Product Usage Instructions

  1. Safety Information:

    • Danger of fire! Lenses used in optical equipment may cause considerable damage through their burning glass effect if used or stored incorrectly. Never leave optical lenses uncovered in the sun.

    • Risk of blinding and injury! Never look directly into the sun
      or other bright light sources using optical devices.

    • Danger of tripping when wearing monocular spectacles.

    • Uni-adapt may not be used while driving automobiles.

    • Also inform other people and especially children about these safety measures.

    • Protect your monocular spectacles from knocks, bangs, moisture, and excessive heat.

    • When focusing the lenses, do not rotate past the limit stop.

  2. Adjusting the Monocular System:

    • Anatomical adjustments are carried out by the eyeglass optician.
    • Adjust side length.
    • Saddle bridge: adjust to correct fitting position with the fixing screws.
    • Inclination (Frame angle): adjust to suit head position of user.
  3. Fitting the Monocular:

    • The monocular can be fitted to the right or left eyepiece holder.
    • Depending on the length position of the monocular, the fitting ring can be attached behind or in front of the eyepiece holder by screwing it onto the thread of the monocular.
    • Insert monocular.
    • Using the fitting ring or the eyepiece cup holder, screw the monocular to the eyepiece holder.
    • Attach blinker to the other eyepiece holder.
  4. Setting the Pupil Distance (PD):

    • Adjust the near/far PD using the scale on the eye-side of the carrier frame.
    • Position the apex of the monocular lens as closely as possible to the eye to ensure the maximum possible viewing field for the user.
    • Once the PD has been set, lock the eyepiece holder with the clips.
  5. Operating Instructions:

    • The focus can be set by rotating the lens ring.
    • The focusing ring is difficult to rotate to prevent the focus setting from changing by itself.
    • For a secure fit, you can slide on the enclosed side ends onto the earpieces.
  6. Instructions for Care:

    • If the monocular spectacles are not in use, they should be stored in the case.
    • Clean the lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth (e.g. lens cleaning cloth). For harder to remove dirt (e.g. fingerprints), use commercially available cleaning products.

Adjusting the monocular system

Anatomical adjustments

  1. Adjust side length.
  2. Saddle bridge 10 : adjust to correct fitting position 5 with the fixing screws.
  3. Inclination (Frame angle): adjust to suit head position of user.

Fitting the monocular

  • The monocular can be fitted to the right or left eyepiece holder 6. Depending on the length position of the monocular, the fitting ring 8 can be attached behind or in front of the eyepiece holder 6 by screwing it onto the thread of the monocular 9.
    1. Insert monocular.
    2. Using the fitting ring 8 or the eyepiece cup holder, 7 screw the monocular to the eyepiece holder 6.
    3. Attach blinker 4 to other eyepiece holder.

Setting the pupil distance (PD)

  1. Adjust the near / far PD using the scale on the eye-side 3 of the carrier frame 12.
    • Position the apex of the monocular lens as closely as possible to the eye to ensure the maximum possible viewing field for the user.
  2. Once the PD has been set, lock the eyepiece holder 6 with the clips 2.

Operating instructions

  • The focus can be set by rotating the lens ring 10 The focusing ring is difficult to rotate in order to prevent the focus setting from changing by itself.
  • For a secure fit you can slide on the enclosed side ends onto the earpieces.

Instructions for care

If the monocular spectacles are not in use, they should be stored in the case. Clean the lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth (e. g. lens cleaning cloth), for harder to remove dirt (e. g. finger prints) use commercially available cleaning products.

Warranty

Within the parameters of the applicable statutory provisions, we provide a warranty for the functioning of the product described in this manual with regard to faults arising in connection with manufacturing or material defects. In the event of damage due to improper handling, including damage from a fall or impact, no warranty claim exists. Warranty claims are only accepted upon presentation of the sale receipt!
