Field Magnifier - Discription 2

Dear customer ,
Congratulations on purchasing this Eschenbach bright field magnifier – a quality product ‘Made in Germany’. We hope you enjoy using it every day.
Your bright field magnifier features a magnification of 2.2x (3,6x) and is typified by its elegant, well-thought out shape, which offers you a comfortable reading position from an oblique viewing angle. The integrated, cordless illumination by a modern, energy efficient light emitting diode (LED) is bright and nearly without wear.

Safety instructions

  • Risk of fire! Lenses used in optical equipment may cause considerable damage by their burning glass effect if used or stored incorrectly. Make sure that optical lenses are never left uncovered in the sunlight.
  • Risk of glare and injury! Never look at the sun through any optical equipment! Do not look directly at the light sources! Risk group 1 as per EN 62471:2008. Danger value in case of exposure (EHV): 2200 seconds in 800 mm. The free group limit values are complied with at a distance of 1.8 m. Retinal danger due to actinic light 400 nm to 780 nm.
  • Protect your bright field magnifier from knocks, strikes, moisture, and excessive heat. Never place your bright field mag- nifier on a heating element or in direct sunlight. Use of the storage pocket supplied is recommended.
  • Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. Make sure that they are correctly disposed of.

Use

Place the brightfield magnifier [1] with the even, flat side on the reading material so that the product is slightly inclined towards you.
Switch the lamp on by pressing the button [2]. Pressing the button again will switch off the lamp. The lamp will switch off automatically after 30 minutes to conserve battery power. If you still require the lamp, you can simply switch it back on.
Now adjust the distance between eye and reading material, until you see a sharp image. Use the most comfortable distance between your eye and bright field magnifier. It is dependent on the reading glasses being used and your eyes’ adaptability.
Switch off the lamp when done.

Changing batteries

Switch off the lamp.
Open the battery case [3] by sliding it up and taking it off the bright field magnifier.
Now remove the exhausted batteries and insert new batteries as shown in the diagram.

  • You need 3 batteries, type Mignon (AA/ LR 6)/1.5 V. Always insert three new batteries of the same type. Note the position of the respective positive pole (+)! The proper polarities are indicated in the battery case.

Close the battery compartment by placing it on the attachment plate [4] of the bright field magnifier and pushing it downwards until it clicks into place.
Note
If you normally wear glasses, you do not need to take them off. The bright field magnifier is designed to be used in conjunction with your ordinary reading glasses.

Care instructions

When the bright field magnifier is not being used, it should be kept covered or be stored in the enclosed microfibre bag.
Clean the lens with a soft, lint-free cloth (e.g. the microfibre bag or a spectacle cleaning cloth).
Very dirty lenses (e.g. with fingerprints) are most effectively cleaned using lukewarm water. Do not use any soap solutions that contain softeners, alcohol- based solvents, or abrasive cleansers.
These may damage the lenses.

Disposal

When the device reaches the end of its useful life, do not dispose of it with the normal household waste. Batteries and cells must not be disposed of in household waste! Ensure that they are disposed of properly!

Warranty

Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, we provide a warranty for the functioning of the product described in this manual with regard to faults arising in connection with manufacturing errors or material errors. In event of damage due to improper handling, including damage from a fall or impact, no warranty claim exists. Warranty claims are only accepted upon presentation of the sale receipt!
