Safety instructions

  • Never cover the device.
  • Never allow the device to operate unattended.
  • The device is only fully disconnected from the power supply when the power adaptor has been removed from the power socket.
  • Always remove the power adaptor when you are no longer using the device. This is particularly important even when just taking a break.
  • Before connecting the device to your power supply, make sure that the supply voltage specified on the data plate is compatible with your mains supply.
  • Only use the unit in enclosed spaces!
  • Use the device only for its intended purpose and as directed within this instruction manual.
  • The device is not intended for commercial use.
  • Do not use any auxiliary parts that have not been recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Avoid contact with pointed or sharp objects. The warranty shall be rendered null and void if the device is not used for its intended purpose.
  • This device may be used by children over 8 years of age as well as persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or lack of experience and knowledge, providing theyare supervised or have been instructed regarding the safe use of this device and understand potential hazards involved with said use.
  • Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the device.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are supervised.
  • Do not attempt to repair the device yourself in the event of any defects. This will not only void any warranty claim, but may also create a serious hazard (fire, electric shock, injury). Only have repairs carried out at authorised service points.
  • Only plug in the power adaptor when the device is switched off.
  • Do not reach for the device if it has fallen into water. Remove the power adaptor from the socket immediately.
  • Keep the power supply cable away from hot surfaces and open flames.
  • Do not use the device in rooms in which aerosols (sprays) are being used or where pure oxygen is being administered.
  • Make sure to arrange the mains cable in a way that does not pose a trip or asphyxiation hazard.
  • Never use any electrical device while bathing or showering. Do not store or keep any electrical devices in places where they might fall into a bath or a sink.
  • Do not use the device if the power cable has been damaged, the power adaptor is defective, the device doesnot work perfectly or if it has fallen into water or been damaged.
  • Never carry, pull on or rotate the device by the mains cable and ensure the cable is not subject to entrapment.
  • Avoid overheating due to excessive use.
  • Uninterrupted treatment should not take any longer than 15 minutes. If thistime is exceeded, switch the device off for at least half an hour and allow it to cool down.
  • Only pull the power adaptor out of the socket using dry hands, when the device is switched off and no longer in use as well as when you need to replace or clean the attachments. Important recommendations for your health
  • If diagnosed with diabetes or other illnesses, contact your family doctor before attempting to use this device.
  • Pregnant women should follow necessary precautionary measures and consider their own physical state. Consult a doctor, if necessary, before use.
  • Do not use the device on any part of the body exhibiting swelling, burns, inflammations, skin rashes, wounds or other sensitive areas.
  • The treatment should feel pleasant. Discontinue the treatment and consult your doctor if you feel any pain or find the treatment unpleasant.
  • Do not soak the skin of your hands and feet before use.

How to use

WARNING
Risk of injury! The excessively long or intensive application can damage deeper skin tissue.

Rotary switch 1
The silver-colored ring 1 close to the function indicator 2 is designed as a rotary switch . Turn the switch to the left to switch the device on with anticlockwise rotation. Turn the switch to the right to switch the device on with a clockwise rotation. Turn the switch to position to switch the device off. The round deepening in the rotary switch 1 is aligned with the symbol. If the device is switched on, function indicator 2 lights up in blue, and LED light 4 is on.
+ / – buttons 43
The MP 840 features three different rotation speed levels (levels 1 to 3). After switching on the device, the rotation starts with medium speed (level 2). Press on „+“ to increase the rotation speed (to max. level 3). Press „-“ to decrease the rotation speed – depending on the selected level – to level 1 or level 2. The change in speed takes place slowly. Start each application with low rotation speed and increase the rotating speed to suit your individual requirements.
NOTE
The device switches off automatically if the grinding unit is blocked. Set the dial to , wait for a few seconds and start it again.

Changing the attachments 5
The device is equipped with a hexagonal holder for the attachments. Switch the unit off. To change the attachments, first pull off the part that is not required. Place the new attachment in the holder and turn slightly until it clicks into position. For the smoothing and polishing rolls the holder needs to be used. Place it onto the device.
Attachments
The purpose of application for the attachments (in sequence of the illustration):

  • Fine-grained sapphire disk 6: For shortening nails by filing in the growth direction. Hold the unit firmly, run the nail along the disk. Only file in one direction!
  • Coarse-grained sapphire cone 7: To remove dry hard skin.
  • Felt cone 8: To smooth the edges of the nail and to polish the nail surface.
  • Needle burr 9: To carefully remove ingrowing nails and to remove small dead portions of the nails. Only to be used at slow speed!
  • Cylindrical burr 0: To remove hardened nail surfaces.
  • Flame burr 11: To carefully remove in-growing nails.
  • Nail polisher 12: with 2 smoothing and polishing rolls:
  • Smooth nails: Gently smooth the nail surface by slightly pressing the smoothing roll onto it for approximately 15 seconds.
  • Polish nails: Polish the nail surface using light pressure with the polishing roll.

Cleaning and Care

  • The power adaptor for all electrical devices should always be removed from the socket.
  • Never use aggressive cleaning agents or stiff brushes.
  • To clean the device, use a soft cloth that has been dampened with a mild soap solution or water. Never immerse the device in water when cleaning and ensure that water does not otherwise enter the device. Only use the device again when it is completely dry.
  • The attachments can be cleaned with a brush (e.g. an old toothbrush) for hygiene reasons. It is also recomend- ed that the grinding surfaces are cleaned with commercially available disinfectant spray or 90% alcohol to prevent the transmission of infection. The attachment pins must be kept free from grease. Let the attachments dry completely before (re-)attaching them to the device.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place.
  • Ensure the power cable is neatly packed to avoid cable breaks.

Instructions for disposal

Do not throw this device away with ordinary household waste. Consumers are obliged to bring all-electric or electronic devices, irrespective of whether they contain harmful substances or not, to a community or retailer’s collection site so they can be transferred to the proper channels for disposal. Contact your local authority or retailer regarding disposal.
