K2-systems 4000015 EverFlash eComp + SR Slide Kit
Product Information
- The EverFlash eComp + SR Slide Kit is a component of the PV system offered by k2-systems. It is designed to provide a secure and waterproof flashing solution for solar panel installations. The kit includes the EverFlash eComp, Slide Bracket, L-Foot, 5/16 Lag Screw with Sealing Washer, T-Bolt & Hex Nut.
- The EverFlash eComp is made of aluminum with a silver or black finish. It measures 8×12 and is designed to be installed under the 2nd course of shingles, extending up under the 3rd course of shingles. The Slide Bracket and L-Foot are also made of aluminum with a silver or black finish.
- The Lag Screw is made of stainless steel with an EPDM insert for sealing. The T-Bolt and Hex Nut are made of stainless steel. The kit also includes a 13 mm deep socket T Torque tool for installation.
Product Usage Instructions:
- Locate the rafters and mark the installation position for each EverFlash eComp flashing by snapping horizontal and vertical lines.
- Remove any obstructing nails in the 2nd course of shingles using a roofing bar.
- Drill a 3 deep pilot hole through the rafter using a 7/32 aircraft extension bit. Ensure the pilot hole is square to the rafter.
- Fill the pilot hole with sealant as a secondary waterproofing step, as required by the roofing manufacturers.
- Apply an upside-down U-shape bead of sealant to the underside of the flashing before insertion.
- Slide the eComp flashing under the 2nd course of shingles, ensuring the bottom edge does not overhang the butt edge of the shingles.
- Swivel the Slide Kit to gauge proper torque when driving the lag bolt. Tighten until the Slide Kit stops swiveling easily. The torque range is between 8.3-11.6 ft-lb.
- Insert the T-Bolt through the bottom L-Foot slot and into the Slide Bracket. Adjust the L-Foot to the desired position and tighten to 25.8 ft-lbs (35 Nm). Repeat the T-Bolt install process to attach the CrossRail.
