Quick Start Guide
Before you begin using the FortiGate 80F Series, make sure to
register your device to access FortiGuard updates, cloud
management, firmware upgrades, technical support, and warranty
coverage by visiting https://support.fortinet.com.
FortiExplorer App
Rapidly provision, deploy, and monitor Security Fabric
components including FortiGate and FortiWiFi devices using the
FortiExplorer App. Download the app for free by scanning the QR
Code or visiting https://links.fortinet.com/fortiexplorer/downloads.

Quick Setup
To set up your device:
-
Unpack the box and power the device.
-
Plug the Ethernet cable from a WAN port to the internet.

Launch FortiExplorer using one of the following methods:
- BLE Auto Detection:
- Enable Bluetooth on your Fortinet device and mobile.
- Place them near each other for auto detection.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.
- USB Connectivity:
- Connect your mobile to your device with a USB cable.
- If not detected, navigate to My Fabric, tap Add, and follow
on-screen instructions.
- FortiGate Cloud Key Registration:
- Navigate to My Fabric and tap Add.
- Scan the FortiGate Cloud Key on your device.
- Follow on-screen instructions to complete setup.
Additional Setup Options
To set up your Fortinet device locally or connect using
forticloud.com:
GUI Setup
To set up using GUI:

Connect Port 1 to your management computer using an Ethernet
cable. -
Note: For static IP configuration, use IP address 192.168.1.1
with subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
CLI Setup
To set up using CLI:
-
Connect the Console Port to your management computer using a
USB Console Cable (available for purchase). -
Set speed (default: 9600), data bits (8), stop bits (1), parity
(None), and flow control (None). -

FortiGate Cloud Key Setup
To set up using FortiGate Cloud Key:

Go to forticloud.com and login with your FortiCloud Credentials
or Register. -
Follow the on-screen instructions and click Add FortiGate.

Enter the FortiGate Cloud Key located on your device’s
sticker.

1 Activez les fonctions Bluetooth de l’appareil Fortinet et de votre appareil
mobile, puis placez ceux-ci côte à côte
2 FortiExplorer détectera automatiquement l’appareil
