HERCULES HA027 Universal Dust Collection Attachment

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

WARNING:  Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

  1. Attach securely to workpiece before using tool.

  2. Use as intended only. Do not use with water-cooled tool. Use only for masonry drilling dust collection.

  3. Do not use to pick up combustible or hazardous materials such as explosive dust, varnish, polyurethane coatings, oil-based paints, cleaners or asbestos. Dust or fumes may be ignited by electric motor sparks.

  4. Do not drill into metal, hot metal pieces or sparks can cause a fire inside the vacuum or may damage the tool.

  5. Do not drill into wood, wood chips may clog the dust opening.

  6. Do not use while chiseling, screwdriving or cutting threads.

  7. Do not use on wet surfaces.

  8. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.

  9. Use only as described in the manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.

  10. Carefully inspect the condition of the Dust Collection Attachment parts before use. Check for damaged parts. Do not use and replace any damaged part.

  11. Use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other part will void warranty.

  12. Do not modify the Dust Collection Attachment or use its parts for a purpose for which they were not intended.

  13. Do not place the Vacuum Hose in walkways or in any trafficked location. Setup the Dust Collection Attachment in a location where people or vehicles will not trip or run over the hose.

  14. Keep hose away from sharp objects and excessive heat.

  15. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings.

  16. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.

  17. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a tool. Do not use a tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
    A moment of inattention while operating tools may result in serious personal injury.

  18. Maintain labels and nameplates on the tool. These carry important safety information.

Setup – Before Use

WARNING: Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.

Setup : Insert vacuum hose into the dust port. If it does not fit, follow these steps:

  • a. Insert 1-1/4″ Connector into the dust port.
  • b. Connect the 1-7/8″, 2-1/2″ Adapter end of the Extension Hose to the vacuum hose.

OPERATION

Operating Instructions

WARNING: TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY, DO NOT USE WITH WATER-COOLED TOOL. USE ONLY FOR MASONRY DRILLING DUST COLLECTION.
CAUTION: TO PREVENT INJURY, the Dust Collection Attachment must be securely attached to workpiece.

  1. Turn the vacuum on and place the Dust Collection Attachment securely centered over the drilling location.

  2. When using a vacuum with a self-cleaning feature, suction may be reduced preventing the dust extractor from staying in place. If that occurs, the self-cleaning feature of the vacuum may need to be de-activated during use.
    CAUTION:  TO PREVENT INJURY, place the drill bit directly through the center of the bristles of the Dust Brush opening.

  3. When finished, turn off vacuum, remove attachment, then clean and store according to maintenance instructions.

Cleaning and Maintenance

TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM TOOL FAILURE:
Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.

  1. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the attachment. Check for:
  2. loose hardware,
  3. cracked or broken parts,
  4. any other condition that may affect its safe operation.
  5. AFTER USE, wipe external surfaces of the attachment with clean cloth. Store in an indoor dry area out of reach of children.

THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS.

To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise.

If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
