Product Usage Instructions

  1. Fix battens and underlay in accordance with BS 5534. Insert the Verge Units before fully fixing the battens into place. Ensure the underlay extends 10mm beyond the outer face of the gable structure. Cut battens inboard of the outer face of the gable structure by no more than 15mm.
  2. Take the eaves unit and fix it onto the first tiling batten, ensuring that the drainage hole at the bottom discharges into the gutter. Use 2 x 20mm nails to fix it to the tiling batten. Fix the tab on the underside of the unit to the gable structure using an appropriate mechanical fixing method.
  3. Fix a continuation unit to the second tiling batten and locate the clip over the top edge of the previously fixed unit. Nail it to the tiling batten using 2 x 20mm nails. Repeat this step for each course as necessary.
  4. For stone verge pack only – apply a verge foam to the inside edge of each unit to close off the gap between the verge unit and the uneven wall surface.
  5. At the apex, the verge units may require mitre cutting to fit. Bond the top foam filler into the verge units either side of the ridge using adhesive strips.
  6. All perimeter tiles must be twice mechanically fixed when tiling. Install perimeter clips on each verge tile by nailing the clip through the tile nail hole when fixing the tile below.
  7. At the top of the verge, install a Forticrete nailhole block end ridge tile to cover the apex detail. Secure it in place using drive screws, washers, and grommets.

Note: This product is not suitable for use with uneven wall surfaces or raked cut verges.
