Advantages of the RED-OBD Adapter

1. Faster connection with BLE

The RED-OBD adapter uses BLE = Bluetooth Low-Energy technology to connect to the mobile phone. Not only is BLE significantly faster than regular Bluetooth, but it also allows you to connect to the internet while running iOS.

2. More detected systems with multi-CAN
   While normal OBD adapters only connect with just one OBD line with the vehicle, RED-OBD supports six different connections with the vehicle Depending on the car manufacturer and the app used, you have access to considerably more systems than with other OBD adapters.

3. Less power consumption – longer operating
   time
   RED-OBD looks after your car battery. When required, the adapter automatically switches to a low-power standby mode and consumes up to 60% less energy

4. Faster reading of live parameters
   Together with the OBD ULTRA app, live or real-time parameters are displayed up to 360% as fast as with other adapters and apps when showing 6 Parameters simultaneously. This makes the graphic representation of the values much smoother and more pleasant.

Usage

Install a recommended OBD-App
The RED-OBD adapter is compatible with various OBD apps. You can find the apps for Android in GooglePlay and for iOS in the Apple App Store.

We recommend the OBD ULTRA app. In conjunction with the RED-OBD adapter, this can not only read the engine, but many other systems. Other apps can usually only read the engine. The combination of the RED-OBD adapter with the OBD ULTRA app has a speed improvement factor up to 360%.

Not all OBD apps support the modern BLE connection or do not yet recognize all new OBDBLE adapters. Such apps can therefore not work with the RED-OBD adapter!

1. Plug the adapter into the vehicle’s
   OBD2 port. The red light will illuminate, indicating ready to start Make sure the adapter is plugged in securely.

2. Switch on ignition or start vehicle
   Just turn on the ignition or start the vehicle. This  activates the systems in your vehicle and allows communication with the adapter. Without at least the ignition on, a stable connection with the systems in the vehicle cannot be established.

3. Start the OBD-App
   Go to the settings within the OBD app and select Bluetooth LE (=BLE) as the connection type. In the list of available BLE devices you will now find RED- OBD adapters under “RED—….”. Select this one.
   Set communication to Bluetooth LE(4.0).

Android :
OBD ULTRA APP: Settings-> OBD Adapter -> Bluetooth LE(4.0). Now select OBD Adapter and “RED–…” from the list. Car Scanner App OBD2 : Settings-> Connection Type-> Bluetooth LE(4.0). Now select the device name and “RED–…” from the list. OBD Fusion: Settings->Set New Adapter -> Communication Type -> Bluetooth LE). Now select “RED–…” from the list. InfoCar OBD2: Menu -> Connection -> Bluetooth LE 4.0). Now select “RED–…” from the list.

iPhone:
OBD ULTRA APP: Settings-> OBD Adapter -> Bluetooth LE (4.0). Now select OBD Adapter and “RED–…” from the list.

Car Scanner App OBD2: Settings-> Adapter OBDII ELM327-> Connection type -> Bluetooth LE (4.0). Now select the device name and “RED– …” from the list. OBD Fusion: Settings->Set New Adapter -> Communication Type -> Bluetooth LE). Now select “RED–…” from the list. InfoCar OBD2: Menu -> Connection-> Connection type -> Bluetooth LE 4.0. Now in the “Bluetooth list” the “RED–….” Select adapter. Important:

• RED-OBD is a Bluetooth LE (4.0) adapter.

• It is not BLUETOOTH nor WIFI.

• Only use the settings within the OBD app
  to connect to the adapter. Do not use Bluetooth. Do not attempt to connect to the adapter via Bluetooth.

• It is recommended to unplug the adapter when not in use.

• Always focus on driving in accordance with local laws and regulations.

• RED-OBD in conjunction with the OBDULTRA app can read more systems from many car manufacturers than other adapters and apps can.

Cars and light trucks in the European Union with petrol from 2001, with diesel from 2004. USA: – 1996, Canada – 1998,  Australia gas – 2006, diesel – 2007, Mexico -2006.
