Optional Internal Analog Output in the FCS Controller
Option -AO is the analog output board that adds four internal channels of 4 – 20 mA analog output to the FCS Flexible Control System. Option -AO is designed to send a 4 – 20 mA signal to up to four devices. Some of these devices could be:
- Building Automation Systems
- Variable Frequency Devices
- Remote Analog Displays
- Analog loggers
There can be two analog output boards installed in the FCS (Option -2AO),
providing eight internal channels of 4 – 20 mA analog output.
The 4 – 20 mA output signals are current sources and can be independently
scaled using the menu system on the FCS controller. Each output can be
assigned to an individual sensor or to a group of sensors through Priority
zoning configured within the FCS controller:
- The AO can be configured to output specific levels based on alarm levels of the associated channels.
- If a set of channels is configured for Peak, the AO can send out a signal representing the highest reading.
- If a digital signal like Time-of-Day is generated, the AO can output a fixed level – this is useful if a VFD is required to be activated on the Time-of-Day signal.
- If communication between a channel and the controller is interrupted a pre-configured default current will be output sent from AO.
