EN Operation
General operation
1. Check the machine, its power cord and plug as well as accessories for damage before each use. Do not use the machine if it is damaged or shows wear. Take care of any problem you find or have the machine checked by qualified specialist.
2. Double check that the accessories and attachments are properly secured. 3. Always push the machine by its transportation handle (1). Keep the transportation handle (1) dry and
clean to ensure safe support. 4. Ensure that the air vents (13) are always unobstructed and clear. Clean them if necessary with a soft
brush. Blocked air vents may lead to overheating and damage the machine. 5. Switch the machine off immediately if you are disturbed while working by other people entering the
working area. Always let the machine come to complete stop before leaving it unattended. 6. Do not overwork yourself. Take regular breaks to ensure you can concentrate on the work and have full
control over the machine. 7. Inspect the material to be shredded before starting. Remove any objects or debris that could be thrown,
jammed or become entangled in the blades. Remove any soil from root balls. Foreign bodies like stones, glass, metals, fabrics or plastics must not enter the feeding funnel, these could damage the blades. 8. Always place the machine on firm, level ground. During operation, do not tilt or move the machine. 9. Allow the cutting blades to reach full speed before feeding the material into the feeding funnel. 10. Do not process soft waste such as kitchen rubbish into the feeding funnel, but compost them. 11. Long material extending out from the machine could lash out when being drawn in by the blades. Keep at safe distance. 12. Only insert as much material so that the feeding funnel will not be blocked up. 13. Keep hold of branches while feeding them into the machine until they are automatically drawn in. 14. Soft materials (e. g. leaves, stems) may block the opening of feeding funnel. Use plunger to push them onto the cutting blades if necessary. 15. Always feed the material, especially the branches, into the larger opening of the feeding funnel. 16. Keep to the working speed of the machine and do not overload it. 17. Keep a few dry branches for the end of the shredding task, as they will help clean the machine. 18. Only switch the machine off when all of the shredding material has passed through the discharge chute. Otherwise, the discharge chute may jam the next time you switch the machine on. 19. Ensure the shredded material can fall freely from the discharge chute. 20. To make finer compost the shredded material can be shredded for a second time. 21. Do not allow the shredded material to build up to a level where it blocks the discharge chute. If the material builds up too far, it could reach the cutting blades and be thrown out of the feeding funnel. 22. Organic material contains a large amount of water and sap that can stick to the product. To avoid this, the material should be left for a few days to dry out. Large branches however are best shredded when they are fresh. 23. If the cutting blades stalls during operation, stop the machine immediately and disconnect the machine from the power supply before investigating the cause. 24. Remove any jammed debris from the cutting blades and examine them for any damage before recommencing shredding. 25. If the blades have stalled for more than 3 seconds, the overload protection will activate. Refer to section “Overload protection”.
Emptying collection box
1. Always operate the machine with the collection box (12) attached. 2. Inspect the collection box (12) each time before use. Do not use it if you detect any damage. 3. Empty frequently during use. Do not wait until the collection box (12) is completely full. We recommend
emptying it when it is half full.
