Safety information
Important – Save for the local electrical inspector’s use.
CAUTION
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN
This symbol indicates that dangerous voltage constituting a risk of electric
shock is present within your cooktop.
This symbol indicates that there are important operating and maintenance
instructions in the literature accompanying your cooktop.\
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
- READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
- DO NOT TOUCH SURFACE UNITS OR AREAS NEAR UNITS. Surface units may be hot even though they are dark in color. Areas near surface units may become hot enough to cause burns. During and after use, do not touch, or let clothing or other flammable materials contact surface units or areas near units until they have had sufficient time to cool.
- To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the cooktop in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the cooktop.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
- This electrical appliance is not recommended for use outdoors.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- To disconnect, turn any control to “off,” then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
- Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.
- Do not attempt to modify or extend the power cord of this appliance.
- Do not handle the plug with wet hands. This could result in an electric shock.
- Unplug the power cord by holding the plug, never by pulling the cord.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
- Household Use Only.
- Do not cook on a broken cooktop. If the cooktop should break, cleaning solutions and spills may penetrate the broken cooktop and create a risk of electric shock.
- Be careful when you clean the cooktop. If a wet sponge or cloth is used to wipe spills on a hot cooking surface, be careful to avoid steam burn. Also, some cleaners can produce noxious fumes if applied to a hot surface.
- Do not place metallic objects, such as knives, forks, spoons, and lids, on the cooktop, because they can get hot.
