Product Information
The K2 Flash Comp Kit is a roofing accessory designed to provide a watertight seal and solid rafter connection for your roofing system. It includes the following components:
- Item 1: K2 Flash Comp Flashing – This flashing is made of composition/asphalt shingle material and is available in two finishes: Galvalume (Mill) and Painted galvalume (Dark).
- Item 2: K2 Flash L-Foot – This L-Foot is made of aluminum and stainless steel.
- Item 3: T-Bolt & Hex Nut – This hardware is used for secure installation.
- Item 4: 5/16 Lag Screw w/ EPDM Washer – This lag screw comes with an EPDM sealing washer for added water resistance.
Product Usage Instructions
To ensure proper usage of the K2 Flash Comp Kit, please follow these instructions:
- Start by aligning the flashing with a chalk line to ensure a straight installation.
- Attach the K2 Flash L-Foot to the desired location on the roof using the provided T-Bolt and Hex Nut.
- Securely fasten the K2 Flash Comp Flashing to the L-Foot using the 5/16 Lag Screw and EPDM Washer. Make sure the EPDM gasket seals the L-Foot-Flashing connection for a watertight seal.
- Repeat the above steps for each section of flashing required for your roofing system.
Note: The K2 Flash Comp Kit is compatible with CrossRail 44-X, 48-X, 48-XL, and 80 roof connections. It has been tested and approved for maximum allowable uplift, downforce, and shear forces.
