Product Usage Instructions

1. After unpacking the scooter, carefully check the contents of the package. If there are any missing or damaged parts, please contact a local authorized service station.

5. To turn on/off the scooter, press the Multifunction button 1 (Power On/Off).
6. To switch on/off the light, press the Multifunction button 2 (Switch Light).
7. To switch between speed modes, press the Multifunction button 3 (Switch Speed Mode).
8. To turn on/off the left/right turning light, press the Turning light button.
9. To handle the brake, use the Thumb shifter.
10. To accelerate, press and hold the Multifunction button while coasting at 3km/h under startup state. Release the button to decelerate.
11. Once powered on, the scooter motor brakes after holding the handle brake, and the taillight flashes.

• Turning light indicator: The indicator is displayed after turning button is pressed
• Speed: Switch between imperial mph and metric km/h on the app
• Gear model: Display the current riding mode, including Assist gear, D gear, S gear and X gear
• Headlight: Displayed when the headlight is on and off when the headlight is off
• Bluetooth: Displayed when Bluetooth is connected successfully, off when it is not connected
• Cruise control: Displayed when the cruise control is enabled
• Abnormal temperature: Displayed when the battery pack or electric control is overheated
• Fault warning: When a fault occurs, the fault warning icon lights up and a fault code is displayed
• Parking mode: Displayed when operating “Bluetooth parking” on the “Yadea ” app
• Battery level: To display the battery level

Multifunction button

1. Single Press & Long Press
   Power on, screen lights up.(It will shut down automatically after 10 minutes without operation when powered on.) Single press & long press, power off, screen goes out.
   

2. Single & Short Press
   Turn the headlights on/off.

3. Double press & continuous short press
   Cycle switch gear modes; default setting is D gear, and it maintains the gear setting before shut down when it is restartedafter a power failure.

Bluetooth Parking

• The “Bluetooth Parking” function is disabled by default setting, and shall be enabled by connecting the scooter via “Yadea ” App.
• In the parking mode, the screen goes out and only the parking icon is displayed; and the key is locked, the thumb shifter and handle brake are disabled. This mode is released automatically when the battery runs out. After 6 hours parking, this mode will be released automatically, and the scooter will shut down automatically.
• In the parking mode, when any vibration or displacement is detected from the scooter, the buzzer alarms and the front and rear lights flash until the abnormal behavior disappears.
• The parking mode will be released and the screen will return to full display when a Bluetooth signal is detected within about 2 meters (the actual distance shall be subject to the Bluetooth signal strength).

Cruise Control

• The cruise control function shall be activated via the ” Yadea ” App.
• Once activated, in D mode, S mode and X mode, when the speed is ≥6km/h, press the thumb shifter button to keep a constant speed for 5 s, and wait till the buzzer “beeps”, the scooter will enter the cruise control mode. At this point, the scooter will run at the current speed when the throttle is released.
• When riding in the cruise control mode, hold the handle brake /press the thumb shifter again, the cruise control will be released, and the scooter returns to normal riding control.

Note: To avoid danger and accidents, do not use the cruise control function under complicated road conditions or bad weather.

Gyroscope
The gyroscope is used to detect the tilting condition of a running scooter. When the tilting angle reaches 45°, the power output will be automatically shut down to avoid secondary injuries.

Energy Recycle

• The “Energy Recycle” function on the thumb shifter shall be activated via the “Yadea ” app. This function provides three levels of adjustable strength: high, medium and low.
• Once activated, partly releasing the thumb shifter (reduced but not released) during a ride activates the “Energy Recycle” braking function.
• During riding, the EABS braking shall be activated by holding the handle brake tight, which will then store electric energy through Energy Recycle braking, and further converts it into riding energy.

Installation Steps

1. Open the parking stand, expand the stand pipe and keep the scooter stable.
2. Connect the handle with both ends of the power cable inside the stand pipe, and put the cable into the stand pipe, then install the handle on the stand pipe.
3. Lock the screws with the installation tool (3mm) included in the package.
4.  After the assembly, it is necessary to connect thecharger and wait for 2-3 seconds for activation. The scooter will be turned on and ready for use after the battery is activated.

Tips

1. Please install the components according to the instructions. Improper installation may cause safety risks.
2. Please pay attention to the correct angle when installing the handlebars.
3. Please pay attention to installation of the scooter and stand pipe to avoid injury caused by tilting.
4. Do not turn on the power before the installation is completed, and install with appropriate force to avoid components damage or body failure.

How to Charge

• Open the charging port cover and connect the charger properly.

Caution

• Use the original Yadea charger. Do not use any other types of charger.
• Never connect the power supply and charger when the charger or power outlet is wet.
• The red light of the charger is always on, indicating that the charger is charging, and the green light is always on, indicating that the charging is completed; Please disconnect the power supply after charging.
• When not charging or after charging, please fasten the charging port cover.
• It is recommended to place the scooter outdoors for charging, but avoid rain and direct sunlight.

Attention
When the scooter is turned on for the first time, the riding mode shall not be switched when it is not activated, and the buzzer will continue to sound. The scooter must be activated via the “Yadea Smart Riding” App before use.

App Connection and Setting

• The scooter without being activated will keep beeping when turned on, and its speed is limited to 10 km/h.
• Scan the QR code to download and install the app.
• Open Mi Home / Xiaomi Home app.
•  Follow the on-screen instructions in the app toactivate your scooter for the first use.
• Tap “+” on the upper right, and then follow prompts to add your device.
• The beeping sound will not stop until the scooter is activated.

First Use Tips

• When using the scooter for the first time, please practice according to this manual. Do not ride the scooter before fully mastering the riding skills.
• There is a risk of falling or getting injured during the ride, so please wear a helmet and safety gear at all times. The gear should be of acceptable quality and worn in the correct position.
• For the first ride, please choose open areas and flat roads. Do not ride on complicated roads.

Inspection before Riding

1. Brake Whether the brakes are loose/ too tight
2. Thumb shifter Whether it could spring back regularly
3. Handle Whether it could rotate flexibly, and if it is loose or stuck
4. Folder Whether the screw at the folding part is loose or wobbly
5. Dashboard Whether each indicator is displayed regularly
6. Battery life Turn on the power switch and check whether the battery level is in regular position
7. Front and rear lights Whether it is in good condition and could work regularly
8. Reflector Whether there is any damage or contamination

Caution
Please take a basic check before each ride. In case of any obvious abnormality or alarm, do not use the scooter. If you have any questions, please contact an authorized service station for professional guidance or maintenance services.

How to learn to ride

• Stand on the pedal with one foot and push the other foot backward to boost the ride.
• When the scooter starts to coast, step on the pedal with both feet, keep balance, and gently press the thumb shifter to accelerate.
• To avoid misoperation, thumb shifter shall be used to accelerate after the scooter coasts to 3km/h.

How to learn to ride

• During riding, release the thumb shifter to slow down, grasp the handle brake to make a brake, and grasp the handle brake vigorously to make an emergency brake.
• An emergency brake may cause you falling down and suffering serious injury due to loss of traction.Therefore, please maintain appropriate riding speed and be aware of potential danger.
• During steering, please slow down and turn the handle slowly.
• Please keep a proper riding speed to avoid sudden sharp turns and injuries.

Prohibitions of Riding

• Avoid riding in inclement weather and do not ride in water.
• Do not hang heavy objects on the handlebars.
• Do not ride with only one hand.
• Do not ride on a motorway.
• Do not ride a scooter up and down steps, stairs and jump over obstacles.
• Do not touch the wheel hub, motor and brake system.
• Do not ride in high heels and slippers.
• Do not carry passengers or children.

Folding and unfolding steps

Folding

1. Turn off the scooter before folding.Hold the stand pipe, push the safety button, open the folding handle, and fold the stand pipe.
2. Open the upper buckle, align to the hook at the rear, and hook the two.

Unfolding

• Turn the buckle to disengage from the hook and lift the handle. Unfold the stand pipe to the maximum position, hold the pipe and press the folding handle down until the pipe is locked.

Carrying and Transportation

• Turn off the scooter before transportation.
• Once folded, the scooter shall be carried by a single person holding the balance point on the stand pipe with both hands.

Caution

• Keep away from water during transportation. Avoid heavy pressure, impact, serious drop or strong vibration. In case of these situations or liquid seeping, battery and circuit may be damaged.
