General

1.1 Reading and looking after the user manual
This user manual belongs to this heated seat pad. It contains important information concerning operation and handling.
Read the user manual carefully, especially the safety instructions, before you use the heated seat pad. Failure to follow this user manual can result in serious personal injury or damage to the heated seat pad.
The user manual is based on the standards and regulations valid in the European Union. You must also observe the country-specific guidelines and laws when abroad.
Keep the user manual safe for further use.
Important instructions.

If you pass on the heated seat pad to a third party, you must also pass on this user manual with it.
1.2 Explanation of symbols
The following symbols and signal words are used in this user manual, on the heated seat pad or on the packaging.

Safety

2.1 Intended use
The heated seat pad is designed exclusively for heating of persons while driving. It is intended solely for private use and is not suitable for the commercial sector.
Use the heated seat pad only as described in this user manual. Any other use is considered to be improper and may result in damage to property or even personal injury. The heated seat pad is not a toy.
The manufacturer or dealer will not accept liability for damage caused by improper or incorrect use.
2.2 Safety instructions
DANGER
Danger to life!

Faulty attachment of the heated seat pad can prevent/distort the discharge of the seat airbag in case of a collision.

  • Use the heated seat pad only in such a way that the seat airbag is not covered or affected. For questions about the seat airbag read the hand- book for your car or ask your garage.
  • Strictly follow this user manual when attaching the heated seat pad.
  • Reposition the heated seat pad when shifted. If this is no longer possible due to deformation or advanced wear, remove the heated seat pad.

WARNING
Danger of electric shock!
Faulty electrical installation or excess supply voltage may cause an electric shock.

  • Only connect the heated seat pad to a 12V electrical power socket of a vehicle (cigarette lighter).
  • Ensure that the 12 V vehicle power socket is always easily accessible, so that you can quickly disconnected the power cable in the case of accident or malfunction.
  • Do not operate the heated seat pad if it has been visibly damaged or the connecting cable or the 12V plug is defective.
  • If the power cable of the heated seat pad is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person, to avoid danger.
  • Do not open up the heated seat pad but refer to a qualified servicing technician. Use a specialist workshop for this. Liability and warranty claims are excluded for repairs conducted independently, and for improper connection or incorrect operation.
  • When carrying out repairs, only parts may be used which comply with the original unit specifications. There are electrical and mechanical parts in this heated seat pad, which are essential to protect against sources of hazard.
  • Do not immerse either the heated seat pad or the power cable or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Never grasp the 12V plug with wet hands.
  • Never pull the 12V plug from the 12 V vehicle power socket with the power cable, but always grip it directly.
  • Never use the power cord as a carrying handle.
  • Keep the heated seat pad, the 12V plug and power cable away from open flames and hot surfaces.
  • Do not bend the power cable and do not place it over sharp edges.
  • Use the heated seat pad only in the interior of vehicles. Never operate it in the rain.
  • Ensure that children do not push objects into the heated seat pad.
  • If you are not using the heated seat pad, or cleaning it, or if an error occurs, turn the heated seat pad off and pull the 12V plug from the 12V vehicle power socket.
  • Unplug the power cord from the 12V vehicle power socket before cleaning and maintenance and after use.

WARNING
Risks to children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities (e.g. partially disabled, elderly persons with restricted physical and mental capabilities), or lack of experience and knowledge (for example, older children).

  • Children younger than 3 years must not use the heated seat pad because they are unable to respond to overheating.
  • Children older than 3 years are allowed to use the heated seat pad only if a parent or guardian has preset the control element or the child has been sufficiently instructed in how to safely operate the regulating and/or control unit.
  • This heated seat pad can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are under supervision or have been given instruction concerning the safe use of the heated seat pad and understand the resulting risks. Children must not play with the heated seat pad. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be undertaken by children without supervision.
  • Do not leave the heated seat pad unattended during operation.
  • Do not let children play with the packaging film. They can get caught up in packaging and suffocate while playing.

WARNING
Risk of burns!

During use, the heated seat pad will become warm.

  • Do not use the heating function with direct contact between the skin and the heated seat pad.
  • Do not use the heated seat pad with helpless persons, small children or persons who are insensitive to heat (e.g. diabetics, persons with disease-related skin changes or scarred skin in the area of use, after taking pain-relieving medication or alcohol) and other vulnerable people who are unable to react to overheating.
  • Do not use the heated seat pad on parts of the body which are inflamed, injured or swollen. If in doubt, refer to a doctor. Otherwise, inflammation, injury or swelling can worsen.
  • Make sure that you or someone else do not go to sleep while the heated seat pad is in operation.

NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the heated seat pad can cause damage to the heated seat pad.

  • Do not use blankets, pillows or covers on the heated seat pad.
  • Do not bring the power cable into contact with hot parts.
  • Never expose the heated seat pad to high temperatures (heating, etc.) or the influence of weather (rain, etc.).
  • Never immerse the heated seat pad in water to clean or use a steam cleaner for cleaning.
  • Do not use the heated seat pad if it has cracks or fissures or is deformed. Replace any damaged components only with matching original spare parts.
  • Do not insert needles or pointed objects in the heated seat pad.
  • To avoid overheating, do not operate the heated seat pad near to heat sources, open flames such as candles, or in direct sunlight.
  • When operating, ensure that the 12V plug is firmly plugged into the 12 V vehicle power outlet and it is free from dirt. In the case of insufficient contact between the plug and 12V vehicle power outlet, the vehicle vibration can lead to the power supply switching on and off for short intervals. This can lead to overheating.
  • Do not switch on the heated seat pad when folded or in a pushed-together condition.
  • Do not place heavy objects such as suitcases on the heated seat pad.

Checking heated seat pad and scope of supply

NOTICE
Risk of damage!
The heated seat pad can be easily damaged, if you carelessly open the packaging with a sharp knife or other sharp object.

  • Therefore, follow these steps very carefully when opening.
  1. Take the heated seat pad from the packaging and check whether the pad or individual parts are damaged. If this is the case, do not use the heated seat pad. Consult the manufacturer.
  2. Check whether the delivery is complete (see Fig. A).

Use

WARNING
Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the heated seat pad may cause personal injury and damage to the heated seat pad.

  • Before operating make sure that the 12V plug and the power cable are dry.
  • Turn off the heated seat pad immediately with any pain.
  • Do not bend or fold the heated seat pad and keep it away from water and other liquids.
  • Do not use heated seat pad near open flames or other heat sources such as strong sunlight.
  • Check for wear and damage of the heated seat pad regularly. If such signs are present, or the heated seat pad has been used improperly or stops working, do not use it any longer. Return the heated seat pad back to the merchant.

4.1 Fixing the heated seat pad
WARNING
Risk of injury!
Improper installation of heated seat pads may result in injury.

  • Fix the heated seat pad and the power cable so that the driver‘s freedom of movement is not restricted.
  1. Place the heated seat pad 3 on the car seat.
  2. Be sure to check that the heated seat pad does not cover any airbag and restricts it as a result.
  3. Attach the heated seat pad with the fastening straps 4 on the backrest of the car seat.
  4. Fix the heated seat pad by anchoring the tightening straps 5 and fastening hooks 6 to the seat surface.
  5. Make sure that the power cable is never pinched.

4.2 Operating the heated seat pad
Use heated seat pad only with the engine running.

  1. Plug the 12V plug 7 into the 12V vehicle power socket.
  2. Now select the desired heating level, by setting the slide switch 2 either to „LOW“ (35-45°C) or „HIGH“ (40-50°C). The power LED will light up.
  3. Turn off the heated seat pad by setting the slide switch to „OFF“.
  4. Then unplug the 12V plug from the 12V vehicle power socket.

Cleaning

NOTICE
Risk of short circuit!

Water penetrating into the housing can cause a short circuit.

  • Never immerse the heated seat pad in water.
  • Ensure that water does not get into the heated seat pad.

NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the heated seat pad can cause damage.

  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, brushes with metal or nylon bristles and sharp or metallic cleaning objects such as knives, scrapers and the like. This will damage the surface.
  • Never put the heated seat pad in the washing machine.
  1. Before cleaning unplug the 12V plug from the 12V vehicle power socket.
  2. Let the heated seat pad cool completely.
  3. Wipe the heated seat pad off with a slightly damp cloth.
  4. Allow all parts to dry completely afterwards.

Maintenance

WARNING
Risk of fire and injury!

Only use replacement fuses with the specified technical data.
There is a fuse in the 12V plug to protect the electrical system of the vehicle. Check and replace the fuse when the heated seat pad no longer works (see Fig. D).

  1. Unscrew the screw cap 11 counter clockwise from the 12V plug 7.
  2. Remove the plug tip 10.
  3. Remove the fuse 9.
  4. Insert a new glass tube fuse (F4AL250V) onto the spring 8.
  5. Place the plug tip back on top of the new fuse.
  6. Turn the screw cap clockwise to the 12V connector

Storage

  • Allow the heated seat pad to cool completely.
  • Store the heated seat pad in a clean, dry place.
  • Keep the heated seat pad out of reach for children.
  • Avoid that the heated seat pad is kinked during storage by heavy objects being placed on it.
  • Do not weigh down the heated seat pad with heavy objects.

Troubleshooting

For faults not listed here, please contact the manufacturer.

Fault Possible cause Rectification
The heated seat pad is not functio- ning. The 12V connector is not plugged
into the 1 2V vehicle power connector. Plug the 1 2V plug into the 1 2V

vehicle power socket correctly.
There is no vol- tage at the 1 2V vehicle power socket.| In many vehicles, the ignition must be turned on for the 1 2V vehicle power socket to be live.
The ignition is switched on but the heated
seat pad does not work.| The 12V electri- cal power socket fitting is dirty. The contact is therefore interrupted| Clean the 1 2V vehicle power socket properly.
The fuse of the 1 2V plug has blown.| Replace the fuse of the 1 2V plug, see section Maintenance.
The vehicle fuse has blown| Replace the vehicle fuse for the 12V vehicle power connector. Please refer to the handbook for your vehicle.

Disposal

11.1 Disposal of packaging
** Dispose of the packaging separated by type. Put paper board and cardboard in paper recycling, and plastic films in material recycling.
11.2 Disposal of old appliances

Old appliances must not be put in household waste!
If the heated seat pad is longer usable, each consumer is required by law to dispose of old appliances separately from household waste, e.g. at a collection site in his community/city district. This ensures that old appliances are properly used and negative effects on the environment are avoided. Therefore, electrical and electronic equipment is marked with the above symbol.
