Forney 555 Air Compressors
Put On Appropriate Safety Equipment
Put on appropriate safety equipment. ALWAYS use the following safety equipment when operating your air compressor:
- Hearing protection is in accordance with ANSI Sl 2.6 (S3.19).
- Eye protection that is in accordance with ANSI 287.1.
Connect to Input Power
2.5 CFM and 4.5 CFM models: 110-120V ( 15A recommended) grounded wall outlet on independent circuit leg.
Ensure Tank Drain Valve is Closed
- The valve is located on the bottom of the compressed air tank.
- Close the valve by rotating the valve head clockwise until tight.
- Do NOT over-tighten!
Turn on Compressor Motor
- Rotate the power switch from “OFF” to “AUTO.”
- The compressor motor will start to fill the tank automatically. The compressor motor will automatically shut off when the tank is full (approx. 120 PSI Max).
Connect Air Hoses
Adjust Output Air Pressure
- The left gauge on the control panel displays the output air pressure in pounds-per-square-inch (PSI). The right gauge on the control panel displays the available pressure inside the compressed air tank.
- Turning the central knob clockwise will INCREASE the output air pressure. Turning the central knob counterclockwise will DECREASE the output air pressure.
- Turn Off Air Compressor when Finished
- Unplug From Input Power
Drain Air Tank
- Turn off and unplug the air compressor from the power source.
- Gently rotate the tank valve head counterclockwise until it starts to hiss.
- WARNING! Do not over-loosen the valve head!
