FMVSS 110 Compliance Information
All dealers must determine if the Net weight they have added in the form of all options or accessories when added to the weight of all Port/Dealer Installed options or accessories, exceeds the lesser of 1.5% of GVWR or 100 lbs. If the additional weight does exceed the lesser of the indicated thresholds, a “Load Carrying Capacity Reduced” label must be installed. A black, fine-point, indelible marker must be used to write by hand onto the label, the reduced carrying capacity in kilograms or pounds, which is the total weight of all added options and accessories.

Information
Notes to the installer
- Read the entire Installation Instructions prior to beginning the installation of this accessory.
- If applicable, scan the barcode label located on the accessory part or packaging prior to installing, to register the part. If this accessory is installed as a replacement, register the removal of the old part before registering the new part. Old and new parts will have different barcode data, and the old registration cannot be reused.
- Make sure the vehicle is completely clean and dry in the areas the part is to be installed.
- Ensure the vehicle is properly protected in the area(s) that the accessory is to be installed.
- NEVER place tools on painted surfaces, seating surfaces, dash pad, console or floor carpet/mats.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, etc., when required.
- Roll down the driver’s window and adjust the power seats (if applicable) prior to disconnecting battery power, if needed.
- Record radio presets prior to disconnecting battery power, if needed.
- Vehicle should be at room temperature.

Disconnecting Connectors
- When disconnecting connectors, grasp the connectors, not the wire.
Locking Connectors
- When locking connectors, listen for a click indicating they are securely locked.
Tow Hitch Harness Connector Locations For Reference
Vehicle Lift, Ratchet, 10mm Socket and Extension
NOTE
- Position the vehicle on a vehicle lift. Do NOT raise vehicle at this time.
- Record any pre-set radio stations (if applicable).
- Open the tailgate.
- Open the hood.
- Remove the Cap from Negative (-) Battery Cable, if applicable.
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle’s Negative (-) Battery Cable.
Warning
- Shock Hazard. Do not touch vehicle’s negative battery cable to the vehicle’s positive battery cable. Serious injury and damage to the vehicle may occur.
- Comply with vehicle lift manufacture’s instructions and safety when using the lift.
NOTE
- Open luggage bin lid.
- Remove cargo cover, if equipped and store in a safe location for reinstallation.
Trim Removal Tool and #2 Phillips Screwdriver
NOTE
- Carefully dislodge the five (5) screw covers and remove the screws securing the luggage bin. Store covers and screws in a safe location for reinstallation.
- Carefully lift the luggage bin upward to dislodge the four (4) retention clips then remove bin and store in a safe location for reinstallation.
_ Caution: _Do not scratch or damage any vehicle components.
Masking Tape
NOTE
- In order to protect vehicle components from contamination of black weatherstrip sealant, adhere masking tape against the weatherstrip, onto the left side cargo trim panel, left tailgate jam area and upper rear bumper cover.
Caution: Do not scratch or damage any vehicle components.
Trim Removal Tool
NOTE
- Dislodge the weatherstrip from the transverse panel.
- NOTE: Ensure the rear bumper cover is well protected with masking tape.
- Using a trim removal tool, carefully dislodge the transverse panel and store it a safe location for reinstallation.
- Temporarily reinstall weatherstrip.
Caution: Do not scratch or damage any vehicle components.
Trim Removal Tool
NOTE
- Carefully dislodge the D-pillar trim panel.
Caution: Do not scratch or damage any vehicle components.
#2 Phillips Screwdriver and Trim Removal Tool
NOTE
- Remove the three (3) screws securing the left luggage trim panel shown above. Place screws in a safe location for reinstallation.
- Dislodge the weatherstrip from the left luggage trim panel.
- NOTE: Ensure the areas near weatherstrip are well protected with masking tape.
- Carefully dislodge the left luggage trim panel.
- NOTE: Do NOT completely remove the left luggage trim panel from the vehicle. Ensure the panel is not overly forced inboard as damage may occur to the panel.
- Temporarily reinstall the weatherstrip.
- Locate and the factory 12mm bolt on the left quarter panel. This bolt will be used for the tow hitch harness ground ring terminal.
Caution: Do not scratch or damage any vehicle components.
**** Sheers
NOTE
- Dislodge the factory harness rubber grommet shown above.
- Using sheers, carefully cut a slit through the factory harness grommet as shown above.
- NOTE: Do NOT cut or damage the factory harness running through the grommet.
__Vehicle Lift, Clip Removal Tool, Ratchet, Extension and 14mm Socket
NOTE
- Raise vehicle to desired working height to access the under body at the rear bumper.
- Using a clip removal tool, remove the three (3) lower plastic push clips on the driver side plastic under cover panel.
- Loosen the two (2) plastic nuts then dislodge and remove the driver side plastic under cover panel by pulling straight down.
- Install tow hitch per tow hitch installation instructions. Tow hitch electronic installation instructions link can be found on last page for reference.
_ WARNING: _Comply with vehicle lift manufacture’s instructions and safety when using the lift.
__Torque Wrench, 8mm Deep Well Socket and #2 Phillips Screwdriver
NOTE
- Feed the tow hitch harness through the tow hitch bracket and orient the 7-way connector so that the door opens upward as shown.
- Insert the four (4) provided screws through the front side of the 7-way connector and install the four (4) provided 8mm nuts on the back side as shown.
- Torque the hardware to: 5.0 N.m (0.5 kgf.m, 45 lb-in)
_ Warning: _Do NOT over-torque the hardware.
__Wire Cutters and Vehicle Lift
NOTE
- Insert the tow hitch output harness through the back side of the grommet and into the vehicle.
- NOTE: The grommet will be seated back into its original location and sealed with RTV silicone sealant in a later step.
- Using two (5) wire ties, secure the output harness to the factory harnesses as shown above.
- NOTE: Ensure to push excess harness slack into the luggage compartment through the grommet hole.
- Trim excess wire tie material.
- Lower the vehicle.
WARNING: Comply with vehicle lift manufacture’s instructions and safety when using the lift.

NOTE
- Seat the factory grommet back into its original location.
- Locate the factory 8-Pin female connector behind the left luggage trim panel near the factory grommet.
- NOTE: If connector is taped in place, remove tape to free the connector.
- Connect the tow hitch harness input harness 8-Pin male connector into the factory 8 Pin female connector.
- Connect the 1-Pin male E-Brake Power Connector on the input harness into 1-Pin female connector on the output harness and make sure they are locked in place.
- Connect the 1-Pin female AUX Power Connector on the input harness into 1-Pin male connector on the output harness and make sure they are locked in place.
Ensure the connectors are locked in place.

NOTE
- Insert the Control Module bracket onto the Control Module and engage the retaining tab as shown above.
Make sure that the bracket is fully seated onto the module.
Clip Removal Tool, Torque Wrench, Extension and 10mm Socket
NOTE
- Identify the factory harness running against the luggage compartment threshold and dislodge the harness stud mount nearest to the left luggage trim panel.
- Secure the control module and bracket assembly using the supplied nut to the factory stud as shown.
- Torque the Nut to: 9.8 ~ 14.7 N.m (1 ~ 1.5 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 10.8 lb-ft)
Ratchet, Extension and 12mm Socket
NOTE
- Remove the 12mm bolt shown above.
Ratchet, 12mm Socket and Torque Wrench
NOTE
- Insert the 12mm bolt through the ground ring terminal of the tow hitch harness and reinstall the bolt.
- Torque the 12mm Bolt to : 16.7 ~ 21.6 N.m (1.7 ~ 2.2 kgf.m, 12.3 ~ 15.9 lb-ft)
Wire Cutters
NOTE
- Connect the remaining three (3) tow hitch harness connectors into the control module and ensure they are locked in place.
- Secure the three (3) tow hitch connector harness branches connected to the control module to the factory harness as shown above with wire tie #1.
- Secure the three (3) tow hitch connector harness branches connected to the control module and the factory harness to the open control module’s bracket hole with wire tie #2.
- TIP: Insert the wire tie through the bracket hole first then secure the harnesses.
- Trim excess wire tie material.
Wire Cutters and #2 Phillips Screwdriver
NOTE
- Using three (3) wire ties, continue to secure the tow hitch harnesses to the factory harnesses as shown above.
- Trim excess wire tie material.
- Reinstall the left luggage trim panel and secure using the three (3) screws.
RTV Silicone Sealant and Vehicle Lift
NOTE
- Apply RTV silicone sealant to the base of the grommet, surface area surrounding the harnesses and all openings, ensuring the grommet is completely sealed.
- Lift the vehicle.
- Apply RTV silicone sealant to the base of the grommet, surface area surrounding the harnesses and all openings, ensuring the grommet is completely sealed.
- Reinstall the driver side plastic under cover panel.
- Lower the vehicle.
If installing an Electric Brake Control Module at this time, proceedto Step 20. If NOT installing an Electric Brake Control Module at thistime, skip to Step 23.
_ WARNING: _Comply with vehicle lift manufacture’s instructions and safety when using the lift. Ensure the grommet is completely sealed with the RTV silicone sealant.
Trim Removal Tool
NOTE
- Remove the fuse panel cover and set aside in a safe location.
- Dislodge weatherstrip at the dash side panel area.
- Remove the dash side panel and set aside in a safe location.
Caution
- Do not damage the dash, fuse panel cover or dash side panel. Make sure no pressure clips remain in the dash board.
#2 Phillips Screwdriver
NOTE
- Remove the three (3) phillips screws securing the lower dash panel.
- Carefully dislodge the lower dash panel.
- Store the lower dash panel and screws in a safe location for reinstallation.
Caution
- Do not damage the lower dash panel.
NOTE
- Locate the factory 4-Pin female electric-brake connector taped to the fuse box connector harness as shown above.
- Remove the tape around the connector.
- Connect the provided 4-Pin male electric-brake power harness into the factory 4-Pin female electric-brake connector and make sure it is locked in place.
Install the Electric Brake Module per instructions provided with the Electric Brake Module, using the four (4) leads on the Electric Brake Power Harness
- BLACK——-> BATTERY (+)
- RED ———-> STOP INPUT
- WHITE ——-> GROUND
- BLUE ———> TRAILER BRAKE OUTPUT
Ratchet, 10mm Socket and Torque Wrench
NOTE
- Reconnect the Vehicle’s Negative (-) Battery Cable, torque to: 5.0 ~ 6.0 N.m (0.5 ~ 0.6 kgf.m, 45 ~ 52 lb-in).
- Reinstall the Cap from Negative (-) Battery Cable, if applicable.
- Close hood.
Warning: Shock Hazard. Do not touch the vehicle’s negative battery cable to the vehicle’s positive battery cable. Serious injury and damage to the vehicle may occur.
12V Tester / Volt Meter OR 7-Way Tester
NOTE
- Perform Visual Check & Function Check with a 12V Tester / Volt Meter OR 7 Way Tester.
#2 Phillips Screwdriver
NOTE
- Reinstall, in reverse order, all trim panels removed during installation.
- Lower dash panel, if applicable.
- Side dash panel, if applicable.
- Fuse panel cover, if applicable.
- Left front door weatherstrip, if applicable.
- D-pillar trim panel.
- Transverse panel.
- Tailgate weatherstrip.
- Remove all pieces of masking tape and discard.
- Luggage bin.
- Cargo cover, if equipped.
- Close tailgate.
- Place the provided Warning / Notice Cards into vehicle’s glovebox.
- If an Electric Brake Control Module has not been installed, place the 4-Pin Electric Brake Power Harness into the Vehicle’s Glove Box.
Caution: Do not scratch or damage any vehicle components.
