WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire:

Do not operate while unattended.
Do not use it with food that has been spread with butter, jelly, frosting, etc.
Do not use rice cakes, fried foods, frozen prepared foods, or nonbread items.
Do not use it with toaster pastries. Always cook toaster pastries in a toaster oven.
Do not cover or use near curtains, walls, cabinets, paper or plastic products, cloth towels, etc.
Closely supervise when used by or near children.
Do not operate the toaster in an enclosed space, such as an appliance cabinet, caddy, garage, or another storage area.
To reduce the risk of fire, clean crumb trays regularly.
Always unplug the toaster when not in use.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or fire.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

Read all instructions.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are supervised. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is plugged in. See cleaning instructions for details to dislodge food and remove crumbs.
To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or toaster in water or other liquid.
Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow cooling before cleaning the appliance and putting on or taking off parts. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged supply cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Supply cord replacement and repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Call the provided customer service number for information on examination, repair, or adjustment.
Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock.
The bread may burn. A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, overhead cabinets, paper or plastic products, cloth towels, and the like, when in operation.
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter or touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
Before unplugging the toaster, make sure the bread lifter is in the “up” position.
Do not use outdoors.
Do not use appliances for other than intended use.
To disconnect, press cancel; then remove the plug from the wall outlet. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
This product is for household use only.
Do not operate the appliance by means of an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
Do not operate unattended.
Do not use it with toaster pastries. Always cook toaster pastries in a toaster oven. If you must use a toaster, always set it to the lowest toast color setting. Never heat-cracked, broken, or warped pastries, and never leave them unattended.

This appliance is intended for household use only.
WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard: This appliance is provided with a grounded (3-prong) plug to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a grounded outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, have an electrician replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance.
The extension cord must be a grounding-type, /3-wire cord. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.
To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit as this appliance.

BAGEL, FROZEN, and 1 SLICE settings can be selected at any time before or during the toast cycle. Once selected, the setting will remain active for 3 minutes after the cycle
is completed and then will revert back to the normal toast setting. When a button is activated, the indicator light will illuminate. BAGEL
The BAGEL setting toasts the cut side of the bagel and warms the rounded side. Place the bagel in the toaster with the cut sides facing out. The BAGEL setting can be selected at any time.
FROZEN
The FROZEN setting will add extra toasting time needed to accommodate frozen or refrigerated bagels, English muffins, and other bread products. The FROZEN setting can be selected at any time.
1 SLICE
When toasting one slice of bread, this feature ensures even color on both sides. The middle heating element is on when toasting starts and turns off during toasting to prevent the over-browning of one side of the bread.
CANCEL
CANCEL stops the toasting cycle. Press the CANCEL button during any toast cycle. The Toaster will stop toasting and “pop” the bread up so it’s easy to retrieve. CANCEL can be selected at any time.

Toaster Operation

NOTE: Bread Lifter(s) will not latch down unless Toaster is plugged in.
HOW TO USE A TOASTER

Select toasting shade. Use shade selector to manage toast browning. Turn the knob left or right to the desired number: the lower the number, the lighter the toast; the higher the number, the darker the toast. Many households find a preferred shade that works for most family members most of the time, but the shade can also be customized at each toasting if desired.
Select the toasting setting by pressing the desired button. See page 7 for setting button descriptions. Once selected, the setting will remain active for 3 minutes after the cycle is completed and then will revert back to the normal toast setting.
Gently press Bread Lifter down and hold for 1 second to ensure positive latching.
NOTE: This toaster uses a unique latching system which requires 1 second for the electronics to engage the lifter.
After the toast cycle ends, remove the toasted item.

HOW TO USE 1 SLICE SETTING

Place bread in the toaster, press the bread lifter down and select 1 SLICE.
When activated, 1 SLICE ensures even toasting on both sides of the bread.
At the end of the toast cycle, the toaster will “pop” the bread up and sound 3 chimes to indicate the cycle is complete.

NOTE: Users may select the FROZEN button to use with the 1 SLICE setting. To stop 1 SLICE at any time and retrieve the toast, select CANCEL.
TOASTING TIPS
The Wolf Gourmet Toaster makes it possible to perfectly toast everything from thick slices of artisan bread to bagels, English muffins, and gluten-free or thinly sliced homemade bread. There is a wide variety of bread that can be toasted. Heartier dense bread will take longer to toast, while sweet fruited bread will toast faster due to its level of sugar. Fresh bread will take longer to toast than day-old bread. Adjust your toaster according to your personal preference and the type of bread you are toasting.

Toasting is affected by bread temperature. Room-temperature bread may toast to a medium color on the 3–5 sets. The same type of bread that has been refrigerated may require a darker setting to reach a medium color.
Moisture content also affects toasting. Fresh bagels, made locally, have a higher moisture content than bagels purchased in the bread section of the supermarket. A second, shorter toasting cycle may be needed to reach the desired brownness.
Because of their irregular surface, English muffins may require more than one toasting cycle. After toasting for one cycle on the highest setting, if a darker shade is desired, adjust the shade selector to a lower setting and toast for a second cycle. Watch closely to avoid over-browning. English muffins cut with a knife toast more evenly than English muffins split with a fork.
When toasting only one slice, the bread may be placed in any slot of the toaster. Select 1 SLICE to ensure even browning on both sides of the bread.
On the 4-slice toaster, when toasting one or two slices, the best results are achieved by using either the left two slots or the right two slots of the toaster at the same time.
For toasting frozen or refrigerated bagels, select both BAGEL and FROZEN to ensure the bagel is toasted on one side and thoroughly warmed.

NOTE: The Wolf Gourmet Toaster is designed to use radiant heat to toast bread. While toasting, heating elements do not need to be glowing, or evenly glowing, to be functioning properly.

Pop-Tarts® is a registered trademark of Kellogg Co.| Do not heat in the toaster. Use a toaster oven broiler. If you must use a toaster, ALWAYS set it to the lowest shade setting. NEVER heat cracked, broken, or warped pastries, and NEVER leave them unattended.

Care Recommendations

WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard
Do not clean with metal scouring pads.
Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, causing a risk of electric shock.
The toaster should be cleaned regularly for best performance and long life. Regular cleaning will also reduce the risk of fire hazards.
BEFORE CLEANING
Unplug the toaster and let it cool.

CLEANING

Crumb Tray| Wipe with a clean lint‐free cloth.
Food Slots| Wipe the top of the food slots with a clean lint‐free cloth.
Toaster Body| Wipe with a damp cloth or sponge and dry with a clean lint‐free cloth.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Do not use abrasive or corrosive cleaners.
To remove food that becomes lodged in the food slots, disconnect the toaster from the outlet and allow it to cool. Use a non-metal utensil to loosen food from the grill wires, allowing it to fall into the crumb tray. Empty crumb tray.

Troubleshooting

Bagels, English muffins, and other bread products are too light.

The FROZEN setting can be selected to add time to room temperature, refrigerated, or frozen bagels; English muffins; and other bread products.

Bread won’t pop up.

If food is jammed, press Bread Lifter all the way down to the bottom. Then, press CANCEL or manually raise Bread Lifter.

Setting indicator lights won’t turn off.

The toaster will retain settings for 3 minutes to accommodate back-to-back toasting cycles.
To turn individual settings off, press the setting button again.

One side of the bread is darker than the other.

This toaster is optimized to evenly toast all slices. When just toasting one slice, select 1 SLICE to ensure even browning on both sides of the bread.

Bagels are toasting on only one side.

BAGEL setting is designed to toast only the cut side of the bread.
When loading the bagel, place the bagel in the Toaster with cut sides facing out. On 4-slice models, make sure to use either the two slots on the left or the two slots on the right.

Frozen food items get too brown.

Some foods, i.e., Belgian waffles, have a higher sugar content and brown more easily.
The FROZEN setting lengthens the toasting time to allow for defrosting. Try toasting without using the FROZEN setting.
Bread products can easily dry out in the freezer. If frozen items are in an open box or have been frozen for a long period of time, try toasting without the FROZEN setting or choose a lighter shade setting.

Tall homemade or extra-long artisan bread doesn’t fit in slots.

Bread may need to be trimmed to fit slots.
