(See also Figure 1a/1b on the inside rear cover)

- a shorter loop for attaching to the eyelet on the monocular
- a longer loop for attaching the eyepiece protective cap
ADJUSTING THE EYE CUP/USING WITH AND WITHOUT GLASSES
The eyepiece eye cup (1) is adjustable It should be extended (1a) for viewing without and retracted for viewing with glasses (1b)
ADJUSTING THE FOCUS
The focus is adjusted for objects at different distances using the focusing
ring (3)
USING THE CLOSE-UP LENS
The LEICA MONOVID 8×20 can also be used to provide a magnified view of objects
that are at close range. To do this, the close-up lens (5) supplied is screwed
into the inner thread (5a) on the monocular lens (clockwise). Depending on the
position of the focusing ring, this results in a viewing distance of around
25–30cm with an identical magnification.
CARE/CLEANING
Your LEICA MONOVID 8×20 does not require any special care. Coarse dirt particles, such as sand, should be removed with a hair pencil or blown off. Fingerprints etc. on the lens and the eyepiece lenses can be wiped off with soft, clean leather or lint-free cloth. The best way to remove spots of water on the lens and eyepiece lenses is with a cloth moistened with water.
Caution:
When wiping heavily soiled lens surfaces, do not exert excessive force.
Although the coating is highly abrasion resistant, it can be damaged by sand
or salt crystals.
