INPUT ACCESSORY GUIDE
OPTIONAL ACCESSORY INPUTS
Map| (Input 1 or 2) The PC6 has the ability to hold 2 different base maps. You
can switch on the fl y between these two base maps when you hook up a switch to
the MAP inputs. You can use any open/close type switch. The polarity of the
wires is not important.
---|---
Shifter| (Input 1 or 2) Used for clutch-less full throttle upshifts. Insert
the wires from the Dynojet quick shifter into either Input 1 or Input 2. The
polarity of the wires is not important. Set to Input 2 by default.
Speed| If your application has a speed sensor then you can tap into the signal
side of the sensor and run a wire into this input. This will allow you to
calculate gear position in the Control Center Software. Once gear position is
setup you can alter your map based on gear position and setup gear dependent
kill times when using a quick shifter. .
Analog| This input is for a 0-5v signal such as engine temp, boost, etc. Once
this input is established you can alter your fuel curve based on this input in
the Power Core software.
Launch| You can connect a wire to either Input 1 or Input 2 and then the other
end to a switch. This switch when engaged (continuity) will only allow the RPM
to be raised to a certain limit (set in the software). When released, you will
have full RPM.
WIRE CONNECTIONS
To input wires into the PC6 fi rest remove the rubber plug on the backside of
the unit and loosen the screw for the corresponding input. Using a 22-24 gauge
wire, strip about 10mm from its end. Push the wire into the hole of the PC6
until it stops and then tighten the screw. Make sure to reinstall the rubber
plug.
NOTE: If you tin the wires with solder it will make inserting them
easier.
INSTALLING THE POWER COMMANDER 6
-
Remove the seat.
-
Remove the left and right side radiator shrouds.
-
Remove the fuel tank.
-
Remove the rear fender and both side rear number plates.
-
In the bottom of the airbox on the left side below the lower subframe spar, is a square recess. Using diagonal cutters or a utility knife, trim one side of the tabs facing the battery to allow the PC6 module to sit inside the recess with the cable facing the battery
and the USB port facing the air fi lter. -
Secure the PC6 module by stacking two dual lock Velcro strips together and placing them in the recess.
Clean both surfaces with the supplied alcohol swab prior to applying the Velcro. -
On the right hand side of the bike, slide the large capacitor outboard and out of the way.
-
Route the cables through the hole and along the subframe towards the rear shock mount.
-
Secure the harness with two zip ties.
-
Reinstall the capacitor.
-
Secure the PC6 ground wire to the negative (-) battery terminal. Secure this wire with a zip tie.
-
Unplug the stock wiring harness from the Crank Position Sensor. This is a blue connector located along the frame above the throttle body.
-
Attach the PC6 wiring harness to the Crank Position Sensor and the stock wiring harness.
-
Secure the harness and connectors along with the factory harness out of the way using two zip ties.
-
Unplug the stock wiring harness from the ignition coil.
This connection is located in the frame above the spark plug. -
Route the PC6 harness along the frame rail and attach the PC6 connectors to the ignition coil and stock wiring harness.
-
Secure the hanress to the factory harness with two zip ties.
-
Locate the Throttle Position Sensor (TSP) on the left-hand side of the throttle body.
-
Remove the two Allen screws securing the plastic cover and remove the cover.
-
Unplug the 3-pin connector.
-
Route the 3-pin PC6 harness branch along the inside of the frame down to the TPS.
-
Attach the PC6 connectors to the TPS and stock harness.
Dynojet recommends a TPS/Injector guard to protect the injectors and harness. Install this guard or plastic cover at this time. -
Locate the two injectors in the bottom of the throttle body on the left side.
-
Slide the factory rubber cover out of the way and note which connector is the forward and rear injector.
-
Route the PC6 harness with the two gray connectors along the frame.
-
Attach the PC6 connector with the white/orange wires to the front injector.
-
Attach the PC6 connector with the white/yellow wires to the rear injector.
-
Route the factory injector harness above the throttle body and note that the front injector connector plugs into the PC6 connector with the orange wire and the rear injector connector plugs into the connector with the yellow wire.
-
Secure the injector and TPS harnesses using four zip ties along the frame. Also secure the injector connectors out the way above the throttle body protected behind the frame with two zip ties.
-
Double check the harness and all connectors are secure and out of the way.
-
Reinstall the side number plates, rear fender, tank, shrouds, and seat.
-
