Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

Power Sources – This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local power company. For product intended to operate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions.

Overloading – Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.

Object and Liquid Entry – Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock.
To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this appliance to dripping or splashing. No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus. -
Damage Requiring Service – Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
a. When the AC cord or plug is damaged,
b. If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the product,
c. If the product has been exposed to rain or water,
d. If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to its normal operation, e. If the product has been dropped or damaged in any way, and f. When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance – this indicates a need for service. -
Replacement Parts – When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.

Safety Check – Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition.

Wall or ceiling mounting – When mounting the product on a wall or ceiling, be sure to install the product according to the method recommended by the manufacturer.

Power Lines – An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.

Protective Attachment Plug – The product is equipped with an attachment plug having overload protection. This is a safety feature. See Instruction Manual for replacement or resetting of protective device. If replacement of the plug is required, be sure the service technician has used a replacement plug specified by the manufacturer that has the same overload protection as the original plug.

Stand – Do not place the product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod or table. Placing the product on an unstable base can cause the product to fall, resulting in serious personal injuries as well as damage to the product. Use only a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. When mounting the product on a wall, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Use only the mounting hardware recommended by the manufacturer.
Precautions
■ General
- Keep your equipment at least 4” (10 cm) of free space along the sides, top and back for proper ventilation.
- Use the unit on a firm, level surface free from vibration.
- Place the unit at least 12” (30 cm) away from any CRT TV to avoid color variations across the TV screen. If the variations persist, move the unit further away from the TV. LCD TV is not prone to such variation.
- Keep the unit away from direct sunlight, strong magnetic fields, excessive dust, humidity and electronic/electrical equipment (home computers, facsimiles, etc.) which generate electrical noise.
- Do not expose the unit to moisture, to temperatures higher than 113˚F (45˚C) or to extremely low temperatures.
- If the unit does not work properly, unplug and plug it in again. Then turn on the unit.
- In case of an electrical storm, unplug the unit for safety.
- Hold the AC power plug by the head when removing it from the AC outlet, as pulling the cord can damage internal wires.
- Do not place anything on top of the unit.
- The AC power plug is used as a disconnect device and shall always remain readily operable.
- Do not remove the outer cover, as this may result in electric shock. Refer internal service to your local SHARP service facility.
- This unit should only be used within the range of 32˚F – 113˚F (0˚C – 45˚C).
- **** This equipment is a Class II or double insulated electrical appliance. It has been designed in such a way that it does not require a safety connection to electrical earth.
Warning: The voltage used must be the same as that specified on this
unit. Using this product with a higher voltage other than that which is
specified is dangerous and may result in a fire or other type of accident
causing damage. SHARP will not be held responsible for any damage resulting
from use of this unit with a voltage other than that which is specified.
■ Volume Control
The sound level at a given volume setting depends on speaker efficiency,
location and various other factors. It is advisable to avoid exposure to high
volume levels, which occurs while turning the unit on with the volume control
setting up high, or while continually listening at high volumes.
■ Before use
- Choose unit installation location carefully. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or close to a source of heat. Also avoid locations subject to vibrations and excessive dust, cold or moisture. Keep away from sources that hum, such as transformers or motors.
- Do not open the cabinet as this might result in damage to the circuitry or electrical shock, if a foreign object should get into the set, contact your dealer.
- When removing the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull directly on the plug, never pull the cord.
- Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents as this might damage the unit. Use a clean, dry cloth.
- In order to shut off the power to this product completely, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Be sure to unplug the unit if you do not intend to use it for an extended period of time, such as a vacation.
- Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
Warranty (USA)
CONSUMER LIMITED WARRANTY (Valid in the U.S. Only)
MIZARI ENTERPRISES, INC. warrants to the first consumer purchaser that this
Sharp brand product (the “Product”), when shipped in its original container,
will be free from defective workmanship and materials, and agrees that it
will, at its option, either repair the defect or replace the defective
Product or part thereof with a new or remanufactured equivalent at no charge
to the purchaser for parts or labor for the period(s) set forth below.
This warranty does not apply to any appearance items of the Product nor to the
additional excluded item(s) set forth below nor to any Product the exterior of
which has been damaged or defaced, which has been subjected to improper
voltage or other misuse, abnormal service or handling, or which has been
altered or modified in design or construction. In order to enforce the rights
under this limited warranty, the purchaser should follow the steps set forth
below and
provide proof of purchase to the servicer.
The limited warranty described herein is in addition to whatever implied
warranties may be granted to purchasers by law.
ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS
FOR USE ARE LIMITED TO THE PERIOD(S) FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE SET FORTH
BELOW. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty
lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
Neither the sales personnel of the seller nor any other person is authorized
to make any warranties other than those described herein, or to extend the
duration of any warranties beyond the time period described herein on behalf
of MIZARI.
The warranties described herein shall be the sole and exclusive warranties
granted by MIZARI and shall be the sole and exclusive remedy available to the
purchaser. Correction of defects, in the manner and for the period of time
described herein, shall constitute complete fulfillment of all liabilities and
responsibilities of MIZARI to the purchaser with respect to the Product, and
shall constitute full satisfaction of all claims, whether based on contract,
negligence, strict liability or otherwise.
In no event shall MIZARI be liable, or in any way responsible, for any damages
or defects in the Product which were caused by repairs or attempted repairs
performed by anyone other than an authorized servicer. Nor shall MIZARI be
liable or in any way responsible for any incidental or consequential economic
or property damage. Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above exclusion may not apply to you.

CONSUMER LIMITED WARRANTY (Valid in Canada Only)
MIZARI ENTERPRISES, INC. warrants to the first purchaser for this Sharp brand
product (“Product”), when shipped in its original container and sold or
distributed in Canada by MIZARI or by an authorized MIZARI dealer, and Product
was not sold “as is” or “sales final” that the Product will during the
applicable warranty period, be free from defects in material and workmanship,
and will within the applicable warranty period, either repair the defective
Product or provide the first purchaser a replacement of the defective Product.
Conditions: This limited warranty shall not apply to:
(a) Any cosmetic damage to the Product surface or exterior that has been
defaced or caused by normal wear and tear.
(b) Any defects caused or repairs required as a result of damage caused by any
external or environmental conditions, including but not limited to,
transmission line/power line voltage or liquid spillage or acts of God.
(c) Warranty claims for Products returned with illegible or without
appropriate model, serial number and CSA/cUL markings.
(d) Any Products used for rental or commercial purposes.
(e) Any installation, delivery, setup and/or programming charges.
(f) Any defects caused or repairs required as a result of abusive operation,
negligence, accident, improper installation or inappropriate use as outlined
in the owner’s manual or other applicable Product documentation.
(g) Any defects caused or repairs required as a result of any Product that has
been tampered with, modified, adjusted or repaired by any person other than
MIZARI, a Sharp authorized service center or a MIZARI authorized servicing
dealer.
(h) Any defects caused or repairs required as a result of the use of the
Product with items not specified or approved by MIZARI, including but not
limited to, head cleaning tapes and chemical cleaning agents.
(i) Any replacement of accessories, glassware, consumable or peripheral items
required through normal use of the Product, including but not limited to,
earphones, remote controls, AC adapters, batteries, temperature probe, trays,
filters, belts, ribbons, cables and paper.
How to get service: Warranty service information may be obtained calling
905-568-7140. No other person
(including any MIZARI dealer or service center) is authorized to extend,
enlarge or transfer this warranty on behalf of MIZARI. The purchaser will be
responsible for any and all removal, reinstallation, transportation and
insurance costs incurred.
The express warranties in this limited warranty are, except for consumer
purchasers domiciled in Quebec, in lieu of and, except to the extent
prohibited by applicable law, MIZARI disclaims all other warranties and
conditions, express or implied, whether arising by law, statute, by course of
dealing or usage of non-infringement.
Limitations: (not applicable to consumer purchasers domiciled in Quebec
to the extent prohibited under Quebec law): (a) MIZARI shall not be liable for
any incidental, special, consequential, economic, exemplary or indirect
damages of any kind or nature (including lost profits or damages for loss of
time or loss of use or loss of data) arising from or in any connection with
the use or performance of a Product or a failure of a Product, even if MIZARI
is aware of or has been advised of the possibility of such damages; (b) the
remedies described in this limited warranty constitute complete fulfillment of
all obligations and responsibilities of MIZARI to the purchaser with respect
to the Product and shall constitute full satisfaction of all claims, whether
based on contract, negligence, strict liability or otherwise. Some provinces

Thank you for purchasing this SHARP product. To obtain the best performance
from this product, please read this manual carefully. It will guide you in
operating your SHARP product.

Controls and indicators

STANDBY button: Press to turn on or enter standby.

AC IN Socket: Used to connect an AC cord.

HDMI(ARC IN) port: Used to connect a HDMI cord.

STANDBY: Press this to switch on the unit. Press it again to put the unit in standby mode.

VOLUME +: Press this to increase volume.

PREVIOUS: Press this to skip to the previous track.

PLAY/PAUSE : Press this to temporarily pause a playback. Press it again to resume the playback.
Press and hold this button for 3 seconds to disconnect Bluetooth connection. -
VOLUME -: Press this to decrease volume.

BLUETOOTH: Press this to enter Bluetooth mode.

MOVIE: Press to enter the Eq2 equalizer mode MOVIE (recommended for viewing movies).

MUSIC: Press to enter the Eq1 equalizer mode MUSIC (recommended for listening to music).

MUTE: Press this to mute the sound. Press it again to unmute.

NEXT: Press this to skip to the next track.

INPUT: Press repeatedly to switch among BLUETOOTH, LINE IN, OPTICAL, ARC or USB mode.

NEWS: Press to enter the Eq3 equalizer mode that is preset equalizers NEWS (recommended for viewing news).
■ Battery installation
Fitting or replacing the remote control battery
Use 2 “AAA” size batteries (UM/SUM-4, R3, HP-16 or similar).
- Remove the batteries compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Load two AAA/1.5V batteries into the battery compartment making sure that the battery have been inserted with the correct polarities matching the symbols +, – as indicated inside the battery compartment.
- Replace the battery cover and clip it in place.
Caution:
- Replace all old batteries with new ones at the same time.
- Remove the batteries if the unit will not be used for a long period of time. This will prevent potential damage due to battery leakage.
- Do not use rechargeable batteries (nickel-cadmium battery, etc.).
- Batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
- Risk of fire explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
Notes concerning use:
- Exposing the sensor on the unit and remote control to strong light may interfere with operation. Change the lighting or the direction of the unit if this occurs.
- Keep the remote control away from moisture, heat shock, and vibrations.
■ Remote control operation
- Point the remote control at the remote sensor on the front panel.
- The remote control works within a distance of about 26ft. (8 m) from the sensor and within an angle of about 30 degrees from the left and right side.
Placement and Mounting
■ Placement
A: Standard Placement (Place Sound bar on the leveled surface in front of TV)
B: Wall Mounting
■ Wall Mounting
In order to prevent injuries, the sound bar device must be securely fastened
to the wall in accordance with the below installation instructions.
- Drill the two holes (about 1/4” diameter) in the wall and keep the distance between the drill holes of the sound bar is 28-3/4”. Insert the two plugs supplied into two drilled holes and then insert two screws supplied into two holes and tighten. (As shown in the picture on the right).
- Take care to leave 5/32” between the screw heads and wall. (As shown in the picture on the right).
- Use the assembled sound bar to hang on the set screws on the wall. (As shown in the picture on the right).
Notes:
- Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel only.
- Incorrect assembly can result in severe personal injury and property damage (if you intend to install this product yourself, you must check for installations such as electrical wiring and plumbing that may be buried inside the wall).
- The installer’s responsible for verifying that the wall will safely support the total load of the unit and wall brackets.
- Additional tools (not included) are required for the installation. Do not overtighten screws.
- Keep this instruction manual for future reference. Use an electronic stud finder to check the wall type before drilling and mounting.
System connection
■ Preparation for use
CAUTION: TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK, MATCH THE WIDE BLADE OF THE PLUG TO
THE WIDE SLOT, FULLY INSERT.
■ HDMI ARC input (1)
- The ARC (Audio Return Channel) function allows you to send audio from your ARC-compliant TV to your sound bar through a single HDMI connection. To enjoy the ARC function, please ensure your TV is both HDMI-CEC and ARC compliant and set up accordingly. When correctly set up, you can use your TV remote control to adjust the sound bar’s volume output (VOL +/- and MUTE).
- Connect the HDMI cable (not included) from the unit’s HDMI (ARC) socket to the HDMI (ARC) socket on your ARC-compliant TV. Then press the button remote control to select HDMI ARC.
Note:
Your TV must support the HDMI-CEC and ARC function.
HDMI-CEC and ARC must be set to On.
■ OPTICAL input (2)
- Connect an OPTICAL cable (not included) to the TV’s OPTICAL OUT socket and the OPTICAL socket on the unit.
- Press the button on the remote control to switch to the OPTICAL input mode, the word “OPt” will be shown on the display screen means to select the Optical mode.
Note:
The external device audio output must be set to PCM.
■ LINE IN input (3)
A. Use a RCA to 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to connect the TV’s audio
output sockets to the LINE IN socket on the unit.
B. Use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to connect the TV’s or
external audio device headphone socket to the LINE IN socket on the unit.
- Press the button remote control to select LINE IN, The word “LINE” will be shown on the display screen.

Please ensure that the voltage marked on the rating label, located on the rear
panel, is the same as the voltage in your area.
- Insert the end of the power lead into the AC IN socket on the back of the unit.
- Plug the other end of the cable in to the wall socket.
Operations
■ Basic operations
Standby mode
Press the STANDBY button on the unit or the remote to put the system into
standby mode. To resume normal operation, press this button again.
Note:
This unit is designed to enter STANDBY mode automatically, after about 15
minutes (approximately) of inactivity. Press STANDBY button to wake the unit.
Note:
When you power on the unit from standby, it will resume in the mode that was
last used.
Switching modes
To switch between the modes: Press the button on the unit or on the remote
control to select LINE IN, OPTICAL, HDMI ARC, USB mode, or BT (Bluetooth).
Adjust the Volume
Press the + / – buttons on the unit or press the VOL+ / VOL- buttons on the
remote control to adjust the volume. If you wish to turn the sound off, press
the MUTE button on the remote control. Press the MUTE button again or press
the VOL+ / VOL- buttons on the unit or on the remote control to resume normal
listening.
Select Equalizer (EQ) Effect
While playing, press the MOVIE, MUSIC, or NEWS button on the remote control to
select the preset equalizers: Movie (recommended for viewing movies), Music
(recommended for listening to music), NEWS (recommended for listening to
NEWS).
■ Bluetooth operation (5)
The Sound Bar Home Theater System has Bluetooth capability and is able to receive a signal within a range of 32 feet. To pair the Sound Bar Home Theater System with a Bluetooth device:
- Press the source button on the unit, or button on the remote control button repeatedly to enter the Bluetooth mode, then bt“ message appears on the display.
- Activate your Bluetooth device and select the search mode.
- Select “HT-SB117 SHARP” from the search list and connect.
- Enter “0000“ for a password if prompted.
- When the devices are connected to each other, a confirmation sound will be made. “bt” will show on the display.
- You can now playback music from your device. Please note that the volume on the Bluetooth source device operates independently of the volume of the unit.
- To turn off the Bluetooth function: disable the function on your Bluetooth source device.

Insert the USB storage drive into the USB slot on the rear panel.

Press the button repeatedly on the remote control to select USB mode.

The sound bar will automatically start playing the MP3 tracks from the connected USB drive.
If playback does not start automatically, press the button. -
To skip to the previous/next track, press the / buttons on the remote control.
Notes:
- MP3 format is supported.
- Unsupported file formats are skipped. For example, Word documents (.doc) or MP3 files with extension .dlf are ignored and not played
- Even when the files are in a supported format (MP3), some may not play or display depending on the compatibility.
- In some case, reading may be as long as 60 seconds, this is not a malfunction.
- Depending on the amount of data and media speed, it may take longer for the unit to read the USB device.
- The maximum USB memory size is 32GB.
- USB memory device must be formatted in FAT, FAT16 or FAT32
Troubleshooting
Many potential problems can be resolved by the owner without calling a service
technician.
If something is wrong with this product, check the following before calling
your authorized dealer or service center.
