Alcolizer HH4 Alcohol Tester
Passive Testing
It is recommended the subject not consume food, drink or smoke 15 minutes
prior to taking a test.
Press the Test key “ ” to turn the HH4 Alcohol Tester on.
Ensure the test type is set to “Passive Std” (no mouthpiece).
A “press passive test” message will display.
Press the Test key – the screen will display “Please Wait” then “Ready for
passive Test”.
Hold the instrument 50mm – 100mm in front of the subject’s mouth so that the
subject is breathing or talking directly into the device’s inlet.
If using pressure activated passive, instruct the donor to blow into the
device until you tell them to stop. The device will take a sample
automatically. If using button activated passive, instruct the subject to
count from 20 onwards in a one second rhythm until you tell them to stop.
While they are counting, press the Test key. You will hear 3 clicks.
Tell the subject to stop blowing or counting after the 3rd click.
The device will analyse, emit a long beep, and then display a text based
result.
A green screen with “Pass No Alcohol” text indicates alcohol is not detected.
A red screen with “Warning Alcohol Detected” text indicates alcohol is
detected.
In the latter case, the device automatically switches to a mouthpiece
“Standard” test displaying “press for active test”.
Mouthpiece Testing
The subject is not to consume food, drink or smoke 15 minutes prior to taking
a test.
Press the Test key “ ” to turn the HH4 Alcohol Tester on.
Ensure the test type is set to “Standard” (with mouthpiece).
A “press to test” message will display.
Attach an *Alcolizer approved mouthpiece. Press the Test key – the screen will
display “Please Wait” then “Blow”.
Hold the breathalyser in front of the subject’s mouth so that the subject can
blow into the mouthpiece.
Instruct the subject to take a deep breath and blow gently into the mouthpiece
until you tell them to stop.
You will hear a sequence of beeps, a click then a long beep to indicate the
test is complete.
Tell the subject to stop blowing.
The device will analyse and then display a colour coded numerical BrAC result.
A green screen with “0.000g/210L” BrAC indicates that alcohol is not detected.
A yellow screen with numerical BrAC indicates that alcohol is present but
under the preconfigured threshold BrAC level.
A red screen with numerical BrAC indicates that alcohol is detected and is
over locally accepted BrAC levels.
- Operate an Alcolizer HH4 Alcohol Tester in accordance with applicable regulations, policies and standards.
- Completion of Alcolizer Certified training is recommended prior to use.
- *Australian Standard certified for Active (Standard) tests when Alcolizer approved mouthpieces are utilised.
