Product Usage Instructions

Before First Use

  1. Ensure the lid is properly placed on the base.

Using the Coffee Grinder

  1. Press and hold the power button to activate the coffee grinder.
  2. The coffee beans will be ground for approximately 30 seconds.

Grind Settings

The grind settings depend on the amount of coffee and the grinding duration. A shorter grinding duration produces coarserground coffee. Refer to your coffee machine’s user manual for specific grind settings.

Grinding Tips

  1. A COARSE grind is generally used for percolators and coffee pots. A MEDIUM grind is used for filter coffee makers and steam espresso machines. A FINE grind is used for espresso machines with an electric pump.
  2. Adjust the grinding duration based on your taste and type of coffee beans.
  3. Grind only the necessary amount of coffee beans for the coffee you are brewing to ensure freshness.
  4. Avoid grinding pepper or other spices, as they can affect the flavor of your ground coffee.

Recycling

This product should not be disposed of with regular household waste. Follow the applicable rules in your country for the separate collection of electrical and electronic products. Proper disposal prevents negative consequences for the environment and public health. The packaging material of this product is 100% recyclable, so please recycle it separately.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Please read these instructions before operating the appliance andretain for future use.
  • The appliance is intended solely for domestic use within the home.
  • Fill the grinder only with coffee beans or dry herbs and never with a liquid. The use of liquids in the grinder can severely damage the device.
  • The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of anexternal timer or seperate remote-control system.
  • Before plugging into a socket, check whether the voltage in your home corresponds with the voltage printed at the bottom of the appliance.
  • Never let the power cord of the appliance hang over the edge of a table or counter, touch hot surfaces or become knotted.
  • Never place this appliance on or near a hot gas or electricburner or in such a place where it could touch a heated oven or microwave. Do not allow this appliance to come in contact with curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishtowels or otherflammable materials during use.
  • Always use the appliance on a secure, dry, level surface.
  • Always carry out regular checks of the power cord to ensure no damage is evident. Should there be any signs of damage to the power cord in the slightest degree, the entire appliance should be returned to the Customer Service Department.
  • For your own safety, only use the accessories and spare parts from the manufacturer which are suitable for the appliance.
  • Always return the appliance after a malfunction, or if it has beendamaged in any manner to the Customer Service Department for examination, repair or adjustment as special purpose tools are required.
  • Never unplug it from the socket by pulling the cable.
  • Always ensure that your hands are dry before handling the plug  or power cord.
  • An electrical appliance is not a toy and should therefore always be placed outside of the reach of children. Children are not always able to understand potential risks. Keep the appliance and its cordout of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • This appliance may be used by children over the age of 8 and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental skills or a lack of experience or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the appliance safely,and are fully aware of the consequent risks of use.
  • Children must not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless supervised.
  • Unplug the appliance as soon as you have finished using it and when you are cleaning it.
  • Attention: the knives are very sharp.
  • Never put non-food items into the jug to blend.
  • Do not leave foreign objects, such as spoons, forks or knives in thejug as this will damage the blades and other components when starting the appliance and may cause injury.
  • The accessories are not heat resistant and must not be heated in a microwave.
  • Should you decide not to use the appliance anymore, make itinoperative by cutting the power cord after removing the plug fromthe socket. We also recommend making all potentially dangerousparts of the appliance harmless, particularly for children whomight be tempted to play with them.
  • Never use the appliance if it is not working properly, or if ithas been damaged. Any intervention other than cleaning and normal maintenance by the customer must be carried out by an approved Service Centre.
  • Never immerse any part of the main body, power cord and plug into water or any other liquid to protect yourself against electrical hazards.
  • When the appliance is used for other purposes than intended, or is when it is not handled in accordance with the instructionmanual, the full responsibility for any consequences will rest with the user. Any damages to the product or other things are not covered by the warranty.
  • Legislation requires that all electrical and electronic equipment must be collected for reuse and recycling.Electrical and electronic equipment marked with the symbol indicating separate collection of such equipment must be returned to a municipal waste collection point.

PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Follow these instructions when using the coffee grinder for the first time: Carefully remove the coffee grinder from the packaging and remove all packaging material. Keep the packaging (plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. After unpacking the appliance, carefully check it for external damage that may have occurred during transport. Place the  coffee grinder on a sturdy flat surface. Wash the transparent lid with warm water and a mild detergent and then wipe it drythoroughly. Wipe the base of the coffee grinder with a lightly damp cloth and wipe the grinding chamber and blades with a lint-free cloth. Always fully unwind the cord.
Important: Never fill the grinding chamber with water.

USING THE COFFEE GRINDER

Check that the voltage stated on the information plate matches the voltage used in your region.
Place the base on a clean, flat and dry surface

  1. Insert the plug into the socket.

  2. Fill the grinding chamber with coffee beans, maximum 60 grammes or up to the maximum indication. Caution: do not add too much coffee to the grinding chamber.

  3. Check if the base [6] is clean, prior to use.

  4. Place the lid [2] on the grinding chamber and check that the on/off switch [1] is flush with the safety switch [5].
    Instruction: the appliance will not function if the lid is not placed correctly on the base.

  5. Hold down the on/off switch to activate the coffee grinder. It will take about 30 seconds to grind the coffee beans. Firmly hold the lid while grinding.
    Instruction: Preferably use the coffee grinder 45 minutes each time and then leave it off for 3 minutes.
    Do not constantly switch on the coffee grinder, this could cause problems with the motor.

  6. After grinding, gently tap on the lid to allow the coffee stuck in the grinding chamber to fall down.

  7. Look through the transparent lid to check if the coffee beans have been ground enough.
    Important: Only open the lid when the blades have reached complete standstill.

  8. Remove the plug from the socket after grinding and pour out the ground coffee.

  9. Leave the plug out of the socket when the coffee grinder is not being used.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Remove the plug from the wall socket before cleaning the coffee grinder.
Never submerge the cord, plug or base in water or other liquids.

  • After use, rinse the lid under the tap. It may also be cleaned in warm water and a little bit of washing-up liquid, the lid is not
    dishwasher-proof. Wipe the grinding chamber and blades with a lint-free cloth.
    Caution: the blades are very sharp.

  • The base can be wiped with a lightly damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. These could affect the base unit.

  • Dry all components thoroughly.

  • Never fill the grinding chamber with water or any other liquid.

  • Caution: do not use abrasive sponges or other aggressive cleaning agents.

  • Clean the appliance after each use.

THE GRINDING DEGREE

The grinding degree of the coffee depends on the filled amount and the grinding time. A shorter grinding time results in a coffee with a coarser grind. Also read the grinding degree instructions in the instruction manual for your coffee machine.

Espresso
Caution: Regardless of bean type and degree of roast, espresso coffee requires a fine grind.

  • 16 g (for 2 cups): max. 20 s
  • 32 g (for 4 cups): max. 25 s
  • 56 g (for 7 cups): max. 30 s

GRINDING TIPS

  3. For the freshest, most flavourful coffee, grind only the required amount for the coffee you are about to brew. Coffee beans that can be stored in air-tight containers in the freezer, can be ground while they are still frozen. The ground coffee remaining  in the coffee grinder ages quickly and will affect the flavour of the freshly ground coffee beans. Clean the grinding chamber, blades and lid after each use.
  4. The appliance is not suitable for grinding wet, very hard or elastic foods. Do not grind peanuts or kernels such as wheat, rice, barley or dried corn. Grinding these foods may damage the appliance. Do not use the appliance to grind ice cubes.
  5. Do not grind peppercorns or other spices, these products have a strong aroma and could affect the flavour of your ground coffee.

This symbol means that this product should not be disposed of with regular household waste (2012/19/EU).  Observe the rules that apply in your country for the separated collection of electric and electronic products.Correct disposal of the product prevents negative consequences for the environment and for public health. The packaging material of this product can be recycled 100%, return packaging material separately.
