msi 02110 NVIDIA Graphics Driver

[How To] NVIDIA Graphics Driver Clean Install & Update
Affected Model: MSI notebook with NVIDIA GPU This guide shows how to completely uninstall the NVIDIA graphics driver from the system without leaving old files and settings, and install the latest version via GeForce Experience or the MSI website.

Before starting

  • Download and save the DDU file and the corresponding NVIDIA graphics driver. (The DDU download link may change without notice, visit Guru3d.com and look for Display Driver Uninstaller)
  • Disconnect to the network by removing the LAN cable, or disabling the wireless connection.
  • Multiple system reboots might be required, please keep the power plugged during the whole update process.

Uninstall Current Driver
Remove the driver by using “DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)”

  1. Perform DDU in “Safe Mode”.
  2. The DDU control panel will shows up automatically after the system boot into Safe mode.
  3. Select “Remove PhysX” under Options
  4. Make sure to select the NVIDIA GPU, and click “Clean and restart” to uninstall the driver. (System will reboot automatically after the DDU is finished.)msi-02110-NVIDIA-Graphics-Driver-FIG1
  5. The NVIDIA display adapter should be “Microsoft Basic Display Adapter” in Device Manager since the driver has been removed.

Remove the driver from “Programs & Features”

  1. Click search on the task bar and type “Control Panel”
  2. Select “Programs” then click “Programs and Features”
  3. Double click on the NVIDIA drivers to manually uninstall each driver one by one.msi-02110-NVIDIA-Graphics-Driver-FIG2

Remove the driver from “Device Manager”

  1. Right click on the Windows icon and select “device manager”.
  2. Double click on the “Display Adapter”
  3. Double click again on the “NVIDIA graphics”
  4. Select the “Driver” tab and click “Unisntall the device”.
  5. Check “Delete the driver software for this device”
  6. Click Uninstall button to start the uninstallation.

Install & Update NVIDIA Driver

Get the driver update from GeForce Experience

  1. Download/Update the GeForce Experience Make sure to have the GeForce Experience version 3.15.0.164 or newer version installed. (Download from NVIDIA website.msi-02110-NVIDIA-Graphics-Driver-FIG3
  2. Download the NVIDIA graphics driver through the GeForce Experience After installing the new version of the Geforce Experience, launch the GeForceExperience -> Click the “DRIVERS” tab -> Click “DOWNLOAD” to download the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver again.msi-02110-NVIDIA-Graphics-Driver-FIG4
  3. Install/Update the graphics driver After the driver is downloaded, click “CUSTOM INSTALLATION” and make sure to select the “Perform a clean installation” check box to update the graphics driver.msi-02110-NVIDIA-Graphics-Driver-FIG5

Get the driver update manually from the MSI website

  1. Download the NVIDIA graphics driver package from the MSI Driver download page.msi-02110-NVIDIA-Graphics-Driver-FIG7
  2. Download the NVIDIA graphics application package from the MSI Utility download page.msi-02110-NVIDIA-Graphics-Driver-FIG8
  3. Extract the file and double-click on Setup.exe to start the installer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver install process.
  5. After installing the Driver Package, continue to install the Application Package by extracting the application installer package and double click on the Setup.exe.
  6. Select the “NVIDIA Graphics Driver and GeForce Experience” option and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
