PART2 Routine Maintenance

Cleaning

  • When the surface is stained, wipe the whole scooter body with a piece of soft cloth dipped in a small amount of clean water, and then wipe the body till it is dry.
  • Do not directly splash a large amount of water on the brake components, motor and battery box, as the internal water will reduce the service life of the components.

Caution

  • Do not use alcohol, gasoline, acetone or other corrosive and volatile solvents to clean the scooter. These substances may seriously damage the appearance and internal structure of the scooter.
  • It is strictly prohibited to use pressure water and water gun to spray and wash, or use forced methods to clean the scooter.

Warning

  • Disconnect the power supply of the whole scooter and keep it in shutdown state before cleaning. Fasten the plastic cover of the charging port, otherwise there may be a risk of electric shock or serious damage to electronic components due to internal water ingress.
  • Never touch live parts with wet hands or metal conductors.

Storage

  • When using in summer, please pay attention to the ambient temperature of the scooter should not be higher than 40°C, and the scooter should not be exposed to outdoor sunlight for a long time.
  • When using in winter, please pay attention to the ambient temperature of the scooter should not be lower than -10 °C, if the use environment is lower than 0 °C, the scooter needs to be placed at normal room temperature for half an hour before charging.
  • For prolonged storage, keep the scooter in a flat, stable, dry and cool room to avoid prolonged exposure to the outdoor environment.  Sunshine and rain may cause corrosion or aging of scooter components and reduce the service life of battery pack.

Tire Maintenance

  • This scooter adopts inflated tires. To ensure riding safety, it is recommended to check the tire pressure once a month and inflate in time. Recommended inflation pressure range: 40-50psi.
  • As the wheel disassembly is a complex process, in case you need to replace the tire, please contact the professional maintenance personnel. Self-assembly may lead to component failure or instability of the scooter.

Battery Maintenance

  • Do not disassemble the battery by yourself. For any help, please contact Yadea customer service department or professional maintenance personnel.
  • Charge the battery between 0℃ – 45℃. When the battery power is lower than 20%, charge it in time to avoid battery power loss.
  • Battery performance and service life may be compromised when used at temperatures below 0 ℃.
  • Do not discard the battery pack at will. Please refer to the relevant local laws and regulations for the recycling and treatment methods of waste and damaged batteries to avoid environmental pollution.

Caution

  • When the scooter is turned off, the battery will continue to drain power.  Under normal conditions, a battery with 60% power will drain its stored power after about 180 days of standby.
  • For prolonged storage, the battery shall be kept at 60% electric capacity or more. It is recommended to charge the battery once every 30-60 days to avoid damage to the function of the battery due to too low discharge.
  • The intelligent device inside the battery could monitor the charging/discharging status of the battery, and the damage caused by overcharging or overdischarging is not covered by the warranty.

Warning

  • Do not use other models or brands of battery packs, as this may involve safety risks.
  • Do not disassemble, squeeze or puncture the product. Do not open or puncture the enclosure; avoid short circuit caused by metal objects touching battery contacts, which may cause battery damage or personal injury.
  • Do not throw this product into water, fire (including near heat sources such as stove and heater) or directly expose it to the environment over 50℃. Water ingress into the battery may cause damage to the internal circuitry and risk of fire or even explosion.
  • If water is suspected to enter the battery, stop using the battery immediately and contact the local service station for testing.
  • Do not attempt to take out the battery pack by yourself. It is very complicated to disassemble the battery, and mishandling will affect the use of the scooter.
  • Do not disassemble and repair the battery by yourself, which may cause battery failure, overheating and even fire risk.
  • Do not use the scooter at ambient temperatures that exceed the operating temperature range of the product, as high/low temperatures will limit the maximum power.
