Instruction Manual

Read these instructions carefully before assembling and/or operating the appliance. Keep these instructions including warranty, receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
When passing on the appliance to a third party, make sure to include these instructions for use.

Intended Use
This appliance is intended for household use only and not for commercial, industrial or outdoor use. Other use not recommended may cause fire, electric shock or injury.

Important Safety Instructions

Warning! To avoid the possibility of injury/damage to the appliance, electric shock and risk of fire.
Danger of injury and damage to the appliance!

  • Manufacturer takes no responsibility for any damage caused by incorrect use.

  • Incorrect or improper use can damage the appliance and cause injuries to the user.

  • Before connecting this appliance to the mains, make sure your local voltage matches the technical data of the appliance. Otherwise the appliance may overheat and get damaged.

  • Do avoid contact with all moving parts. Always wait until all moving parts have come to stand still before touching them.

  • Do not insert fingers or allow foreign objects to enter the grill.

  • Do not operate without the fan grills properly in place or if the grill becomes damaged or loose.

  • Make sure the fan is not placed near drapes, curtains, or any objects that may be drawn (including hair and clothes) into the fan.

  • Never place or operate the unit where it could be subject to:
    – Heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other products that produce heat.
    – Direct sunlight
    – Excessive dust
    – Mechanical vibration or shock
    – Lack of ventilation

  • Do not operate the appliance in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
    – Uneven surfaces, to avoid the tipping of the fan during use

  • Always turn OFF and unplug the fan when not in use and/or when moving it from one location to another.

Caution! Danger of electric shock!

  • Never put the appliance, cord or plug into water or any other liquid.
  • Do not use the appliance near a sink or wash basin.
  • Do not use the appliance with wet hands.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • Do not place the appliance close to an open window.
    Rain splashing on the fan could cause an electric shock hazard.

An electric appliance is not a toy!

  • Never leave the appliance unattended during use.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • Always unplug your appliance when it is not in use, and before cleaning.
  • Always pull the plug – not the cord.
  • Keep the appliance and the cord well away from any hot surfaces to avoid any damage to the appliance.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Make sure the cord may not inadvertently be pulled or cause anyone to trip when in use.
  • Do not allow the cord to hang over sharp edges.
  • Do not bend the cord or wind it round the appliance.

Do not use the appliance,

  • if the cord is damaged.

  • in case of malfunction.

  • if the appliance was dropped or is damaged otherwise.
    Have it checked and, if necessary, repaired by a qualified person/Customer Service. Never attempt to make any modifications to or repair the appliance yourself.

  • Only use accessories evaluated for use with this appliance.

  • Never attempt to drive any objects into the appliance.

  • Never attempt to open the housing yourself!

  • The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

  • WARNING! Mains adapter/battery charger: Only use the original, dedicated mains adapter/battery charger (output 5V DC, 2.0 A) supplied with this appliance to charge the fan; do not charge the appliance with a different adapter.

It must only be supplied at SELV. Using the wrong adapter can cause fire or explosion of the battery. Do not use the supplied charger for charging a different appliance.

Rechargeable Battery Hazards

****This product contains rechargeable batteries! Do not throw the batteries into a fire and do not subject the appliance to high temperatures. Risk of explosion!

  • The batteries are non replaceable.

  • Do not disassemble or modify the fan’s batteries.

  • Leaks in the battery may occur under extreme conditions.
    In the event that battery fluid comes into contact with skin or eyes, immediately rinse the affected area with clear water and contact your physician.

  • Do not use the adapter for other purposes.

  • After its life cycle, dispose the batteries responsibly and according to your local environmental guidelines.

Before First Use

  • Remove all packaging material and check whether the appliance is complete and that all accessories are included.
  • Fully unwind the power cord.
  • Clean the appliance as described under Cleaning and Care.

If any items are damaged or missing, contact your dealer or customer service.
Warning: Plastic bags are a danger to toddlers and babies, therefore keep them away to avoid suffocation.
Your foldable fan 81010 comes fully assembled and can be used as a stand and table fan/ lamp.
Charging the Battery
Place your fan on an even, dry and stable surface, close to a mains socket and well away from heat sources and excessive moisture.

  1. Make sure that the fan is switched OFF (7).

  2. Connect the USB cable (9) to the AC adapter (10).

  3. Insert the AC Adapter (10)  plug into a properly installed power socket.

  4. Switch on the appliance by switching the main On/Off switch (7) to ON.

Battery Power Status

While charging the battery or operating the fan, the status light blinks every 10 seconds.

0 – 25% power, the indicating light blinks 1 x

26 – 50% power, the indicating light blinks 2 x

51 – 75% power, the indicating light blinks 3 x

76 – 99% power, the indicating light blinks 4 x

100% power, the indicating light stays on.

**A full charge of the battery approximately takes approx. 4.5 hours.
The fan should only be charged indoors.
How to operate the control panel
Switch ON / OFF
Press the (ON / Off) button on the control panel to turn the appliance on or off.
Fan Speed
Press the (ON / Off) button on the control panel repeatedly to adjust the fan speed from
1 = Low
2 = Medium and
3 = High
Natural Wind
In this mode the fan runs according to a pre-determined program which varies according to which speed is selected and will enable you to enjoy a nice, natural breeze.
LED Light
Press the button on the control panel to either switch the LED light on or off.

Note: Once the LED light is switched on while the fan is in operation, the fan speed will automatically switch to “Low” speed.
**By pressing the respective function button, the respective indicator light lights up.
Operation
Easily adjustable from table to stand fan.
**
Once, the fan is fully charged, it can either run cordless on battery power or plugged in, using the power adapter.
The appliance is not supposed to be used outdoor!
If you are using the fan with the mains adapter (battery charger), always connect the charger jack first before inserting the power plug into an appropriate electrical outlet.
Make sure your local voltage matches the technical data of the appliance. Otherwise the appliance may overheat and get damaged.

  1. To unfold the fan, pull it upward.

  2. Extend the fan by following the direction of the arrow.
    Note: When opening the fan, you will see the rear side of the base.

  3. Move the fan head to a vertical position at a 90º degree angle.

  4. Flip the fan base 180° backwards according to the arrow direction and lock the pole into position.

  5. The height can be adjusted up and down as needed.

  6. The fan head tilting angle is 180º.

  7. To return the fan to its original position, fold it in reverse order.

Caution: The fan should always be switched off before connecting it to the mains and before making any adjustments!
Never leave the appliance unattended during use.
Charging your Mobile Phone
You can charge your mobile phone by inserting the adapter cable into the USB port.
Cleaning and Care
Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains. Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock!
– For cleaning purpose, the front grille can be removed. Open the front grille by turning the fan guard into anti-clockwise direction.

  • Clean the appliance using a a soft damp cloth.
  • Never spray the appliance with liquids or submerge it in water or other liquid.

After the cleaning process is finished make sure that all parts are dry and that the front grille is properly reassembled.

**Never use alcohol, gasoline, and/or any other aggressive cleaning agents/hard objects.
CAUTION: The Fan Blade may have sharp edges. Handle with extreme care.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
Stroage**
Keep the appliance away from children and store it in a clean and dry place, best in its original box or cover it to protect it from dust.

Disposal Instructions

Waste electrical devices marked with this sign must not be disposed of with your household waste, but are to be collected separately. Therefore, please return this device at the end of its life cycle to special collection points for disposal or  your local dealer.
Your Foldable Stand Fan with battery and LED light 81010 is packed in a retail box. Such boxes are recyclable waste, i.e. they are reusable or recyclable.
Disposal Instructions For Batteries
Standard and rechargeable batteries should not be thrown into regular household waste. As a consumer, you are legally obliged to return used batteries for proper disposal. You can hand in your used batteries at your local recycling centre in your district or sales outlets where batteries of this type are sold.
Only dispose fully discharged batteries.
****Note: The codes below are printed on batteries containing harmful substances:

Pb = Battery contains lead
Cd = Battery contains cadmium
Hg = Battery contains mercury

  • for damages known by customer at time of purchase
  • for damages caused by owner

This guarantee does not affect your statutory right, nor any legal right you may have as a custumer under applicable national legislation governing the purchase of goods.
In order to assert his/her right in a guarantee case during the guaranteed period, the customer must provide evidence of the date of purchase (receipt).
