quality of Service (QoS) support makes it easy to handle Voice over IP (VoIP) and multimedia applications. Protected with a NETGEAR 3-year warranty.
