The Davis & Waddell Electric Toaster is a 2-slice toaster designed for toasting bread. It features several functions and parts:

Product Usage Instructions
- Unpack the toaster carefully and check for any damaged or missing parts.
- Remove all packing and shipping materials from the slots and under the On/Off handle. Do not remove any warning or model labels on the appliance.
- Ensure there are no foreign objects (such as packing materials) in the slots before operating the appliance.
- Completely unwind the power cord before connecting it to the power supply. Avoid inserting any foreign objects into the slots, as it may cause fire, electric shock, burns, or damage.
- Place the toaster on a level, dry, and heat-resistant surface.
- Insert a slice of bread into each slot of the appliance.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Carefully read all instructions before operating this appliance and save the
instructions for further reference. Do not attempt to use this appliance for
any purpose other than the intended use described in these instructions. Any
other use, especially misuse, can cause severe injuries or damage by electric
shock, heat or fire.
Any operation, repair and technical maintenance of the appliance, or any part
of it other than described in these instructions, may only be performed by an
authorized service provider. Please contact your vendor.
Important Safeguards for Daily Operation
- This appliance is for household use and similar applications such as: Staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, bed and breakfast type environments
- Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use. Do not use outdoors.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.
- Do not attempt to operate the appliance using any parts or accessories not authorized by the manufacturer as they may cause injuries.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.
- Check the entire appliance regularly for proper operation – especially the power cord. The pins of the power cord must be clean, smooth and without discoloration. Do not operate the appliance when it is damaged. This avoids risk of fire, electric shock and any other damage or injuries to persons.
- The appliance is likely to be damaged if it is subject to inadmissible strain, such as overheating, mechanical or electric shock, and moisture, or if there are any cracks, excessively frayed parts, or distortions.
In this case, immediately unplug the appliance and return it (including all parts and accessories) to an authorized service provider for examination and repair.
CAUTION!: Hot surface, the surface of the appliance will get hot during use. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs only.

During operation, keep the appliance in an appropriate distance of at least 20cm on each side to furniture, walls, boards, curtains and other objects. Do not operate the appliance near flammable liquids (i.e., high-proof alcohol) or place beneath any heat-sensitive or moisture-sensitive materials. Do not place beneath boards or drop-lights to avoid damage caused by steam, condensation or fire.

Before operating, always ensure that there are no foreign objects in the slots. Do not insert wrapped foods (i.e., kitchen foil) to avoid risk of fire, electric shock and damage. Immediately unplug the appliance if there is any kind of malfunction or problem (i.e., overheating or smoke coming from the slots).

Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used near young children.
Do not let young children play with any parts of the appliance. -
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction by a person responsible for their safety.

For storage, always keep the appliance dry, clean and where young children cannot reach. Do not place any hard or heavy objects on the appliance.

Operate the appliance on a well accessible, stable, level, dry, and suitable large table or counter. Do not place any cloth or tissue beneath or on the appliance, to avoid any risk of fire, electric shock and overheating. Do not place any objects (i.e., cold toast) on the appliance during operation. Always keep the table or counter clean and dry, and immediately wipe off spilled liquids. Do not place the appliance near the edge of a table or counter. Do not place on an inclined or wet surface where it can fall.

Do not place the appliance, or any part of it, on or near hot surfaces (i.e., heater, gas burner, grill or oven).

During toasting, crumbs can fall and catch fire when overheated. DO NOT LEAVE THE APPLIANCE UNATTENDED WHEN IN USE.

Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply when not in use. Disconnect the appliance before cleaning or moving it. Always allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning. Always grasp the appliance on its side walls for moving or lifting.

Only toast bread slices or simple cakes without any filling or glaze (i.e., jam, mayonnaise, peanut butter, etc.).
The suitable sizes of each slice are 12cm x 12cm, and 0.5cm to 2.4 cm thick. The slices must not protrude the slots. DO NOT use the appliance for toasting or cooking very dry cakes and pastries (i.e., cookies), filled rolls or sandwiches. -
Never use abrasive cleaners, cleaning pads, or any hard and sharp objects (i.e., metal scouring pads) for cleaning. Clean the toaster with a damp sponge or tissue and carefully dry the exterior after cleaning. Handle the appliance with care. NEVER PLACE THE APPLIANCE OR ANY PART OF IT IN AN AUTOMATIC DISHWASHER.

To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the appliance or power cord in water or any other liquid.

DO NOT insert any foreign objects or poke into the slots to avoid risk of electric shock and damage of the heating elements.

If smoke comes out of the appliance or your bread crumbles/bends in the slots, immediately cancel the toasting process by pressing the CANCEL button and unplug the appliance. Wait for the appliance to cool down before carefully removing the jammed bread slices. Do not use a knife or a similar sharp tool as these may damage the heating elements.

Always operate the toaster with the crumb tray in place and clean regularly.

DO NOT let the cord hang over the edge of the table, counter top or touch hot surfaces. Allow the appliance to cool down before storage.

The exterior of the appliance may get hot during operation. Do not touch the exterior while in use. Always keep your hands, face and arms, along with any clothing and other heat-sensitive objects, away from the slots during operation.

IMPORTANT : Ensure the crumb tray is in place before operating the appliance. Otherwise, crumbs may become charred on the bottom of the appliance and stick to the surface.

IMPORTANT : Before each toasting process, ensure the browning control is set to the correct level and not too high.

Important safeguards for electrical appliances

Ensure the voltage rating of your mains power supply corresponds to the voltage requirements of the appliance (220V-240V 50/60Hz AC). Always connect the appliance directly to a separately protected mains power supply wall socket with a protective conductor (earth/ground). Before operation, completely unwind the power cord.

Always switch off (CANCEL button) and unplug the appliance when not in use, before moving or cleaning the appliance.

Do not place the appliance or any part

FIRST USE
Unpack the appliance carefully and check if there are any parts that damaged
or missing.
CAUTION : It is important to carefully remove all packing and shipping materials (in the slots and under the On/Off handle) as well as any price tags, but do not remove any warning or model labels on the appliance. Ensure that there are no foreign objects (i.e., packing materials) in the slots before operating the appliance.
IMPORTANT : The appliance is operating with an electronic control. The
On/Off handle only engages in the toasting position if the appliance is
connected to the power supply and switched on.
When using the appliance for the first time, you may notice a fine smoke
emitting as the components are heating for the first time. There is no need
for concern. To prevent the smell and taste of your food being affected, you
should heat the appliance on browning level 6 before placing any cakes and
pastries into the slots (see: Operating Your Toaster). If the burnt smell
occurs again on a later use, clean the toaster (see: Care and Cleaning). If
the burnt smell persists stubbornly, even after thoroughly cleaning the
appliance, return the appliance to an authorized service center for
examination and repair.
OPERATING YOUR TOASTER
WARNING : Always completely unwind the power cord before connecting the appliance to the power supply. Ensure, there are no foreign objects (i.e., shipping materials) in the slots. Do not insert any foreign objects such as knives, spoons, or other cooking utensils in the slots to avoid risk of fire, electric shock, burns or damage. Always handle with care, especially when removing jammed bread slices.
IMPORTANT : Ensure that the crumb tray is in place before operating the appliance. Otherwise, crumbs may become charred on the bottom of the appliance and stick to the surface.

Prepare the appliance for use: Completely unwind the power cord, place the appliance on an appropriate surface (level, dry and heat- resistant) and connect the power plug into an appropriate power outlet.

Insert a slice of bread in each slot of the appliance.
-
Turn the Browning control to select your desired browning: 1 (light) to 6 (very dark). For the first use, it is recommended to select a medium browning level (example: 3 or 4; see Tips for Best Results).

Carefully push down the On/Off handle until it engages. The CANCEL button illuminates.
Note : The On/Off handle will not engage unless the toaster is connected to the power supply. -
Toasting can be interrupted at any time by pressing the cancel button. NOTE: Never lift the On/Off Handle to stop/cancel toasting.
Tips for Best Results
- You may cancel the toasting process at any time; simply press the CANCEL button.
- The required browning level depends on your special liking, the type of bread, and the freshness of said bread. For example:
- A short toasting time (low browning level) is sufficient for toasting raisin pastry and fine white bread, but for toasting rye bread, you must select a higher browning level to get a similar result.
- Smaller bread slices may be removed easily by lifting the On/Off handle to the HIGH LIFT position (approx. 2cm above the idle position).
CAUTION! : Hot surface, the surface of the appliance will get hot during use/operation, care must be taken while the appliance is being used or shortly after it’s been used due to residual heat.
WARNING : Never insert your fingers in the slots while the appliance is
connected to the power supply. Always switch off and unplug the appliance,
waiting for it to cool down before removing any jammed bread
or crumbs.
- If bread sticks or jams in the slots, switch off (CANCEL button) and unplug the appliance to let it cool down. Remove the bread slices carefully, do use knifes or similar sharp objects to remove jammed bread slices. Ensure not to touch the heating elements on the sides of the slots to avoid damage.
- It is recommended to empty the crumb tray after each use to avoid crumbs becoming charred and sticking to the appliance. (See: Care and Cleaning).
- Do not use the appliance without the crumb tray in place.
- If one of the function buttons (DEFROST, REHEAT) is pressed, the appliance automatically switches back to normal operation after the function has completed.
The DEFROST function
The DEFROST function enhances the toasting time for frozen bread.
- Insert frozen bread slices in the slots and select your desired browning.
- Carefully press down the On/Off handle until it engage in the Browning position.
- Press the DEFROST button. The power indicator will illuminate.
The REHEAT function
The REHEAT function shortens the toasting time for crisping up toast.3
- Insert bread slices in the slots.
- Carefully press down the On/Off handle until it engages in the Browning position.
- Press the REHEAT button. The power indicator will illuminate.
CARE AND CLEANING
WARNING : Always switch off the appliance (using the CANCEL button),
unplug the power cord and allow it to cool down before removing the crumb
tray, moving the appliance, or cleaning it. Do not immerse or place the
appliance or power cord in any liquids. Do not drip any liquids onto the
appliance to avoid risk of electric shock and damage.
Do not place the appliance or any part of it in an automatic dishwasher.

- Switch off the appliance pressing the CANCEL button, unplug the power connector and allow it to cool down.
- Pull out the crumb tray and empty it. You may clean the crumb tray in warm soapy water then rinse with clean water. Thoroughly dry the tray after cleaning and leave it to dry naturally for some minutes.
- Grasp the appliance on both sides and hold it over the sink or large bowl, then turn upside down. Carefully shake the crumbs out of the appliance while turning it in all directions.
- Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a soft damp cloth. Take care not to spill or drip water, or any other liquids, in the appliance. If necessary, clean the power cord in the same way. Then thoroughly dry the appliance and power cord with a dry soft cloth.
- Insert the crumb tray into the bottom of the appliance.
CAUTION!: Do not insert the crumb tray when it is still wet or damp.
STORAGE
Store the entire appliance on a clean and dry surface, where it may not tilt
or fall, and no other objects can fall on it. It must be safe from frost and
inadmissible strain (mechanical or electric shock, heat, moisture, direct
sunlight) and where it is out of reach of young children. Do not place any
hard or heavy objects on the appliance or any parts of it.
Always switch off the appliance by pressing the CANCEL button and unplug the
power connector.
If the appliance is not in use for a long period of time, clean it before
storage (see: Care and Cleaning). If required, wind the power cord around the
cord storage in the bottom of the appliance.
NOTES FOR DISPOSAL
Disposal of the appliance and packaging must be in accordance with the corresponding local regulations and requirements for electrical appliances and packaging. Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste – use separate collection facilities. Contact your local government for information regarding the collection systems.
Our 12-Month Guarantee
In Australia, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the
Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a
major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable losses or
damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired if the goods fail to

heating element. The benefits of this guarantee
are in addition to any rights and remedies imposed by the Australian Consumer
Law. Our guarantee excludes normal wear and tear, and instances where care and
use instructions have not been followed.

defective product. If identical product is not available for replacement, a
similar product may be offered. IsAlbi asks you to cover the cost
of postage/transit if the product needs to be sent back to us for inspection.

postage/transit expenses. IsAlbi will be responsible for the postage/transit
of the repaired/replacement product back to you.
What To Do:
If a fault/defect is identified, cease using the product immediately. To make
a claim on this guarantee, take the product, proof of purchase, and full
