WHAT TO DO

  • Read the instructions in this leaflet carefully and keep them to hand. They apply to every version depending on the accessories that come with your appliance.
  • If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary.
  • Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals that have a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
  • Only use the stone or plate (depending on model) that comes with the appliance or purchased at an approved service center, and only on the support for which it is designed.
  • Place the appliance in the middle of the table, out of the reach of the children.
  • Take care with the location of the power cord, with or without an extension lead, so as not to disturb the movement of others around the table, and so that no one trips over it.
  • To protect the coating on the cooking plate (depending on the model), always use a plastic or wooden spatula.
  • Always use on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.

  • Preheat the appliance for 15 min for the raclette or 20 min for the piperade (remove the raclette trays during preheating, depending on the model), the appliance is then ready for use.
  • Any small cracks or fissures are due to the stone expansion and are natural and will not affect the function of the appliance. They are therefore not a reason for replacement.
  • After a few uses, the stone will permanently turn a darker, deeper color.

ENVIRONMENT

Environment protection first!

  • Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled.
  • Leave it at a local civic waste collection point.
  • Use about 200 g of food per person: use fresh products only (not frozen unless completely thawed first).
  • Remove gristle and fat from meat. Debone fish. Cut thick shellfish in half.
  • Cut meat, fish, vegetables, or fruits into slices of about 1/2 cm thick and 5 – 6 cm long. Cooking irregular-sized pieces will not give the best results with this appliance.
  • The Pierrade is not suitable for cooking large pieces of food such as steaks, chicken pieces, etc, or fatty foods such as bacon, sausages, or burgers.
  • If preparing a large or complete meal (firm textured fish, shellfish (shelled), lean meat, and boneless poultry and fruits), it is recommended you clean the stone between different kinds of food (e.g. meat and fruits) in order to fully appreciate the taste and flavor. To clean, use the scraper supplied with the appliance (depending on the model) or a spatula. Then wipe the stone to remove any remaining food particles using kitchen paper.
  • Do not clean the stone with water, as this may cause thermal shock which will break it.
  • Set the thermostat (depending on the model) to the position of your choice. Due to the denseness of the stone, it will take 5 to 10 minutes to respond to a change in temperature setting when the appliance is in use.
  • Turn off the appliance before the end of the meal: the stone will remain hot for at least ten minutes, and the last pieces of food will continue to cook.
