Product Information

The HBG-160 series is a 160W Constant Voltage + Constant Current LED Driver. It is designed for DA Type applications and comes with a circular metal housing with class design. The driver has a built-in active PFC function and is rated IP67/IP65 for indoor or outdoor installations. It offers various function options such as output adjustable via potentiometer, 3 in 1 dimming, and DALI control technology. The driver has a typical lifetime of over 50,000 hours and comes with a 5-year warranty. The HBG-160 series LED driver is suitable for LED bay lighting, LED stage lighting, and LED spot lighting applications. It is also Type HL certified for use in Class I, Division 2 hazardous (Classified) locations.

Product Usage Instructions

To use the HBG-160 series LED driver, follow these instructions:

  1. Ensure that the input voltage range is within 90-305VAC or 127-417VDC.
  2. Select the appropriate model based on the desired output voltage and current:
    • HBG-160-24: DC Voltage – 24V, Rated Current – 6.5A, Rated Power – 156W
    • HBG-160-36: DC Voltage – 36V, Rated Current – 4.4A, Rated Power – 158.4W
    • HBG-160-48: DC Voltage – 48V, Rated Current – 3.9-6.5A (adjustable), Rated Power – 156W
    • HBG-160-60: DC Voltage – 60V, Rated Current – 2.6-4.4A (adjustable), Rated Power – 158.4W
  3. Connect the input terminals of the LED driver to the appropriate power source.
  4. Connect the output terminals of the LED driver to the LED lighting fixture.
  5. If required, adjust the output current using the built-in potentiometer or utilize the 3 in 1 dimming function or DALI control technology based on the specific function option of the LED driver model.
  6. Ensure that the LED driver is installed in a suitable location,either indoor or outdoor, based on its IP67/IP65 rating.
  7. Follow the safety guidelines and regulations specified in the user manual for proper installation and operation of the LED driver.

Description

HBG-160 series is a 160W AC/DC LED driver featuring the circular shape design. It operates from 90~305VAC and offers the dual modes constant voltage and constant current output models with different rated voltage between 24Vand 60V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40 °C ~ +85°C case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HBG-160 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

8.  The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again.

9.  To fulfill requirements of the latest ErP regulation for lighting fixtures, this LED driver can only be used behind a switch without permanently connected to the mains.

10.  This series meets the typical life expectancy of >50,000 hours of operation when Tcase, particularly tc point (or TMP, per DLC), is about 70℃ or less.

  • This series is able to work in either Constant Current mode (a direct drive way) or Constant Voltage mode (usually through additional DC/DC driver) to drive the LEDs.

  • Output constant current level can be adjusted by applying one of the three methodologies between DIM+ and DIM-: 1 ~ 10VDC, or 10V PWM signal or resistance.
  • Direct connecting to LEDs is suggested. It is not suitable to be used with additional drivers.
  • Dimming source current from power supply: 100μA (typ.)

Caution

  • Please inspect the appearance of the driver if the package is damaged. There should not be any cracks.
  • Please do not drop or bump the driver.
  • All screws including the suspension screw should be paired with a spring washer and locked tight.
  • The entire luminaire, including the driver, should be limited to 10Kg or less.
  • The luminaire should be cautiously protected from damage due to shock throughout packaging and transportation.
