The lighting distribution angle determines how light spreads from a source and
impacts its illumination.
Two main types exist:
symmetric and asymmetric.
Symmetric Lighting: This emits light evenly in all directions, forming a cone-
shaped pattern. Great for general lighting in large areas, it’s used for tasks
like area illumination, security, and perimeter lighting. Also applied in up-
lighting.
Asymmetric Lighting (Beam Angle): This directs light in a specific direction,
reducin glare and spill. Ideal for task lighting, it’s common in settings like
landscapes, retail stores, and museums. ote: Reflectors, lenses, and source to
surface distance can affect the lighting distribution angle.
