Product Usage Instructions

Connect the USB to RS485/422 Mini – Premium (Part no. XS885) to your computer’s USB port.
Download the drivers for this product from the following website: www.USconverters.com
Install the downloaded drivers on your computer.
Identify the screw terminal on the USB to RS485/422 Mini – Premium. It is labeled with numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
For RS485 communication, connect the following wires to the screw terminal:
- D+: Connect to Terminal 1
- D-: Connect to Terminal 2
- GND: Connect to Terminal 3
For RS422 communication, connect the following wires to the screw terminal:
- TX+: Connect to Terminal 4
- TXRX+: Connect to Terminal 5
- RXGND: Connect to Terminal 3
Ensure that all connections are secure.
You can now use the USB to RS485/422 Mini – Premium for extending communication distance with RS485 or RS422.

USB to RS485/422 Mini – Premium
Part no. XS885

This surge and static protected USB to RS485/422 converter is a port powered small and convenient converter with no need for external power supply and with operating temperatures from -40 to +85 degree Celsius.
Electrically protected against static electricity, high voltage spikes and other dangerous voltage spikes which can damage your equipment or data signaling. This protection is accomplished by four TVS’s (Transient Voltage Suppressors), one for each data line.
This converter is made with the high performance and very reliable FT232RL chip from FTDI and is suitable for most applications, including industrial, commercial and any general office computer and device.
