Introduction

A number of potent features, such as universal compatibility with cameras, mobile devices, and computers, an increased range (200m line of sight), enhanced transmission stability, on-board recording capabilities, and much more, are all offered by the Wireless GO II. This is the latest in wireless audio technology.

The black Rode Wireless Go II system builds on the original Wireless GO by adding updates that enable two-person shoots, onboard recording, a significantly increased range, and flexible output options. This allows videographers, vloggers, and mobile journalists to confidently and quickly incorporate wireless audio into their setup regardless of their level of experience or the device they’re recording to.

You can focus on obtaining the picture knowing that the Wireless GO II is transmitting high-quality audio at a range of up to 656 feet thanks to its secure Series IV 2.4 GHz digital transmission, simple operability, and built- in mics (lavalier mics are available separately). Simple power-on-and-go operation and a clear, informative LCD screen that shows you what you need to see are all that are present; there are no menus and no fussy dials. When you’re ready for more, utilise the companion app for Rode to gain access to a robust feature set and extensive setting customization.

Superior Versatility

The Wireless GO II significantly increases wireless adaptability. It is ideal for creating video, filmmaking, on-camera or on-stage presentations, logging, You Tubing, live streaming, and other activities. It has a 3.5mm TRS analogue output for plugging into cameras and a digital audio output via USB-C for plugging into smartphones, tablets, and computers.

With on-board recording, you won’t ever experience audio dropouts or problems again, and the versatile gain control lets you exactly adjust the output to your device. The Wireless GO II also gives users the option to record both channels simultaneously or individually for maximum post-production flexibility.

Small Wireless Audio Devices

The Wireless GO II has the same compact design as the first Wireless GO. Less than 32g in weight, the transmitters and receiver hardly take up any room in a photographic gear bag, backpack, handbag, or briefcase. A convenient carry pouch is also included to keep everything organised and safe. The Wireless GO II is an ultra-compact wireless audio system for any recording environment. Its distinctive clip design makes it quick and simple to mount onto clothes or a camera cold shoe, mobile camera rig, boom pole, or any cold shoe accessory.

R-DE Center

For the Wireless GO II, RDE Central is a user-friendly desktop and mobile companion programme that enables you to customise device settings from any location, unlock additional capabilities, optimise and export recordings (desktop only), view device information, and install the most recent firmware. Sound that is expert Continuous Connectivity

The Wireless GO II is highly user-friendly and delivers sound of professional quality. Every time you set up the transmitters and receivers, everything goes well. With a range of up to 200m (line of sight) and 128-bit encryption, RDE’s Series IV 2.4GHz digital transmission is optimised for incredibly steady operation in locations with high levels of RF activity, such as dense metropolitan environments, malls, universities, conference centres, and workplaces.

For entirely wireless recording, each transmitter has an excellent built-in omnidirectional condenser capsule, as well as a 3.5mm TRS input for connecting a lavalier microphone. Additionally, twist-and-lock furry windshields are included with the Wireless GO II to allow for recording in windy or bad weather. Professional sound that is always crystal clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I connect the Wireless GO II to devices with XLR inputs?

Yes, this is possible using the supplied SC5 cable or any other TRS to TRS cable and the VXLR Pro adaptor to convert the signal. You can even use the SC11 splitter cable and two adaptors to break out the Wireless GO II’s two channels onto separate output jacks for dual channel recording.

How do I connect the Wireless GO II’s windshields?

The Wireless GO II’s windshields feature a twist-and-lock bayonet connector, which ensures an extremely strong connection. To attach them securely, align the two white dots on the windshield with the black dots on the receiver, then push the windshield down and twist to lock it in place. Reverse the process to remove them.

How does the Wireless GO II’s fine gain control work?

The Wireless GO II’s fine gain control can be enabled/disabled via RØDE Central. To activate it, open RØDE Central, plug in the receiver, navigate to the settings page, and toggle the ‘Gain Mode’ button to ‘Fine’. This will expand the Wireless GO II’s three-stage pad to a 10-stage pad, which goes from 0dB to -30dB in 3dB increments. It also gives you access to an extra 6dB of gain reduction, which is useful if you have a particularly sensitive camera or recording device.

How is the Wireless GO II’s Series IV digital transmission different to the original Wireless GO’s Series III?

RØDE’s Series IV digital transmission delivers an increased range of 200m and improved transmission stability, particularly in environments with lots of RF activity (such as dense urban areas, shopping malls, universities and convention centres).

How much internal memory does the Wireless GO II have for on-board recording?

The Wireless GO II transmitters are capable of recording over 24 hours of compressed audio or 7 hours of uncompressed audio each. Once storage on the device is full, the oldest saved recordings will be overwritten. Recordings can be accessed, optimised, exported, and deleted via RØDE Central.

Is the Wireless GO II compatible with the original Wireless GO?

No, the Wireless GO II is not currently compatible with the original Wireless GO.

What is RØDE Central?

RØDE Central is a companion app for the Wireless GO II that allows you to control all of the functions of the transmitters and receiver, update firmware, and access features such as on-board recording, the fine gain control and safety channel.

How does the Wireless GO II’s safety channel work?

When activated, safety channel mode will record a second track of audio at -20dB as a backup in case your sound source gets loud unexpectedly and causes the main channel to distort. To enable safety channel mode, open the RØDE Central app, plug in the Wireless GO II receiver, navigate to the settings screen, and click the ‘Safety Channel’ toggle (note: this can only be activated in ‘Merged’ mode).

What are the current OS requirements for using RØDE Central?

When using RØDE Central on a Mac device, the Operating System Requirements are 10.13 or later. When using RØDE Central on a Windows device, the Operating System Requirements are Windows 10 Version 1803 or later.

Will the smartLav+ (or any other TRRS connection) work with the Wireless GO II?

The smartLav+ has a TRRS input, meaning it will only work with the Wireless GO II via a TRRS to TRS adapter such as the SC3.

Can I use more than one Wireless Go II device?

You may record two sound sources simultaneously with the Wireless GO II’s dual channel wireless microphone system, or you can use it as a single channel wireless microphone. You can choose to silence either channel 1 or channel 2, or even both.

RDE Wireless Go is compatible with smartphones?

Now, you can use your iOS or Android device to control the RDE Wireless Go II system.

Can the Rode Wireless Go be used with an iPhone?

The AI-Micro can easily connect to USB Type-A, USB Type-C, and Lightning devices with the help of the included cables. Use it with a Mac or Windows computer, an iPhone, an iPad, or a tablet running Android.

Can you use a wireless rode cameraless?

Since the receiver doesn’t need to be hooked into your camera or even turned on, Rode has now released a new software update for the Wireless GO II microphone system that enables the transmitters to function merely as audio recorders fully independently.
