SVF-7Pro Full HD 7 inch Viewfinder for Studio Cameras
Product Information
The SVF-7Pro is a Full HD 7-inch viewfinder designed for studio cameras. It is manufactured by Heiwa Seiki Kogyo Co., Ltd.
Caution
This equipment is a precision product and requires careful operation. It is
not waterproof, so avoid contact with liquids or cleaners. Clean the equipment
with a soft dry cloth. Do not use incompatible components. Please use the
product as intended.
Connection cable and shoe attachment for cameras are not included with the SVF-7Pro. You need to purchase either the CA-7S, CA-7I, or CA-7H separately.

Product Usage Instructions
Attaching to the Camera
When attaching or adjusting the angle, grasp the body firmly with both
hands.
Attaching the Shoe Attachment (CA-7S, CA-7I, or CA-7H)
- This product does not include any connection cable and shoe attachment for cameras. Please purchase either CA-7S, CA-7I, or CA-7H depending on the camera you use.
- Attach the shoe attachment under the bracket.
- Set the included accessory parts (resin plate, metal plate, resin washer, knob) on the bracket as shown in the picture.
- Firmly tighten the included screw to fix the shoe attachment.
How to Attach to Camera
Attach the SVF-7Pro on the top of the camera. When attaching or removing the
viewfinder from the camera, be sure to lock the viewfinder on its lowest
position.
Note: Please refer to the user manual for further adjustment and setting instructions, MENU configuration, dimensions, and specifications.

Be sure that all screws are tightened firmly.

Please follow manual instructions when inserting the connectors. Incorrectly attaching the connectors may cause a malfunction.
- Please be careful not to catch your finger in any rotating/moving parts Be sure to firmly tighten all screws
- If any screws are loose, due to its weight, SVF-7Pro may possibly fall and slam your fingers and/or may cause serious injuries.
- When attaching and/or adjusting the angle, hold the main body with both hands.

Do not pull out the cable forcefully
- Forcefully pulling out the cable may cause damage to the camera and/or a malfunction to the SVF-7Pro itself.

- Excessively pushing or pulling the buttons and/or switches may cause damage and/or a malfunction to the SVF-7Pro itself.

B-1: Attaching the shoe attachment
This product does not include any connection cable and shoe attachment for
cameras. Please purchase either CA-7S, CA-7I, or CA-7H depending on the camera
you use.

1~3: Attach either CA-7S, CA-7I, or CA-7H depending on the camera you use.

4: Attach the shoe attachment under the bracket. As shown in the picture, set the included accessory parts on the bracket.

5: Firmly tighten the included screw to fix the shoe attachment.

Place the viewfinder on top of the camera and be sure that the shoe attachment can fit the V-shaped groove (camera side).

7. Push the handle to firmly insert the body to the camera attachment.

8. Check if the viewfinder is firmly fixed by moving the handle back and forth.
Firmly fix the view finder. If it is not attached properly, it may fall down and cause personal injuries. -
9. Removing the viewfinder
When removing the viewfinder from the camera, be sure to lock the viewfinder on its lowest position. -
10. Removing the viewfinder from SONY cameras
While pressing the camera’s release button, pull the viewfinder’s handle and lift it to remove, Removing the viewfinder from Ikegami cameras
1. Release the release lever on the shoe attachment.
2. While pressing the release button, pull the viewfinder’s handle and lift it to remove. Removing the viewfinder from Hitachi cameras
While sliding the shoe attachment’s release lever to its release side, press the release button. Then pull the viewfinder’s handle and lift it to remove.
Adjusting the position
When moving the camera with the viewfinder attached, be sure to lock the
viewfinder on its lowest position.
Caution: be careful not to catch your finger in rotating/moving parts.
- 11. Loosen the tilt angle adjustment/fixing screws located at both sides of the bracket.
- 12. Firmly tighten the tilt angle adjustment /fixing screw and the horizontal adjustment /fixing screw to adjust the viewfinder.
How to connect
- Turn off the power on each equipment before connecting.
- Connect the SVF-7Pro “CAMERA IN” connector to camera’s VF connector with the cable (sold separately).
- Connection cable and shoe attachment for cameras not included, please be sure to purchase either the CA-7S, the CA-7I, or the CA-7H.
- When connecting to SONY cameras
- Use the cable included in the CA-7S (sold separately)
- When connecting to Ikegami cameras
- Use the cable included in the CA-7I (sold separately)
- When connecting to Hitachi cameras
- Use the cable included in the CA-7H (sold separately)
- Press INPUT select switch to set the CAMERA mode.
How to use TALLY
-
When using Hitachi, Ikegami, SONY cameras with 20pin Analog component output.

Only connect the camera to the SVF-7Pro’s CAMERA IN with the cable, the TALLY is ready for use.

When connecting to cameras with no 20pin Analog component output or using the viewfinder as sub monitor
-
Connect the camera to the SVF-7Pro’s SDI-IN with a BNC cable.

When using only TALLY RED lighting
Connect the TALLY OUT signal from the CCU switcher to the viewfinder’s TALLY1 terminal with a BNC cable. -
When using both TALLY RED and GREEN lighting
Connect the signal from the voltage converter circuit to the viewfinder’s TALLY2 terminal with a BNC cable.
C: Adjustment and Setting
C-1 Setting / Adjustment

Select an input signal
Select an input signal connected to the input connector by pressing the INPUT select switch. The selected input signal and video format are displayed on the screen.
When there is no signal, “NO SYNC” is displayed.
They are displayed in the MENU as well. -
Setting of COLOR MATRIX
When inputting the camera signal through the CAMERA IN connector, set the COLOR MATRIX to YPBPR or RGB in the MENU/COLOR. -
Setting of SYSTEM MODE
Set the SYSTEM MODE in MENU/SETUP. -
Panel Backlight
The brightness of the panel backlight is adjustable.
Set it in the MENU/SET UP if needed.

C2- Bright/Contrast/Peaking Adjustment

Press the knob (Bright/ Contrast/ Peaking
Adjustment) to switch to the USER mode and to bring up the latest data. When in the USER mode, the LED of the knob is on. -
Rotate the knob to adjust settings.
(setting ranges: 0 to 100)
When the LED of the knob is off, each setting remains STANDARD (Default setting). Bright=50
Contrast=50
Peaking=0
User settings will be saved.-
Picture/Flip

Peaking Color
Select color for the peaking in the MENU.
[WHITE/ RED/ BLUE/ GREEN] -
SATURATION
Set the SATURATION in the MENU.
(0 to 100, default setting: 50)

Set the Time Code Display in the MENU/ SETUP.
C-2 BRIGHT/CONTRAST/PEAKING Adjustment
PEAKING COLOR
Select the indication color of the peaking in the MENU/PICTURE/PEAKING.
[WHITE/RED/BLUE/GREEN].
SATURATION Setting
Set the SATURATION in the MENU/PICTURE/SATURATION.
[ 0 to 100 , default factory setting:50 ]
